The city leadership in Wilkes-Barre has worked hard to promote a “walk-to-everything” lifestyle, with a general layout that is very friendly to pedestrians. This is particularly noticeable around the downtown area, where apartments, businesses, and public parks are all easily accessible on foot.
Just behind King’s College, River Common offers walking trails, a boat launch, an amphitheater, and plenty of space to just relax and enjoy a view of the Susquehanna River. The Public Square serves as the venue for outdoor events throughout the year, from the weekly farmer’s market to the annual Fine Arts Fiesta. Mohegan Sun Arena hosts larger sports and entertainment events regularly.
The ski areas and state parks surrounding Wilkes-Barre are very popular with tourists, and residents get to enjoy full access to these natural attractions year-round.

Property Ratings at Marlboro Place Apartments
This is a really miserable place to live. It's overpriced and the property is poorly maintained. The maintenance crew is incompetent. There are frequent mouse infestations. And worst of all, Janice, the property manager, is a nightmare to deal with. There's plenty of apartments to choose from in Wilkes-Barre. Go somewhere else.
Worst place in the world to live in, i lived at this place for 2 years and all that i had was problem and headaches, there is really poor management, the manager is really disrespectful, Rude and it’s never willing to help the residents of the apartment. The apartment are over priced and they up your rent every year, the maintenance of the apartment are horrible and Everything old. The hallways smell
Apartments are old and overpriced. The hallways smell and some residents are noisy. The manager is very rude and maintenance is not always responsive. Even if your apartment is left clean and without damage, you only receive half of your deposit back.
