Property Ratings at Marion Apartments
Price is decent, location is sketchy, property managers claim they enforce non-smoking rule and off street parking permits but they don't. They will do the bare minimum and make the tenant(s) figure out which unit is smoking cigarettes'/weed (and you can smell it seeping into your unit btw) and take pictures of the cars that doesn't have a permit sticker for off street parking. Also, we didn't have heat for a whole year. We moved during the end of winter so we didn't get to deal with the cold during the beginning. We called the maintence team to come fix the heat and they thought we were just stupid and told us that it was fine in the unit (72 degrees during Feb). Yes, fine for adults that'll wear sweaters but not for toddlers. Anyways, skipped forward to 2023-2024 winter, when the temperature went almost subzero degrees, we had contacted them again that we had no heat. We had to use space heaters which drew our electricity bill to an average of $350 per month for just mainly 2 adults. They also charge ridiculous prices for off-street parking ($75/month) and garage prices are $200 a month. Also, theres barely any public/street parking so good luck during the snow plow lot days. There is no property manager on site and their office is in minneapolis instead of st paul (the location this apartment is located) which means they will not come to the unit unless they absolute have to. Also, they barely left us any of our security deposit. They even said ours was one of the nicer and well kept units in the whole complex. Half of it was mainly because of wall repairs. They used cheap materials during renovation and the drywalls/paint started to cracked. During their "unit inspections" I had let one of the property managers know about the issue and they said they'll send someone over to fix it up but they never did. In my opinion, I wouldn't rent from TSSG. They'll scrape any amount of money they can from you. TDLR; Apartment is mediocre, they were going to raise the rent and with my poor experience with the property managers and how they deal with the issues, it would be a no go.
