Property Ratings at Mariners Village
THIS PROPERTY IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION WITH NO COMPLETION DATE SET. When trying to get a response from resident services how much longer the construction above our apartment will go on for, we were told "construction never has a set end date", I get that, sure, delays happen, but they couldn't even give us the most general ETA. Instead they yelled at us. Please, please, please don't live here. There are so many better places for the money. I'm only staying because i've been here for several years, but if your looking to move here now, DON'T!

Thank you and have a great day. It is discouraging to learn of your experience with us. Your feedback helps us improve and we would like to learn more about how we can make this better. Please reach out to us at (310) 821-4916 when you can so we can address this situation directly.
Everything you need is at Mariners Village... 24hr spa/fitness, cafe, library, clubhouse lounge, 4 heated pools, very lush environment, directly on the channel so near the water too. Closest walking distance to the beach in the marina... the maintenance staff is very responsive, quick to handle things, and kind, too, along with the other staff. Management is very committed to helping residents when needed and ensures an enjoyable living space for everyone. 24/7 courtesy patrol on site, too. I can't recommend this place enough. It's truly magical and our family LOVES living here. (I have 2 kids, btw... so grateful they get to grow up here... also a lot of other long term residents which in itself says A LOT!)

Hello, thank you for sharing your positive experience! Thanks again for the recommendation, and have an amazing day!
Take it from a current resident...This place is terrible! There are amenities but don't let it fool you. I am counting down the days my lease is over. The cops are called here every other week. My neighbors have been arrested several times. Music is heard throughout the night along with dogs barking. I have complained several times to the management, nothing has been done. I sleep at my girlfriend's apartment more than I do here. The rent is so expensive you're better off living somewhere else for the same price with more room and better appliances. There is no A/C. The walls; including the ceilings are paper thin. Unless you live on the 3rd floor, you do not go to sleep until the people above you do. This is not including the hallways which have doors that slam throughout the night. I wish someone had told me before I moved here all this, please save yourself. Live somewhere else

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. At Mariners Village, we strive to provide a comfortable environment for all our residents. Despite our best efforts, at times there can be noise concerns due to the actions of individuals. We’re here to serve our residents and take every care to address their concerns promptly, and have courtesy patrol onsite to help mitigate issues such as noise. We hope you would reach out to us so we can resolve your concerns. Can you please give us a call at 310.821.4916 or come visit us in the resident services office? We look forward to see you.
Leasing personnel are very nice and professional. They will upgrade you at every turn. There is no air conditioning here and even though the property is by the beach units have no cross ventilation. It is HOT and STUFFY inside the apartments and the hallways. Beware - the property is NOT SECURE or clean. There are security people riding around in carts that do nothing. There is a lot of CRIME and THEFT. Public areas are not frequently cleaned including hallways, elevators, walkways etc. Residents have loud parties until all hours of the morning and there is no one to stop that. Besides that the vintage 1960's property is charming and the location is nice.
It’s a beautiful place to live, but be prepared to have your car and bike stolen and Mariner’s Village do nothing about it. Be prepared to have maintenance wake you up at 7am trimming trees. Be prepared to pay $40 to do laundry just to have dog poop in the washers.
Absolute disappointment. First their phone number routes to a call center. So when I spoke to someone they told me they had one unit that matched the features and price I sought. But when I made an appointment and drove across town to go see this unit, their on site leasing agent not only was completely unaware of any such unit, she also quoted a higher price, with different features. Then, she was totally unaware of their virtual tour of the unit I sought after and even tried to tell me they didn’t have any units with plank (as they call it) flooring. However after insisting they do, because I’ve seen it, she then told me as if she just learned it, that there is one layout with plank flooring. But it’s $500 more than the price I was quoted and again a totally different unit. She was the rude and unapologetic regarding her own supposed ignorance of the property she worked at, and seemed unmoved regarding the misinformation, and my wasted time. I immediately lost all interest in even giving them a chance after this. I have never in 11 years of living in LA and touring many many complexes, ever dealt with such an experience. Truly a shame since I had pretty much made up my mind sight unseen that I was going to lease a unit that day from Mariners Village
After 8 months the thieves here have tried to steal my bike on three occasions. Today they succeeded. Management sucks and thefts are common. Better off someplace else.
If you like termites.... you will love this place!
Property Manager at Mariners Village, Responded To This Review
If you are having an issue with termites we can assist you. Please contact the office to get on the list to have them treated. It's a simple process and does the trick. With the extreme heat we are having it does make them more active but it's a quick fix. Regards, Lindsay Nydam General Manager Mariners Village
Security is only for writing parking tickets while your bikes are being stolen. Garages are not secure.
Property Manager at Mariners Village, Responded To This Review
Dear Resident: Our garages are not gated and the garages are considered a common area and we never recommend leaving anything personal in an unsecured area. Patrol monitors the guest parking and does not write parking tickets; they put a notification on cars when they are at their 1-2 hour mark of being towed; we do this as a courtesy to the residents so that they know their 48 hour period is coming to an end so they do not get towed. This is just one of their duties; aside from patrolling the grounds and garages. Regards, Lindsay Nydam General Manager Mariners Village
Do not be fooled by the reviews, they are fake. No secure parking! Cars broken into on a weekly basis.
Property Manager at Mariners Village, Responded To This Review
To whom it may concern, Our parking facilities are not gated, but It is regretful that you are receiving other information that is not correct. I care greatly about the community and would invite you to call me to further discuss any concerns you have. I can be reached at lindsayn@esring.com Sincerely, Lindsay Nydam Mariners Village General Manager
Bikes stolen, cars broken into, property vandalized on a weekly basis. Counting down the days to move out. You would be wise to rent elsewhere.

The leasing staff are super helpful and made everything as smooth as possible for a cross country move. They even made special concessions for us. We were surprised to find out a week in, that most of the floor we are on is families with small children (including my family) because it is so quiet. The balconies are much larger than any other balconies in the area and is great because we spend a lot of time on it. The apartment was super clean when we moved in and service calls to fix a few things (we broke) have been fast and courteous. The pools are all nice - although we have only used 2 so far. The tennis courts are great. And the club house has so many spaces, it's easy to find a workspace that's quiet. Parking for guests is always a challange, but the additional lot across the street works when we need it. The laundry facilities could use more ventilatlation, but there are several with a dozed washers/dryers each. They are a bit pricey, but run large loads. Having a dry cleaners on premises is a plus. My son loves the water features, goldfish/turtle pond, and watching the boats off the sun decks.
Mariners Village is the place to be.......... get home from a hard days work and hear the running water, see the fish in the ponds and smell the bbq's going...... just a step away from the sand and the boats; this place is definitely a stress relief huge pill WITHOUT the pill.......... the service/maintenance goes above and beyond............ this place rocks......
I feel like I live in a resort! The complex is within walking distance to the beach and has jacuzzis and pools dispersed throughout. Lush trees surround each building creating a sense of peace and quiet that simply doesn't exist any place else in the area. The complex is located partly on the Marina channel so walks along the channel path are filled with sights of ocean wildlife: sea lions, great blue herons, pelicans and of course, sea gulls. If you don't like resorts....don't come here!
I've been at M.V. for about a year and love it. They have get togethers for the residents, so you get to know your neighbors. Whenever I've had an issue, maintenance is there within the same day. The location is great too!
Mariner's Village is, to me, a nice place to live with a few minor annoyances. First let's go through the good points. 1) The landscaping and location both contribute to a sense of tranquility and an overall charm that make it feel like an escape from L.A. The units were built in the 70's and this gives is a particular style that is reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean, with water features and mature landscaping to boot. 2) Compared to rents in the area, the value is definitely there. There are a plethora of amenities, 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, a private boardwalk on the channel, saunas, gender specific locker rooms, a gym, on site cafe, on site dry cleaning, on site hair dressing (though I've never used it). You get a big bang for your buck here and it will probably be cheaper than other properties on the Peninsula. 3) There is an active community, with management sponsored events occurring at a regular cadence throughout the year. These come complete with themes, free food and drinks (yes adult drinks as well as others), DJs and entertainment, activities and giveaways. 4) There is on site security 24/7 patrolling the grounds. The property is VERY safe and the only incidents of crime I am aware of are the occasional stolen bicycle. This is pretty good for L.A. Now for the bad: 1) The units were built in the 70s. There is asbestos on site. The decor and layouts are also somewhat dated. This doesn't bother me but it might bother others. Some units have been updated and others have not, so there is a wide range of rental rates even within the spectrum of the same floor plan. 2) There are a lot of units. I mean ALOT. Something between 950 and 1000. This means there are a lot of people. I've had generally good experiences with neighbors over the years but there are some units that I pass and would dread living in close proximity of. There is also a full spectrum of residents, from families with children, college age young adults, young professionals, etc etc. So be aware that if you are a young person who wants to YOLO, you may be next to a family with a newborn, this will create a tense situation that will ultimately result in management's intervention if noise complaints pile up (I know people who have not been offered the option to renew, and even evicted, for consistently breaking the rules). Be aware that tense situations like this may occur given the high density, but that management does address the issue.
Mariners village is a resort! We have 4 pools, tennis courts, a deli, billiards room, media room, club house with giant fireplace, widows watch tower, coy fish ponds and waterfalls settled on the very end of the beautiful marina del Rey peninsula. I grew up here. I learned how to swim here. Permanent sand on my feet. The management has become family, very helpful and even memorize all the dogs names! Pet friendly and family friendly. Sea lions and dolphins are never far. This is by far the best location in all of the westside of Los Angeles. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
It's a very nice apartment complex that sits right at the edge of the marina. They have many amenities such as four pools, two hot jacuzzis, a rec center, along with a tiny villa that contains goods and services. It is right next to the end of venice beach and is a very peaceful neighborhood.
Mariners Village Apartments is a great place to live! Being in Los Angeles, it's a great way to get away from the hustle. The complex feels as though you are on a tropical vacation and smells like Disneyland; best of both worlds! This is a very safe area, pet friendly, and everyone is extremely nice. I recommend this complex because it's a vacation at home.
