Property Ratings at Marley Lofts
Don’t even waste your time I’ve lived in this building almost 3 years already 3 management changes, terribly managed, not kept up , go over and take a look at the graffiti on the building as well the elevator, it’s upsetting because the proile written about the building is BS . Written 10/10/23
Management has absolutely been ignoring all of the maintenance request for tenants for years now! It is absolutely not worth the price they are asking. Elevators never work, water turns off randomly, black, mold in many units, AC heater is always going out, rude and dangerous Doormen, the list goes on. The building is being sued by hundreds of tenants.
Have lived here 18+ months, and FPI management is a genuine nightmare. You’ll pay thousands of dollars a month for: 1) One working elevator at best (out of three so get used to the stairs!) 2) Zero communication, response, or assistance from management (you’ll wait months for whatever needs repairs or attention) 3) Regularly not having warm or hot water (you’ll still have to pay full rent even in months with 15+ days of no water available) 4) Amenities like the pool, gym, and laundry machines which are defunct, broken, and closed for several months at a time (only been able to use each maybe 2 times in over a year) 5) I can write a novel about how horrible living here is. It’s always something major, and I never feel like I can relax in my home. The community is filled with overdoses and murders, squatters, break-ins and thieves (security is a joke), and the absolutely terrible management is the cherry on top.. I genuinely loved my space and apartment, but everything I’ve been through over the last year makes me wish I never moved in to begin with. FPI (and previous managements) have lost several cases (and are still currently in active litigation) with dozens of current tenants. Run.
SB Lofts was great until Greystar took over. It’s nice living here if you can deal with only one working elevator and your maintenance requests ignored. Otherwise, live elsewhere.
This has been the worst experience in my whole life of renting. Terrible security, they are rude, I was shouted at because I didn’t hear a guard say something to me. Management never answer calls, do not help when you go into the office, they ghost you constantly. The building is dirty, lighting is terrible. Vagrants in the building. There are four elevators and only one works going up, that also breaks all the time. Mold on my walls, water pipes constantly breaking and flooding units. I had to move out after 10 months, it was the worst, worst place and never felt safe here, or respected as a tenant. The manager never helps, she ignores your requests to speak to her, so many horrible things happened in this building, just to much to even put on here. Greystar should be ashamed!!
I have lived in the same loft for 15 years and the quality of management, security, and living conditions have declined sharply in the last 6 months, since Greystar took over managing the buildings. Roaches and vermin are more present, maintenance doesn't respond to requests, packages are missing frequently, transients are wandering our hallways, and there is a major lack of security, among many other things.
Greystar may be the most incompetent group of people I have ever had the misery of confronting.
I have lived in LA since 2007 and rented from multiple buildings around the city in my time here. I have never been treated so badly by a rental management company as I have since Greystar started managing SB Lofts on April 6, 2022. I actually loved living in SB Lofts before they took over and now it is a nightmare. My maintenance requests are ignored, I am treated like a nuisance when I complain at the office to have things fixed. I was given a pay or quit notice when I have paid my rent on time every month which is harassment. The building feels incredibly unsafe. There has been an uptick in break-ins. Transient people get into the buildings because there is no real adequate security. Security guards will be away from their desks for multiple hours at a time.
Property Manager at Marley Lofts, Responded To This Review
Hi, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. We'd like the opportunity to discuss your concerns regarding your unit. Please reach out to us directly if this is something you are open to. Thank you, SB Communities
Don’t move here, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Horrible experiences since new management came in. No communication from new management on changes, such as changes on front door entry system. Also, poor handling of the air conditioning issue we endured all summer long. Additionally, rude security at front desk whom blatantly dislike retrieving our packages or lose our packages altogether. I no longer feel safe in this building, security does not clear the back alley way from unwanted loitering, which is where my family and I primarily enter the building. Often no security present at night time, and security argues with residents. This transition has been exceptionally traumatic for my son, myself, and my partner and I hope to leave this property asap.
