Hoover is a neighborhood in North Fresno, far enough from the city center for residents to enjoy a quieter and more suburban lifestyle while still being only 15 minutes away from the excitement of downtown. Fresno, California’s largest inland city, sits about 150 miles east of the Pacific coast and about 40 miles west of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The ethnic diversity of Fresno gives it a depth of heritage and makes it a hub of culture and commerce. Fresno County holds a place as the nation’s agricultural capital, with billions of dollars in annual produce sales from crops such as almonds, grapes, cotton, nectarines and peaches. People continue to seek out Fresno neighborhoods such as Hoover for their blend of character, affordability and family friendliness.

Property Ratings at Maroa Park Apartments
Make sure to take detailed pics of your apartment when you move in. When I left there they tried to charge me several times for damages that were present at the time I moved in. Luckily I took pictures w/time stamps to prove they were lying and they still took 1/2 my deposit. Management is rude and will nickel-and-dime you throughout your stay. Make sure to document any communication w/them through their email. Even if they don't reply you will have proof that you brought it to their attention and will be able to establish a timeline if necessary. They always gave me a hard time whenever I had to place a work-order even threatening to charge me for the repair. We always were on time w/the rent and gave them no trouble yet they treated us in a very hostile manner. Not sure why. Great location and well kept but the management is unfortunately not tenant friendly. Best of luck.
I’ve moved away and always moved back to this spot. Great side of town. The staff really takes care of the grounds. It is well kept and clean at all times. Lupe and Bridget have always been welcoming and taken good care of any issues or requests that I have had. If you are going to rent, you won’t find this level of class, cleanliness and prestige any where else for this price point. - Arman
Do not let the landscaping of this property fool you. They only regularly keep up the buildings near the office, leaving the rest of the property unattended and overgrown. The staff is rude and harasses tenants and their guests with every chance they get, Lupe being the worst! Lupe is totally unapproachable. Not helpful at all. I have stayed in the 1 bedroom, and now a 2 bedroom and there is no difference in quality. Both suck. The apartment itself is not of luxury quality (small, old appliances, thin single pane windows that do not latch well, walls so thin you can hear your neighbors conversations, the list goes on...) and the parking is almost non-existent after 5pm. They also have a horrible bug problem! Pools and spa are always gross, and the jets don't work in the spa. They claim that the bugs are water beetles that come during summer but they look more like roaches and they NEVER leave no matter how clean you are!! The water on the property is constantly shut off. The maintenance workers do not listen to tenant requests, they brush off any requests or suggest what YOU should do instead of them taking care of things, and they send the maid to do their dirty work! The maid here is constantly sent out to investigate and spy on tenants and their guests if you're unlucky enough to be targeted. Dumpster Divers are always around, security is lacking as well. This place is awful, they run it as if they're paying your bills (meaning you have NO say and NO FREEDOM). This complex does not feel like home, if it were gated I would mistake it for a jail.
I really loved living here, safe environment and the outsides are kept really clean. Management can be a little stingy when it comes to the "refer a friend" and don't expect any deposits back no matter how clean you leave it. Not much storage space and you're not allowed to store anything outside either, if you do you will be pestered by staff. Rent is increased each lease with no upgrades to apartment, appliances are very old but still in good working order. Overall I loved calling this place home, has some small set back with management but perfect for first apartment or living alone.
Overall, a great community! Location is close to everything. The property is always clean and well groomed. One thing that I like is that they are strict and everyone follows the rules. I moved into a 2 bedroom apartment near the courtyard where the model apartment is located and it's so quiet! I must say that I am happy the property manager lives above the model apartment to keep an eye on things. I would recommend it here if you're looking for onsite management and security!
I've lived here for quite some time now and it seems that they cannot keep a leasing agent longer than a yr! I really liked Evelyn and come to hear when I paid my rent that she's no longer with the company really upset me! Between her and Bridget I believe they ran the property smoothly always caring about my every concern and taking care of it promptly. And then to top it off the long time maintenance man gerome is gone! They say he's on vacation but I know that's a load of bull! They beat around the bush instead of being truthful. They have a new maintenance guy that doesnt speak one word of english and he has no clue what he is doing! Not to mention he is always on his phone! I will be putting my 30 day notice in may after being her 6 years because I can't handle the constant change in staff and also the constant raise in rents with nothing in return. No upgrades, not even a simple carpet cleaning!! Cheap cheap! I'm out!
There were a lot of different places I was looking into when I began my search for an apartment. After narrowing it down to three I began setting up appointments to visit the premises. When I went to my appointment at Maroa Park I was immediately impressed. Evelyn made sure that every question I had was answered and accommodated all my needs. The landscaping was well kept, the neighborhood was quiet (especially for how close it is to many busy locations), and the price was very reasonable. I immediately knew this is where I wanted to be. I moved into my new apartment on 12/1/2017 (which they worked extremely hard to get me in on the day I requested) and I have been extremely pleased ever since. I have the 2 Bedroom 2 Bath single story model which has the washer and dryer hookup in it. It is very spacious and you don't feel like everything is on top of you. It is definitely worth every penny! I have been here for 4 months now and I see myself being here long term. The maintenance responses are prompt, usually within a few hours of requesting, the staff is very pleasant, neighbors are kind, quiet, and respectful, and it is been just an overall great experience. If you are looking for somewhere to live, look no further!
I have just moved into this apartments and I most say it's been a very easy and pleasant surprise. The process didn't take long to get approved and the staff was very helpful and patient throughout the entire process. Apartments are very clean and unbelievably quiet. The apartments feel as if everything has is own place nothing feels as if it's cramped into place. So if your in the Fresno area and looking for an apartment Maroa park apartments are what you looking for!
My roommate and I recently moved in a little over a week ago. We had to wait a month before our move in date, but the ladies at the front were very helpful in keeping us updated and helping us get our paperwork done and everything was efficient. Then once move in came they made it very simple and smooth so we were able to get started in our new place! Over-all very helpful people and the place is working out great.
Staff is very informative and keeps you up to date on everything. Apartments are well kept and affordable. Calm and friendly environment.
Resided at Maroa for the past year and have nothing but wonderful things to say. The ladies in the front office are nice and so are the people in the complex. The location is very convenient which is one of the main reasons why we decided for it. We also liked that the pools, gym, and tennis court were kept clean and running. The apartments themselves are comfortable with plenty of space!
My fiancé and I have lived here for two months now and appreciate the peace and serenity that these luxury apartments have to offer. The interior of the units is up to date with efficient energy saving appliances. We have also found the apartment layouts to be very functional and cozy. The office management is very kind and professional. Since living here we have needed a couple things repaired and the office and maintenance staff was highly responsive and timely in the matters. We look forward to living here throughout the seasons. Aaron.
My experience with Maroa Park Apartments has been awesome! I recently moved in and the process was smooth even though I was from out of town.. There was no available apartment went i first looked but i was still able to tour a model. When something came available I called and was able to start the process asap. The front office ladies are amazing and any issues that I've had they've addressed immediately. They have been incredibly welcoming and friendly. The amenities of these this apartment complex are wonderful and well maintained. There are several pools on property and a fitness room available. I would highly recommend the apartments, I love my new home!
Pretty bitter overall experience after living at Maroa Park apartments. To be fair, the apartment complex does have some good things going for it, however, the general manager's indifference creates a poor environment for tenants to live in. The apartment grounds look very presentable and the maintenance employees did a decent job of handling the issues as they arose. The biggest issue this apartment complex has is an utter lack of security at night. The presentable territory during the day time is open for anyone to drive or walk through at night, and as a result it becomes a free-for-all, at the expense of the tenants. My car got broken into 3 times during the course of a year, and the license plate stolen, on top of countless dumpster divers and lurkers that visit the complex at night. We never felt safe, and it was the main reason why we moved out. The security service cruising through the apartment a couple times per night does nothing to deter the criminal activity taking place. No other action was taken to effectively address any of the issues I mentioned above, and as a result, I would not recommend Maroa Park apartments as a safe property to live in.
My husband and I love living at Maroa Park Apartments. The office staff is fantastic. They deal with maintanence issues in a timely manner. And all the staff is friendly, curtious, and professional. The apartments are quiet and peaceful and very well maintained. There are 2 beautiful swimming pools, tennis courts, a gym. I would very highly recommend Maroa Park Apartments.
I really like living at Maroa Park! My bf and I have been here for over a yr and have never been happier. The parking is great, my neighbors are great and its so close to our jobs. The office staff are always on top of it, always greeting us with a smile. Maintenance always has been quick in getting work orders done in my home. Im also happy with what my rent is especially in this part of town. The only bummer in my opinion is that although they allow cats they require them to remain indoors. I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking.
I moved into Maroa Park about 3 months ago and everything about the apartment itself is great! I have just recently been having problems with the manager, Lupe. I have some guests who stay over night once in a while and they leave their car parked by the front until about 9 AM. My guests are constantly getting flyers on their car in the morning warning them to move their vehicle, and the manager harasses me as well about their vehicle. Apparently it's a "rule" that guests can't park their cars in the GUEST parking spots after 8:30 AM. How does this make any sense??? Where else are guests supposed to park their cars? No one wants to park on the street because everyone's cars get broken into. (So maybe there should be enforced security?) And how would guests be aware of this rule if residents don't even know about it. I am tired of getting harassed about my guests car every time they come to visit. If the office has such a huge problem with parking they should put up signs stating what times the guest spots are available to park in.
My girlfriend and I moved here almost a year ago. Since then, no complaints. The office staff have been super helpful. They always responded when we had any questions and they were always super nice. The grounds are well kept and it's super quiet here. We've never had any noise complaints. The only "downfalls" if you want to be picky, are that the appliances are out-dated, but they work great! My only true complaint is the laundry room near 501 is hard to unlock. But thats really all. The only reason we're leaving is because we want to get a dog. If they allowed dogs, we'd definitely stay. :) if you want a great roof over your head, quiet grounds, comfortable living, affordable price, then definitely rent here!
In the 10 years I have lived in Fresno I have had 3 wonderful opportunities to live at Maroa Park Apartments. The apartment sizes are great. The one bedroom includes a stackable washer & dryer. The two bedroom has the W/D hook ups. Otherwise they also have laundry rooms on the property that are kept clean and in working condition. Despite having plenty of families that live at Maroa Park, the complex is always quiet and well maintained. Everyone is courteous, from the office staff, to the maintenance crew, to the neighbors. Fireplaces are included for those chilly winter nights. There are two sparkling clean pools on the property that are also well maintained. The trash is regularly dumped twice a week so there is no trash build up. There is plenty of parking for you, the resident, as well as your guests. If you don't have transportation, the complex is just a short walk to Blackstone and all the bus lines. Walmart on Herndon is also within walking distance. For the kids, there is an elementary school right down the street. For the price you just can't beat it. If ever there is a maintenance issue the staff at Maroa Park are excellent in getting it fixed. My air conditioner wasn't getting as cold as it should which I discovered on a late Saturday after work. The maintenance staff was there the very next day to fix it. The day was a Sunday during the 4th of July weekend. No excuses or could you wait until Monday. They were there bright and early Sunday morning. I would highly recommend Maroa Park to anyone who is looking for a clean, quiet, affordable luxury apartment.
My girlfriend and I moved in a few months ago and have really enjoyed Maroa as our home. It's quiet, well kept, and a great location. Amelia in the office was more than accommodating and helpful with our apartment search. She found us a 2 bed 1 bath unit that is very spacious and exactly what we needed. We haven't had any issues with anything to date, and any questions we've had have been answered right away with great customer service. I was nervous moving to Fresno due to alot of areas making us uncomfortable, but I love how safe and convenient the location of Maroa is.
Maroa Park Apartments is well maintained with lots of grass, sidewalks and lots and lots of parking which is a real plus ! The Gym has great quality of exercise equipment available. The neighbors are friendly and quite. The apartments are very nice and clean and are spaced far apart. The water pond in front of the apartment has water fountains and its very pretty ! The maintenance team is outstanding. The long blinds over the sliding glass doors to the patio weren't working properly, after making a phone call to management the blinds were replaced the next day ! That was Great Thank you Maroa Park Apartments and I hope to call this place home for some time to come ! Sheryl
Me and my boyfriend moved in just over a month ago and so far we've really enjoyed everything so far. We have a one bed one bath and were surprised by the amount of space we have! We haven't had any noise issues with any of our neighbors and the couple that we have met are very nice people, they even helped us get our stuff moved in! We are planning on renewing our lease if everything continues to go well :)
For the past few months I have lived in Maroa Park, I have continued to be pleasantly surprised. The staff is so nice and always available. It is a safe area and there is security available 24 hours. The appliances and amenities all work fine, although they could use a little updating. We have only had a couple of maintenance issues and they were resolved within 24 hours. I love my apartment and don't plan on leaving any time soon.
I enjoyed my residency at Maroa Park Apartments and was pleased to call it my home for 2 years. The outside appearance of the community and its amenities are well maintained and clean. Maintenance is on top of taking care of requests in a timely manner (usually the same day of your request). The office staff members are professional and easy to talk to. Here is a helpful tip: If you should have any questions or concerns, bring it to their attention. The ladies will know how to assist you and will follow up with you. If you are looking for a peaceful place to live, I highly recommend Maroa Park.
The manager send his cleaner workers to complain about bike and kids scooters rides passing at Remington avenue.........going to Kratt school.
Apartments are nice and quiet but the office staff and other amenities spoil it all! One of the ladies in the office is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. The storage space in the apartments are seriously lacking--all you get is a coat closet, no linen closet or pantry to put extra food. So if you have several people living in the home your basically out of luck with places to put things. Parking is definitely an issue too if you have more than one car in the household. Either you're parking on the opposite side of the complex or on the street if you get home any later than 9pm or even earlier on weekends! Anyways, think twice before signing any papers that may get you into this place!! Or you may regret it later!
This complex is well situated and very well run. The management team lead by Lupe spends their efforts to try and make living here better. In a place this size there will be unhappy people but my experience says it is not the fault of the units or the on property management staff. After 12 years, I guess we like it. GG
My fiancé has been living here for almost two years and I moved in just a few months ago. He was well pleased with the management and the quiet way of living around here and I can see why. I feel safe here and have not had any issues. There is also security making their rounds, which makes the living here that much more comfortable. Lupe, Toni, and Bridget make a great team and have always assisted us with a smile and positive attitude. Lastly, we are minutes away from shops and restaurants ranging from west Fresno to Central Fresno, just minutes away from the freeway and Riverpark.
I have lived at Maroa Park for almost three years. It is a quiet, clean complex. The landscape and grounds are well groomed. The pools, Jacuzzi, work out room, tennis courts, and laundry area are well maintained. I travel frequently and feel confident the Maroa Park staff will check on the apartment while I am away. I feel safe and often see the security company when I arrive home later in the evening. When I have a request it is completed quickly, often the day of the request.
I have been a resident at the Maroa Park Apartments. for 20 years and I feel that this is a great place to live! Although the office staff and maintenance crew have always been helpful when any kind of issue has come up, the current staff and crew go the "extra mile" whenever I have a question or need some repair work done in the apartment. The office staff is very professional and friendly . The grounds are kept very clean as there is a feel of a park- like setting as you walk about(well-landscaped ). The apartment complex is close to shopping at Fig Garden and the neighborhood surrounding the apartments is very nice and quiet. I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a clean, quiet and attractive place to live.
I lived in these apartments for almost a year, the area is safe and peaceful. If I had concerns I felt comfortable to talk about any issues to the Manager, Lupe..she right away fixed the issue and that alone was a great result for me. Aside from a great Manager, the staff works just as hard in helping the residence with anything they report to the office. I reason I decided to move was not because of the apartment complex but because I have been living in an apartment setting for years and I am anxious to try and rent a home I guarantee these apartments are great, very safe and quiet.
We have lived here for about a year now and we just renewed our contract. The neighborhood is great and located near a lot of shopping centers, the complex is very clean, the pools and exercise room are very clean as well. Whenever we have a maintenance issue the staff respond same day. Very quiet area, we like living here and the shear fact that we renewed tells me that this is a great place to live cause this is our first time in an apartment that renewed a contract, we usually just move when our contract is up. So if your looking for a place to move you should check out this complex. I gotten mention though the only draw back about this place is the lack of parking, but everything else is worth living here. Good luck!
