Property Ratings at Market Station
Overall, Market Station is a great apartment complex with a prime location, good quality, and a great leasing office and maintenance staff. I lived in a studio apartment for 3 years there and only had to submit one maintenance ticket for something other than a light bulb being out. I spent most of the time living there working from home due to the pandemic and while it’s doable, I think the studio is better for people who are going into the office. The quality of the apartments is fine, but if you’re looking for luxury there’s better and newer apartments in the area. It is a dog friendly complex with plenty of potty stations and a fenced in area between buildings 3 and 4 for dogs to be off leash. Moving out was an easy process and I didn’t get hit with any expensive fees or repairs afterwards. The prices they’re charging now seem a little high to me for what you get, but overall I think they’re in the best neighborhood in KC.

I’d live here for 5 more years if I could! I had to move to a different city but Market Station was by far my favorite place I’ve ever been a tenant at. They make you feel like family and accommodate anything you need. It’s almost like living at a resort because the service is so great. I never had one single maintenence issue in my 2 bedroom/2 bath the entire time I lived there. That has never happened before. It was also the place I felt the safest. The fob entry parking garage, 4-digit codes on all outer doors, and key to the unit are very effective in keeping non-residents out. The location was great. You were 2 minutes from I-70 and I-35. KU hospital is less than ten minutes and the street car is 2 blocks away. Takes you right to Alamo Drafthouse for a movie and dinner or Power and Light for a night out! Of course, City Market is walking distance with restaurants, flowers, produce, etc. It’s like it’s own cool little hip village and you never really feel in any danger. Between the amazing staff at a Market Station and the location of the complex, I’d recommend this to anyone, especially young people in the city. It’s new, it’s clean, the layouts are beautiful. Definitely add it to your list when you’re looking to move.

We love hearing that life at Market Station is "like living at a resort"! Thanks so much for the wonderful review. We're sorry to see you go, but you know you're always welcome back as our resident!
Living at market station has been a great way for me to dip into city living without some of the major stresses it typically brings. The included, assigned, parking space in a garage was huge for me, I don?t have to pay per month and I don?t have to stress about finding a spot! The pool and extra common areas has been a great way to meet new people, and even though I don?t have a dog, I?ve consideded getting one because there is so much yard space and close areas to walk a pet. I like living downtown, while still being in river market which is its own community and feels separate from the rest of the city while being walking distance from bars and restaurants. I like the management here too, I?ve never had any issues with them.
Overall the property is great! I live facing the river so the train can be noisy at times but that's the price you pay for a great view. Location is great, management is super friendly and so are the maintenance guys that work on the building. It was a bit annoying to find out that our rent went up this year after I had toured the apartments with another friend and the monthly rent they were offering was significantly lower to new residents. I love how pet friendly it is. I wish other residents would take care of the common areas a little better (brand new grill already has a broken and knob and no one cleans it). Parking is great and affordable for the area.
This property is amazing. I move around a lot for work and have lived at a lot of different places, but none compare to Market Station. The resident events are so fun. And they do them regularly. The pool and courtyards are always clean!! The office staff is personable, professional, and so kind. They really make you feel like you belong. Seriously, this property is one of a kind!!!
My living experience at Market Station has been wonderful! The staff is very friendly and always willing to help if needed!

We love living here, and we love our unit. Amanda, Clinton, Morgan, and Denton have been so great. And I also appreciate the maintenance team, they are always very accommodating. I am still having trouble with a neighbor who has a dog that cries, whines, and howls during the day, but I know Amanda and Clinton have been working to figure out where the noise is coming from. Overall we are very happy here.
We have lived in this community for about 6 years. This is our 3rd apartment. We find the office staff to be very attentive. Package acceptance is super handy. They do a great job organizing social activities. The maintenance staff is super responsive. They are all very courteous and professional. The update to the lobby area looks great. Not to say we have not had issues from time to time. All are resolved quickly. I have recommended Market Sation to friends. It is great having them in the building.
The managament is hands down the best I?ve ever experienced in an apartment. The reps are normal people who are extremely professional, kind, and empathetic and when things go wrong. The pool area and hot tub are great, along with the gym. The apartment is beautiful and doesn?t feel cheap. The only downside to living here is there is a small, but loud group of 30 somethings who often get drunk and break curfew. You?ll hear them in the courtyards with loud music until 2 or 3 am on weeknights. It sucks because I love living here, but there are too many nights that these people wake me up. I would consider paying more rent if they could have a full time security guard here during the night hours.
Living at Market Station has been great. From the beginning of being able to pick out colors for accent walls it was easy to make our apartment a home. Being in walking distance from the river market and the street car has been so fun. Staff and maintenance has been helpful and responsive. I cannot complain.
It's a fun, nice and clean apartment complex with excellent staff.
Beautiful downtown oasis with safe contained outdoor spaces and great public hosting spaces.
Wonderful staff, great price, great amenities
The experience living at the property has been overall enjoyable. The maintenance staff is always prompt in terms of getting something checked out, the front desk staff is very helpful, and the grounds are well-kept. It is a mild inconvenience that there are not as many elevators for the complex. The largest problem I have at the complex is that the energy bills on the top floor are extremely high compared to other units in the building, but that's a function of being on the top floor.
Apartments are great and the staff is amazing. Location is perfect for living near downtown Kansas City.
It's great. I enjoy my apartment, the location of Market Station, and the amenities. I wish that some options for freshening of paint/other updates were offered for people who renew.
As a transplant Market Station has allowed me meet a lot of people and make friends!
So far, the living experience has been great. Move-in was easy and we have felt well informed about the property. Our apartment is fantastic and everyone in the office has been so helpful and kind. We love it here.
Great location, safe and comfortable
Management is very responsive to residents concerns
Market Station has amazing units in a great location with fantastic staff. It does a great job at keeping me close to the heart of downtown where my job is whilst also making me feel as though I have my own separate space.
It?s great. I love living here.
I absolutely love everything about market station. Literally the only thing I would change is the wall color.
Very happy with all of the services and the administration. Good rent for the quality. Amenities are nice. Friendly environment. Quick and efficient management. Highly recommend to anyone!

Thank you so much for the great review! The staff at Market Station thanks you for being a loyal resident. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more pleasant.
Terrible place to live - please do your research on other properties before you throw any money at this place. Last minute policy changes essentially make it impossible to have a roommate and split payments (from March - October split checks were fine for rent, but suddenly in November it changed and caused a major problem with my situation). Staff and MAA corporate office apparently justify this because they "have too many problems with one check clearing and one not," which indicates to me they either don't screen their tenants very well or their greed is more important than accommodating good tenants. Apparently, making a chart to outline assigned parking spots is too much work for them, as well, since we paid $120 a month for two spots and one day, another car was parked in our spot and we found out they gave our spot to someone else because of a clerical error. That particular day my roommate had to park on the roof and his car got dinged by a another car door. MarketStation and MAA BOTH were notified and neither hardly blinked an eye. For over $1400 a month, this place is basically legal robbery. Summer pool parties are horribly loud - if you're a professional, be ready to hear drunk idiots screaming in the very echo-prone hallways at all hours of the night. You hear everything inside your apartment from the hallway. But don't have a dinner party, yourself - we had the cops called on us at 9pm on a Saturday for apparently being too loud while a DJ blasted music at the pool outside our place at the same time. I move out in March and I am counting down the days - there are so many better places in this area to give this place your money!
I love these apartments! Nice kitchens, big bathrooms and closets, lots of storage. But the best part is being downtown and the highway access!
Staff is very helpful and friendly which i have not had in past renting places. Walking distance to a lot of great food and downtown KC. Feel safe in the neighborhood. living mostly around young professionals, very friendly have met a ton of people just around the apartment complex. Parking hasnt been a problem with the garage and your near the city market for farmers market on the weekend, plus walking down along the river. Highly recommend!
My wife and I wanted to get an apartment in the city so that we could be closer to work and enjoy the benefits of the River Market area. We had a pretty difficult time finding an apartment that allowed larger dogs and high end finishes. This was one of two that we found in the area and this was definitely the better price. Being right on the river is great and there is a walking trail straight to a nearby park!
Downtown City Life living at its finest! Love living here at Market Station in the River Market. Community is nice with friendly staff & super pet friendly!! Parking garage attached it convenient! Layout is perfect for roommates with two bathrooms and both bedrooms with huge walk in closets!! Great restaurants , bars, antiquing, & of course The City Market. It's our own little community down here away from the hustle & noise of P&L, yet still within walking distance.
