Downtown Baton Rouge lies just east of the Mississippi River in the middle of the city and blends a rich history with a modern flare. Four unique neighborhoods come together in this locale: Historic Beauregard Town, Historic Spanish Town, the city's Central Business District, and Capitol View North. The area's intriguing vista includes buildings older than Baton Rouge itself, which nestle next to contemporary structures. Apartments in historic buildings offer residents a real taste of Louisiana history. Plenty of green space and beautiful waterfront views put the finishing touches on downtown's enchanting atmosphere.
Locals regularly gather in Arsenal Park, which sits right next to Capitol Lake between Capitol Lake Drive and Capitol Access Road. Gorgeous flower gardens and winding paths make the park a favorite walking destination for downtown residents. Popular local restaurants, shops, and museums can be found around the district as well.

Property Ratings at Maritime One
Living here was a complete nightmare. The lease stated you weren’t allowed to write online reviews which should have been the first red flag. As another reviewer stated, management was SO rude and never took care of a thing. I can’t even list how many issues I had while living here, but it got so bad that the tenants made a complaint poster (which was of course taken down). As cute looking as my unit was, it was literally unlivable for most of my lease and none of this was ever remedied. About half the units were available as I moved out it had gotten so bad. Hopefully things have improved since then, but I doubt that if it is the same owner as he was truly an awful human. And beware, if you have a ceiling leak in your unit, it will continue to leak every single time and management will never do a single thing about it. And I’m talking buckets of water every time it rained.
This was the absolute worst management for an apartment that I have ever dealt with. Never answer the phone, never respond to emails, completely disrespect tenants, the list goes on. I couldn't wait to move out of here and even after I moved out, they withheld almost my entire security deposit of $500 for "cleaning fees". When I moved in, the previous tenants left a sonic cup in the freezer of the fridge and the apartment was NOT cleaned. When questioning the management about this, no response was given. I warn you, do not live here.
