Highway 51 and Interstate 485 run through McAlpine allowing for easy travel into the heart of the city and beyond. Located about 13 miles south of Uptown Charlotte, McAlpine features a variety of rental options including large single-family houses, luxury apartments, and modern condos and townhomes. This family-friendly residential area is known for its top-notch schools and proximity to an abundance of amenities. Too many renovations, too many sketch characters hanging around and a lack of considerations for the residents and their general peace of living
All I have are good words about this complex. 1) Great admin office and attenda to your requests on time. Plus they are all very friendly. The maintenance guys always have a smile on their faces and would greet me and my dog all the time 2) no issues with my apartment unit. It was sparkling clean and well prelared when I moved in plus a surprise gift (wine glasses) 3) well maintained and very clean community 4) very peaceful, quiet and close to shops. You guys have set the bar high!
I have lived in the community for over 7 months and have enjoyed living here. We moved from Memphis where we owned a home for 18 years. We were looking for a community in which we could feel connected just like our former neighborhood and we’ve found that here at Carmel Commons. The beautiful well kept grounds, the great office staff, and maintenance crew have made living here a joy. The community is situated in a quiet area with lots of trees and there is plenty of shopping, restaurants, businesses, and medical facilities near by. The city’s Blue Line Railway is less than 3 miles away which gives you access to many areas of the city including Uptown all the way to University City. Living here thus far has been a great experience. We love the monthly resident events which creates a sense of community where you get to meet and spend time with your neighbor.
I am a current resident. While I do enjoy the peace and quiet here, there are many things that I dislike. 1st, if there is one thing that you can count on from this Establishment, it is that the Leasing Office will NEVER be OPEN ON TIME. The hours for the office change everyday. Even if it is presumed to be normal office hours, the staff comes in well after the listed hours. ALSO the staff will not NEVER answer the office phone until at least an hour after the listed office hours. You could literally walk into the clubhouse and see management in the office, call the office phone 5 feet away and still you have to wait an hour for a response! 2nd, Maintenance requests take forever. If you do not know the maintenance team personally, you will have to wait at their leisure for them to come fix whatever the request is for. 3rd, the PARKING is horrible. If you do not purchase a garage or overhead shelter for your car, you will be stuck fighting EVERY OTHER TENANT and THEIR COMPANY for a parking spot. Especially on Sundays!
I moved in here 4yrs ago this May and I haven't had any issues. Trouble calls have been filled in a timely fashion. Staff is very helpful. Property changed owners and received a facelift right afterwards. Complex is close to schools and shopping and bus routes. No negative review from me.

This place is the greatest. It is one of the few apartment home in the queen city that will Honestly make you feel like you are the King of the city. Yes i know you will not understand that simply because you dont live here its a place for Kings. and if your a female you will feel like the queen of the queen city. Just like a King or queen you dont have to worry about outsiders getting in your community simply because its gated. and just like a king or queen you dont have to worry about nothing because the staff will make sure you have anything you need or want just like it should be In the Queen city of Charlotte nc.
I have lived in these apartments for a few months now and have never once thought about moving! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful-- I never hesitate to ask them a question. The pool is top of the line, equipped with a hottub! The workout facility is always clean. My apartment is recently updated, stainless steal and granite countertops, with vaulted ceilings and crown molding!! I feel like I live in a high class apartment but the price is lower than comparable apartments. Extremely good deal! I highly recommend living here
If you are looking for a clean, well-maintained older community near uptown Charlotte for cheap without the bells and whistles this is a good place to rent. I've been here 2 years and have felt safe and comfortable here. I like that it's right off of Independence hwy because I can easily get to grocery stores, shopping and work. It takes just over 10 mins to the inner city. Also, the property has decent amenities: there's a laundry center, a small gym, and my favorite-the grilling patio by the pool. The management has changed twice, but the office staff has been consistent. They are friendly and show concern whenever I have any questions or a maintenance issue. Though the apartments are a little dated the latest management company, Pegasus Resiential, is doing a LOT of work now. So, it has been a little noisy around here lately and I suppose interior upgrades will begin. The only feedback I have for Pegasus is- Please Give us back our Gate! When I moved in it was a gated community, but over a month ago now the gate malfunctioned and now it just stays open. Aside from that the neighborhood is safe and usually quiet. View Less
