Property Ratings at Marisol Vista Apartment Homes
If i could give this place negative stars i would. They just got rid of all the old management and replaced it with just as bad management and staff. There is so much i could vent about but ill just keep it short. Plumbing is the worst. I've had an outside plumbing company to my apartment at least 4 times within a year and nothing has been resolved. Maintenance has told me the piping is over 25 years old and I'm pretty much going to have to deal with backflow problems from time to time. My neighbors food and backflow litterly comes thru my sinks at least once a week. The pest problem is bad and the pest company says they only spray in kitchen and bathroom as if pests can only live in those 2 places. Although the construction is done its as if the put makeup on a pig because it only masks the real problem of the complex. The construction crew left plenty of nails to get stuck in tires. I've left several messages and calls to the management and even the regional manager Vivian who says she will return your call within 2 days. Good luck with that. The laundry room is always a mess, people leave their cloths in and just leave, or let their animals come in a pee or crap on the floor. Once they trap you in a lease you're stuck and you will regret it. Front office staff is rude and condescending, I cant wait for my lease to END!!!

I lived here for About a year the maintenance guys are terrible. They come out and fix your stuff a month after you put in a work order only for it break the next day It's been over 2 weeks and my air conditioner has been broke.I get promised that somebody won't be fixing it soon.Never gets fixed. And then you tried to call the office only for no one to ever answer the phone There is trash littered about the property all over the please. They've been having construction go on and I've had to go out and clean up my yard every single time.A new contractor comes out because they leave message everywhere. There's currently nails in the parking lot from them doing the Roofs. I would not recommend this place to anybody to management is terrible. To maintenance is terrible.I'm talking.Or on top of listening to music blasting out of radios, rattling your windows of all hours of the night. And listening to people's talk their feet above you. They promise a lot of big things here. There's just no follow through no one in the office. Will contact you back no more maintenance. We'll contact you back so if you want to live in a place that you have a lot of problems and nothing gets fixed. This is the place for you

this place has horrible communication skills they make everything seem so nice until your here for not even a week and your tub starts building mold everything is spray painted over flee infested roach and ant problems, they will tow your car even though YOU pay to live here but wont make the effort for more space in parking. Anytime you ask for the office ladys help they make you feel like a bother and they do it on there time always having water shut off problems at least 5 time a month, pools are always gross and duck crap everywhere, they ducks come into hallways and rip open trash and you will get fined if YOU dont clean it up this place is not worth your time and money things break within days of someone living in a unit. good luck

Thank you, Alicia - Property Manager - (844) 834-8968
Have lived here for 4 years. Parking was terrible early on. The management has finally created parking badges for all registered cars. If you have your car badge on your car and park in the proper parking spots towing is never an issue. Again I have been here for 4 years and have never once been towed, but my wife and myself follow the rules for parking. The staff has always been helpful as much as they can. Has been a pleasure living here.

Thanks for sharing your Marisol Vista Apartment Homes experience. We're glad we could improve our parking system and that you've found our team so helpful. It's wonderful to have you in our community and please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else we can do for you. Take care!
Parking is a major issues here, and it always has been. The property decided to hire a tow company within the last few months to try to resolve the issue. However, this has only made it worse for residents who live here. I have talked to multiple residents who have been towed multiple times. I have been towed, my boyfriend has been towed, and all of my neighbors have been towed. I’m not sure who Marisol Vista believes is parking here who shouldn’t be. The apartment is not close to downtown St. Pete, a beach, or anywhere where there would be overflow parking. Upon talking to management (who is wildly unhelpful), they admitted that there are not enough parking spaces. Yet towing of residents is still occurring. Also, a Uhaul when you move in/out is not guaranteed to not be towed per management. I’m not sure how they expect people to move in/out. There are multiple other issues that this place has presented me with, but the parking situation alone is enough for me to never recommend this place.

I'm sorry to hear about your frustration about parking. We do not tow our residents with decals unless they are in violation such as inoperable, flat tires, expired tags, double parked, parked in a handicap space with no handicap decal and so on. We are here to ensure we make our residents a priority. We have visitor spaces along with guest passes and even motorcycle spaces. Please let me know if you would like to further discuss this matter. Alicia - Property Manager - (844) 834-8968
The management sucks. Cockroaches and horrible parking. Towed new tenants car.
Property Manager at Marisol Vista Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
I'm very sorry to hear about any disturbances you've experienced. Did you receive a decal for your car? We do not tow resident vehicles. Further, if you're having any pest issues, please let me know as soon as possible. Treatments occur on Tuesdays, and I want to ensure you are scheduled for the next service. Either way, we are here to help - please consider giving me a call or swing by the office if you'd like to discuss this. I'd be glad to speak with you. Best, Alicia - Property Manager - (844) 834-8968
My car was towed although I pay rent to live there. Parking has always been an issue there. So as a “solution” this property decided to issue parking decals. That “solution” would probably help if this place was anywhere near any type of restaurant, bar, stadium, or even near downtown where other people park, but it’s not. I’m not sure who Marisol Vista believes is parking there that doesn’t live there. My car was towed, and the office did nothing about it. Ever since the parking decals have come out the situation has been even worse. Also, there’s only 25 visitors spots for a 550+ unit complex - so your guests will not be able to park there. This place has tons of issues including management. I can’t wait to move out!

I'm sorry for any disturbance or inconvenience you've experienced related to our parking offerings and regret you haven't had a better stay with us. I will make a note of the concerns you've raised as we constantly strive to evaluate and improve our community, but I also want to better understand the other ways in which we've fallen short, if you are willing. Please give me a call if that is the case - I'd be glad to connect. Thank you, Alicia - Property Manager - (844) 834-8968
Don’t waste your time with this place. Management is awful and unhelpful. There are tons of bugs even though you pay monthly for pest control. The dumpster is always overflowing. The buildings are old and there are a lot of leaks and bad repair jobs. No overhead fans and minimal lights inside the apartments. Parking is a nightmare - residents get towed and there not enough spots for residents or guests. Overall this place is not worth it at all.
Property Manager at Marisol Vista Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. This is worrying to hear, as the comfort and well-being of our residents are our foremost priority. I will look into the concerns you've raised here to ensure they have been properly addressed, but if you'd like to discuss this, I also invite you to give me a call. My line is (844) 834-8968 and I look forward to your call. Alicia - Property Manager
Infested with roaches, rats, and termites. Disgusting place to live. The coffee machine in the club house has been broken for over 3 years. How hard is it to replace the only coffee machine you have in the club house? Never any place to park for visitors who frequently get towed so don't ask people to come visit.
Property Manager at Marisol Vista Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
While we apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced, we think it is only fair to share some more information here. The coffee machine has been relocated and email communication was sent on this. Further, all pest control issues have been addressed, so if you are experiencing any further probelms, please contact the office to provide prep sheet for further treatment. As for parking, we do offer reserved rental spaces for our residents to ensure they always have a designated space for themselves or their guests. With that said, I would like to speak with you to see that your concerns have been fully and properly addressed. If you are willing, please give me a call at your earliest convenience. I hope to hear from you. Best, Alicia - Property Manager - (844) 834-8968
They have termites, roaches and rats. Want pest control? Good luck. They send someone to “treat” the unit and one day later the pest show up again. Their inability to communicate with residents is ridiculous. Maintenance is a joke. Dryers are so old that they make clothes smell burnt.
I am not being dramatic by using the term infested. I was so relieved when my lease was over. A lot of the positive reviews regarding the apartment is focused on the staff, and I think that it’s awesome the staff is great but it won’t matter when you’re living with roaches. I was too embarrassed to even have someone over. The apartment was treated but it did nothing.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!! This place is infested with mold, ants and roaches. Their office staff is completely unresponsive and will lie to you. I have pictures of the deplorable conditions of the apartment we were forced to stay in during the pandemic. The neighborhood, amenities and entire complex as a whole is filthy and unkempt. Our vanities were water damaged and rotting, windows were leaking damaging our carpet, bug infestation due to poor construction and SO MUCH MOLD growing inside our A/C unit. We begged them for MONTHS and put in requests for help and were ignored and left to breathe in mold spores. They refused to help us during a health crisis. They will overcharge you. These people are so unprofessional and awful.
This is a nice community but with a little attention to detail it could be a great place to live.
I fell in love with my apartment when I first moved in because of the large amount space and the views are the best you can get in St. Petersburg for the price. The location is also amazing if you’re looking for a central location between Tampa and Downtown St. Petersburg. The unit itself had rotted wood that keeps making cabinet doors come off. The AC unit was as old as the apartment (built in the 80s) and had drip pan filled with mold and buildup that hadn’t ever been replaced or repaired. In my opinion, if you can get a fully renovated unit that has updated cabinets with a replaced AC unit, you will be fine living here. Make sure to also ask if there is an infestation in your unit/building because unfortunately some people here at experiencing this. If you lease here, make sure to have Chris as your leasing agent because is one of the few people working there that will even care to help you. He is very on top of emails and will be happy to address your concerns.
The buildings are very old and they've done the minimal to make them look nice. Check inside cabinets, ect for the rotted out wood, watch for signs of roaches and termites because they outnumber the tenants here. Communal areas are nice but its not worth the hassle of the pests.
My experience has been for the most part good. However, I've seen issues with other tenants involving catastrophic failure.. typically water related that received in my mind unsatisfactory treatment.. Like I've said.. I've never experienced some of the maintenance issues others have but have seen it and heard what they went thru.
Excellent staff and maintenance...very friendly....highly recommended..
I have lived here for over a month and have enjoyed the lovely apartment and nice community. I like that there are a lot of young families with dogs like my own family. Its a quiet community and close to everything.
I love living at Marisol Vista.being living here since 2013, I'm happy to say all the maintenance guys are professional and prompt, the office staff are wonderful especial Samantha. It is a great location to live and the the only thing that's is missing in the apartments is a in door laundry. The only problems I have is kids running around next door and vibrating my furnitures sometimes, and people not picking up after the dogs.
The pool and clubhouse is beautiful, however the apartments are in horrible shape. Leasing staff and maintenance do not respond to emails or phone calls.
If I could i would give this place 0 stars. I have been here for 3 years and it has been one thing after another since I have moved in. Thank God my lease is up in the next month as I will not be resigning my lease.
My personal experience here at Marisol Vista has been very good.. Can't say that for some other residents who have shared their experiences with me and shown me the condition of the inside of their apartment.. Everything from black mold to standing water in the kitchen.. (like I really would volunteer to use an electrical appliance while standing in water)
Constant issues with maintenance (5 AC repair requests in the last 2 months) and the complex as a whole is dirty and dingy. Please, live somewhere else.
There are still bats living in our ceilings and walls. No work was completed. The exterior bat holes are still visible and being used by bats to enter and exit their home which is above our home. Bat poop is still visible on our exterior windows and exterior walls. We can hear bats in the walls still. Its unfortunate this still has not been addressed and I am considering other options to resolve this issue if no action is taking by BH Management. -Adam
Absolutely the worst place I've ever lived.
Marisol Vista is a nice place to living. The location leads to north, south east and west.
The staff is friendly, competent, and very customer service oriented!
Marisol Vista is one of the few apartment complexes I have lived in, where they keep their word and come up with solutions, every time I have a concern.
I enjoy living at Marisol Vista. The price is great and they keep the tenants engaged. Loved how they handled the virus and was still able to do move ins.
Want to thank Marisol Vista management for their calls, to check if everyting was ok with our move. Nicholas for his help and patience with my application. Maintenance for their quick response. Thank You All!
this property is trying their best in an uncertain time.
For the most part I love Marisol Vista. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Maintenance here is far superior to any other place I lived. Very friendly. I love the club house, gym, laundry and pools. I feel you are doing the best you can do in this time of crisis.
I just moved here from Ohio and so far the staff has been very quick to help with everything we have asked! We talked to Jenny when we first got here and she has been extremely kind and helpful!! I love going in to see her and she always has a smile and is ready to help!
I've lived here in four different apartments since 2006. Suffice to say, there have been many changes over the years. The current rental company has done a lot to clean the place up and innovate. The office staff is also great - Jenny B. has taken personal care of all of my concerns over the last few months. I don't foresee moving elsewhere in the near future.
Jenny was very helpful with my need of help. I had a question about my apartment, and she immediately came to my door to assist me!
My apartment has tested positive for black molded. The window leaked for over a year after installing a new one. It took months to fox the bathroom ceiling after a leak from the apparent upstairs. To break the lease they want 1700 dollars and 60 day notice. Their "fix" has been to clean nothin, only remove small patches of dry wall and replace it. ive called th health department, code enforcement, the news, and a lawyer. Theres only 6 washing machines and 6 dryers for all 528 units. Roaches and rats. dont move here.
I have lived my in apartment now for almost 2 years. You go to the office and complain but all they do is give you sticky pads and tell you someone will be there and never shows up. We pay all this money for service that we do not get it. We had to sleep in our car last night because this HUGE RAT was invading our home. This is ridiculous, then I found out the last person that lived in my apartments moved for the same reasons. I wish I can break my lease without penalties. Does someone know how us tenants can get results, before we all start sleeping in our cars.
Live here for a year and a half for the sole reason that it was cheap. Dealt with roaches, rats, flooding, mold, property damage due to maintenance people, come into your home without permission or notice, crumbling walls, busting water pipes. They promote renters insurance because they like to avoid fixing things. Have watched many people move in and move out right away. The office will ignore you, maintenance and corporate will also. The renovations are for show. Now that rent is drastically going up there is no reason to stay here! New management hasn't changed anything except trying to cover it up. If I could move now without paying additional fees I would move tonight!
If you want to live with rats and bug infested apartments then this is the place you want to be at. Flooding problems Bug problems Mold issues Terrible maintenance that does not respond to your service calls. Office people are extremely rude and never return calls They come into your apartments without any type of permission
From day one of my arrival my apartment has been a total disaster! My key to my door wasn't the right key, It wasn't move in ready my shower wasn't put together I have cracks in my wall, the carpet didn't look the best for it looked as though it was separating from the wall and as if they tried to clean it but didn't do a good job! Currently I have water spots in my ceiling and mold it looks like in my shower! My ac is making a loud noise and is not blowing properly, I've had a issue with my toliet over flowing my sink as well! I am very disappointed and it seems that all the money I paid to move in here was a total waste.
The staff aren't nothing but lairs tell you one thing & then act like they don't know what they told you. Wayne is the biggest one there. The complex isn't clean at all your apartment isn't going to look like the one they show you. Bugs are always coming through the vents. Maintenance never came to my apartment once & I called multiple times about issues I was having. I'm very confident this place will be getting brought out by someone else because of their bad reputation.
I have been living here for a while. It is quiet kept clean. My apartment is spacious and the rent is reasonable. The maintenance staff is considerate and the work orders are completed in a timley manner. The office staff are also polite and I appreciate that the office is open 7 days a week. Lots of kids around also.
These apartments are the worst! People thatlive here are pigs with no respect for other peoples belongings! The staff talks a good game but they don't repair anything they only put a band aid on it. Under our carpets are rocks thru out the apt. I am always falling from stepping on one. Bugs come from other apts and bug man is useless. The list goes on. The real problem is we are stuck here. Husband and I are on SS.and the rent suits our income. I have NEVER lived in these conditions before and I am scared. I stay in my apt. all day and night until my husband is home.
Eh it's a roof over our heads... maintenance is kinda lazy the front office is fair and reasonable four pool we live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath 3 people currently living kinda wish it was a 2 bath and bigger lol but than my review it's oooooookay
We moved in to our two bedroom apartment in December 2014. It's very spacious with plenty of closet space. Very affordable and since the buildings are older the walls are pretty well insulated to keep noise from travelling far and the AC from overworking. I would say the one complaint I have is there isn't enough parking, so we pay for carports to have a spot. I've never been woke up by neighbors or people outside in the middle of the night. If you want to keep your monthly rent below $750 a month and still have space, this is the beat complex in St. Pete.

Although there still needs a lot of unpacking and some repairs I feel at home and mostly at peace. I love the idea the pool is just steps away from my apartment. I am grateful for the large patio. Grateful that management worked so hard to get me this place. I love the fact that I am now just minutes away from the art society where I paint.
I visited the complex, filled out the application approved same day.
I have a huge space for a small amount of money. Whenever I call the office Felicia helps me; quickly. Few maintenance issues (been here 5 months) but they get solved quickly...plus my place is a little bit older than the rest so it's kinda expected. I've seen 2 cockroaches but I just came from up North and I'm assuming that's expected (it is Florida afterall). Neighbors aren't friendly but they aren't mean - everyone is pretty quiet. Occasional loud couple arguing but, again, it's an apartment complex. Overall I give this place a 94%. Only major complaint is that there's only one dumpster for the whole place (it's a gigantic trash compactor) and it's alllll the way up front and I live all the way in the back.
My husband and I can't wait to move out. The management is terrible. They are charging us more than we were originally told. We are constantly receiving three day evict notices even though we've paid our rent every month, and there is a computer error on their end. The staff is rude and disorganized. Good things: spacious apartment, good amount of storage, good maintenance...but that's it.... Would not suggest for anyone to live here because of the management issues we have had. We can't trust them.
It's a shame, because when I first moved in, I absolutely loved it here. My 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment is HUGE, with tons of closet space, a large kitchen, it's in a very convenient location, and it's dirt cheap. However, we soon discovered that when it gets even remotely warm outside (or basically the sun shines,) the master bedroom got ridiculously hot and was always about 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the apartment. I had to try to find somewhere that sells fans in the middle of winter to put in my room so that I could sleep at night. Okay, fine, not a huge deal, but then the weather got warmer. Both I and my roommate are extremely careful with electricity usage, so in the winter months, it was great. (Despite the necessity of the fan.) However, as soon as it was time to turn on the AC, we ran into serious problems. First, the AC just ran all the time and did a fairly decent job of cooling the main part of the apartment, but I don't think I got any AC at all in the master bedroom because it was ridiculously hot. However, soon the AC started dying. Trying to save energy, we would set the temperature to 80 while we left for work, but it still would be running when we got home (and was constantly running) because it couldn't even get down to 80. Our apartment stayed at 80- to 90-something degrees, and we called the emergency maintenance line numerous times. Each time, someone would come over and try to fiddle with something, and while it may work for about 24 to 48 hours, it was never a permanent fix. I haven't even been living in my own apartment for the last month and a half to two months or so because as I write this, it is Aug. 1 and we've basically been living without AC all summer in Florida. Needless to say, the heat is unbearable, so I've had to crash at someone else's apartment a few miles away in order to sleep at night or even function. Finally, after numerous requests and showing up to the office in person several times, we got a new AC unit installed, but that still hasn't completely fixed the problem. When the sun goes down, it can get down to 78 degrees, but it can't even get down that low during the day, so it runs constantly, wasting more electricity, even though it still is about 83 degrees inside. Needless to say, our electric bills are ridiculous, with all this waste from the useless AC running constantly, even though we haven't gotten any of the benefit of cooler temperatures. (If we turn it off completely, though, it can exceed 93 degrees, and that's even worse than it already has been.) It's been a long headache trying to get any compensation for the electric bills and discomfort of the unlivable conditions from management and still have not come to an agreement as of this writing. Meanwhile, our refrigerator died TWICE, losing at least some food in it each time. After the first time it died, they apparently replaced it with another really old unit. This time we have demanded a new fridge and are still waiting to see if they come through with that. Other maintenance issues have been nuisances, such as the main toilet having significant flushing issues for 6 months before they finally fixed it properly, despite numerous requests for service. I don't mind the fact that the apartments are old and nothing fancy because I loved the space and price so much, but the lack of leadership and failure to effectively fix serious maintenance issues is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I will not be renewing my lease and am just hanging on until it gets cooler and my lease is up.

I have to agree, this is a very dirty, nasty place to live. All the amenities are always filthy, the grounds are dirty with trash all over. Neighbors are rude and with no common sense when it comes to being aware of being a nuisance to their neighbors. Nobody picks up after their pets, trash outside doors in hallways. Laundry rooms have no a/c with trash all over and water in washers that have been sitting for days which therefore stinks. The pools are always dirty and with people drinking from glass bottles. People throw up in hallways. Bugs are all over that you can't get rid of because your neighbors are pigs. The police are always here breaking up fights. A very sad and sorry state for the enormous rent rates and lack of clean and decent amenities. Just like the other writer wrote: "BEWARE!"
