The City of Huntington remains a center for arts and culture in the Mountain State. In its early days, the Ohio River provided the lifeblood to the city as steamships carrying coal and timber from the surrounding peaks used Huntington as a port. Today, it thrives as a lively city and has preserved many historic buildings by converting them into eclectic shops and restaurants. Ritter Park Historic District contains more than 70 historic homes, most exemplifying notable 20th century architecture.
Additionally, Huntington houses Marshall University which sits in the city’s center. The presence of the campus also contributes heavily to the art scene. The Red Caboose is a highly raved about art gallery in walking distance of Harris Riverfront Park. When large crowds pour into the community for a university football game, visitors and locals enjoy getting around the community by way of the Amtrak railway and Interstate 64.

Property Ratings at Mark Allen Townhomes
This place has really gone downhill since the new management took over. Like other reviews, no one answers the phone and when they rarely do they are very rude. They won't have anyone cut the grass for weeks. No one will pick up the stray garbage next to the dumpster that animals get into and drag around. Definitely not worth the price you pay to live here.
New management and maintenance is terrible. They never answer the phone and therefore do not return calls. When they do occasionally answer the phone, Maintenance will only semi fix one item on the list and then gets disrespectful (along with management) when you have to call them back about the issue. Grass wasn’t trimmed for WEEKS. We loved living here before the old management left. We cannot wait for our lease to be up!
The apartments are great for small families. The neighbors are very respectful and friendly. There's a parking area, swimming pool, and basketball/tennis court for residents as well as a dumpster. Rent is moderate. The apartment come with HVAC, water heater and dishwasher, and a refrigerator. Management is very kind and responds quickly to maintenance issues. They also have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of discrimination. Been living here for a while and It feels safe, however, drivers sometimes speed up on the small roads. You should definitely keep an eye if you have kids.
We moved to Mark Alan Townhouses because it is a great area for families. Our townhouse is a comfortable size for our family and our children love that they have a pool and basketball court to play at in their backyard. The area is quiet and the apartment managers have been very helpful and accommodating!
I have been living in these townhouses for two years. This is one of the safe, nice, clean and very much quite neighborhood places that I have experienced. If you need any help with your apartment repairing Mr Lee is always there within a few hours. I would recommend anyone that I know in need of la nice place to stay
I love living here at Mark Alan Townhomes. No loud, unnecessary noises. The neighbors are great. Management is 100% great and will do anything for you! I would most definitely recommend these apartments to anyone!
These Townhomes Are in a Great Area, Family oriented neighbors have always been nice ?? Cindy & Her Husband have always been very helpful with any issues that you would have. And the pool is a bonus in summer. Rent is ideal price point!
We have been here 5 years and we are very satisfied with this complex. They had a move-in special, one free month's rent at the time, and that came in handy. The rent is reasonable here and it is generally very quiet at night. If there are maintenance issues, the management is really quick to respond. Management is friendly. The Mark Alan Townhouses are convenient to the Barboursville area businesses, including several grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. There is a laundry facility, tennis/basketball court, and pool available to tenants. This is a good place to live!
These are great townhouses in a great area. I love my townhouse here and will always recommend it to others. The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The pool area is lovely. I love my HOME!
This is a very clean and quiet place to live. My neighbors are nice and quiet. This is a family friendly place and also nice for singles. They have a nice pool for our use. The downfall here is the size of the kitchen (extremely small) and that they could really use some updates. Also, it would be nicer if they each had a larger patio.
