Bordering Uptown Dallas and Oak Lawn, Cityplace manages to be both sleek and hip, featuring office towers and tiny shops along brick-paved streets. The West Village, located along McKinney Avenue, is an eclectic selection of restaurants and shops in a pedestrian-friendly village. After a day of shopping the clothing boutiques like LOFT and Lucky Brand, have coffee with friends at Brewed+Pressed, or head to Village Burger Bar for lunch. Other popular locations include Malai Kitchen and Public School 214.
Cityplace apartments are convenient to Downtown Dallas, located just two miles south. Cityplace, which is considered a district of Uptown Dallas, is home to the largest building outside of Downtown Dallas: the Tower at Cityplace. The 42-story office building is located on North Haskell Avenue. Getting around this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood is easy with the DART blue and red line as well as the M-Line streetcar.

Property Ratings at Marquis at Texas Street
We recently moved out of Marquis at Texas Street. While the apartment complex may seem attractive at first glance, several issues make living here a highly frustrating experience. Elevator Issues The elevator in the building is notorious for being unreliable. It barely worked throughout the entire year we lived there. On the rare occasion it was fixed, it would only function for a day before breaking down again, leaving residents inconvenienced for months at a time. Mold Problems The bathtub in our apartment developed significant mold, despite our best efforts to clean it with every product available. When we reported this issue to maintenance, their solution was to spray paint over the mold. This quick fix would fade away quickly, and the mold would reappear. To add insult to injury, when we moved out, they charged us over $200 for the condition of the bathtub, which was completely unacceptable given the persistent mold problem and inadequate maintenance. Stove Charges Upon moving in, we noted that the glass top stove had visible scratches, indicating previous use. However, when we moved out, we were shocked to be charged over $600 for the stove. This charge is outrageous and unjustifiable, especially since the stove was not in perfect condition when we arrived. Security Concerns Security is a major concern at Marquis at Texas Street. During our stay, there were at least five incidents of vehicles being stolen from the parking lot. The management's response was lackluster, treating these serious incidents as if they were routine and offering no real solutions or increased security measures. Mailbox Break-Ins There were also at least three break-ins at the mailboxes during our tenure. The only response from management was to send out an email, which did nothing to prevent further incidents or reassure residents about their safety. Garage Gate Issues The garage gate frequently broke down and would take days to repair, leaving the parking area vulnerable and residents inconvenienced. Invasive Maintenance Practices One of the most troubling aspects was the maintenance staff's disregard for our privacy. Despite explicitly stating in maintenance requests not to enter without permission, they would enter our apartment without notice. This invasive practice was unacceptable and made us feel unsafe in our own home. Prospective tenants should be aware of these significant drawbacks before considering this complex as their home.

Another example of management going above and beyond for tenants: While I was working out at the pool early this morning, Brandon went out of his way to come down to the pool and check on us. With the new locking fob system in place, he wanted to make sure that we were not locked out of the gym. I assured him that we were exercising in the cold by choice, but I really appreciated his concern for our well-being. My trainer was impressed that office staff would be working at such an early hour. I knew he was not “officially”at work - not for several more hours. The staff is just observant and truly cares about their tenants!

Maintenance is quick and usually gets stuff fixed within 24-hours. And the office team goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and feel at home.
This place is reasonably priced and well designed. The management is friendly and always helpful. My neighbors are nice and the neighborhood is pretty quiet for being so close to Downtown and Deep Ellum.
Amazing staff. Really nice apartments at affordable prices. And close to just about anything you would want.
The Marquis on Texas Street is a great place to live! The location allows for walking to Downtown, Deep Ellum, the park up the street, or even the Baylor hospital nearby. It is also in a prime location to access most of the interstates. On the corner there is a little Tom Thumb for simple grocery needs. The entire top part of the parking garage is dedicated to guest parking. The units are reasonably priced and very modern, spacious, clean, and pest free. They have Valet trash that will pick your trash and recycling up from your doorstep 5 nights a week. If a maintenance need arises, the maintenance team is extremely friendly and responds quickly. The workout room is great and the pool even better. I only give this place 4 stars for two reasons. First, there is only one assigned parking spot per apartment and the others have to park in compact parking, which as the name implies, is small. Sometimes I had problems finding a compact spot on my level where my compact car would fit. Secondly, the apartments have a lot of natural light, which is great. However, the windows and doors are not always sealed properly and we could feel the outside air coming through the door, which I felt was increasing our electric bill. Overall, nothing serious though and would live there again.
This apartment complex is as good as it gets. The location is perfect - it is right in between Uptown/Downtown/Deep Ellum and close to highways 75/35/45. There is plenty of dining and entertainment nearby, retail and grocery shopping, and a park within walking distance. The apartments are updated beautifully with open layouts, the amenities are amazing (24 hour fitness center, resort style pool, grilling area, movie theater, washer/dryer included, and reserved parking space in close proximity to your apartment), and the management/consultants/maintenance teams are THE BEST. They have been incredibly helpful and friendly and truly get to know and love their residents. The maintenance team also responds to work requests within 24 hours!!! How often do you hear that??? I have LOVED living here and don't have any plans to move out anytime soon. I HIGHLY recommend the Marquis at Texas Street.
I love the location and staff at Marquis. I'll be moving though due to the rise in rates. I have a non-upgraded 600 sqft apartment and will be paying over $1000. Just can't justify this rate. Too bad, because I really liked it here.
I just graduated from a reputed university in Chicago. I came all the way to Dallas gor my work. This is the first experience, I am going to live all by myself. Iam from Undia, pampered only child. The first thing I did in Dallas was to find a place for living. I have been on student life, so I wanted to have a private space for myself so I dint want to share my space. The first apartment which I checked out was Marquis at texas st. The only checkpoint was the proximity to my office. The leasing agent jimenna and shan were warm and welcoming. Helped me with all the procedures. They made sure I feel comfortable. The amenities are extraordinary and the rent is economical. We used to have parties and events organized by a family every month. They have become more than a member in my family. We have exchanged closw coconversation and help them with the evnta. Recently we had the Oktoberfest, which was a blast. I have never seen an apt so far with well equiped gym and club room. I really love this place and wpuld like to recommend my friends. So far I have received awesome rewards for frnd referrals too. Marquis at texas st , you rock !!
I've been living at the Marquis at Texas Street going on 4 years now and have been pleased with it from the start. Situated in a walkable part of Dallas, you've access to Deep Ellum, Downtown and Uptown. If you prefer to drive, you're no more than a mile from Highway 75, Interatate 35 and Interstate 20. In addition to the great location, The Marquis offers great amenities. Whether it be the gym over looking the gorgeous pool area, the common room with a kitchen and billiards, or the study with internet access and television. The community is intimate with less than 400 units, private parking garage and a service team that is on top of their game. The Marquis at Texas Steeet has everything one would need to call it Home. Come see what it's all about.
Love my new community, just signed my lease and move in in a few days. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made sure I found the home right for my needs and budget. The amenities are nice and you get a reserved parking spot!
This apartment complex is ideal for those wanting diversified living. It is walking distance to downtown Dallas, Arts District, eclectic Deep Ellum and the lovely Klyde Warren Park sitting above Woodall Rodgers Freeway. It has a beautiful pool area and state of the art fitness center. Residents wanting a safe outdoor area to walk their pet or just wanting fresh air will be pleased with the lovely neighborhood park. The apartments are spacious and well serviced by attentive office and maintenance staff. Very happy here!
