Just east of downtown Dallas on the other side of US Route 75, Deep Ellum is the music hub of Dallas. National and local artists perform at the multitude of live music venues across town. Older but rates are lower than new properties...great location and yes its near a train and its loud at times...but it's a train...its downtown Dallas so noise is part of the deal...property provides security and gates ...they do pretty well at maintaining the property...management and maintenance are good
I wish i could say this apartment was an oasis in the middle of a city, but I would be lying. The crime has been crazy and it keeps getting closer to here. Security does nothing but watch people come in and if someone is waiting at the gate for a while and gets in by someone who lives here security won't question it or are on their phone. No one bothered to mention the DART train when I moved in here so that is something you will hear 24/7, and its LOUD. Floors creek like crazy and walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors. Parking is ridiculous, people wait at the gate for someone to click them in and you have no option but to do so because only one gate is active and they will keep you waiting, security is a joke. They have stated cars are towed here all night, i have yet to see any the past 6 months. Management has also sent emails out asking people to write good reviews for gift cards so here's my review. List goes on of crazy stuff, so research where your apartment is going to be located before moving in, if you choose to do so, and don't be by the train.
You will not feel more valued as a tenant than you will living at the Marquis on Gaston. This is the absolute BEST apartment in Deep Ellum — no question! I’ve lived here for almost two years and just signed a lease for my third. You’re stumbling distance to all of the best bars in Dallas and right next to the Deep Ellum and Medical Center DART stations. Location is perfect. SAFETY: The Community Director, Brian, has done so much over the last two years to keep this place a safe place to live. Living in downtown and Deep Ellum, crime is bound to happen. However, you won’t feel safer in this area than at this complex with 24/7 security roaming the property, who are all super friendly. Should any incident of any size occur, Brian and the rest of the team are super transparent to keep the residents informed. FLOOR PLANS: You will not get better bang for your buck in this area, period. My first two years were in a 553 sq ft. studio. The studios are here NOT your normal studio apartments! They are all the exact same floor plan as 1BR, just with the wall removed. So, you wind up having a separate area for your bedroom, which prevents you from feeling like you’re living in just a bit rectangle. All of the guests I’ve had over are super impressed with the layout compared to other properties, including the large balconies that are hard to find in the area. MAINTENANCE: The best I’ve ever experienced. I’ve never had to wait more than 24 hours for any issue to be resolved! Maintenance workers are so nice as well and often times go out of their way to make sure you’re all set. Move here. You won’t regret it one bit.
Living at Marquis at Gaston is wonderful. The maintenance alone will make you never want to leave this property. They answer request most of the time the same day! The management staff is amazing and always on the spot to answer any questions or concerns quickly. Brian the office Director Rocks and manages this complex with safety, dignity and respectfullness. I will be buying home in the near future. I am glad I can call This property home in the meantime. If your looking; look no further. Marquis at Gaston is your go to property!
I came in today for a tour. Brian greeted me and immediately made me feel at home. The grounds seemed well maintained, and I really loved the location. I'm waiting on a job transfer, and this is definitely the top of my list!
Great Location: it's in the heart of Deep Ellum, with awesome restaurants, music venues, and bars at your doorstep. There's also a dog park a block away and it's right on two DART stops for easy access to downtown and fair park. I LOVE this neighborhood. Nice Home: the apartments are very spacious and well made (just a bit bland). In 3 years we've only had a minor problem with the dishwasher. Some of the third floor homes have super high beautiful ceilings but be prepared for your AC bill to reflect the extra sq. ft of air. There's a lovely new pool and renovated gym. The staff is pretty responsive but can get backed up. A few Problems: we've had some break-ins lately and a bit more could be done to improve safety in my opinion. There's also covered garages but the spaces are tight and it's a lot of blind turns going up and down. The office hours are also tough to make for full time workers when you need to pick up a package. View Less Flag Review
Marquis at Gaston is Awesome for Many Reasons: 1- Across the street from Dart Station - easy to get around Dallas area. 2- Located in Deep Ellum, so a 2-3 block walk to many restaurants, bars, boutiques and entertainment. 3- It's close enough to walk to many places in downtown like the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, downtown offices, Baylor hospital, etc. 4- The staff is very helpful and they recently remodeled the pool area and added two covered grills. 5 - Most importantly, the price is the best you'll get in the area which includes garage parking and plenty of visitor parking which is hard to find in the downtown Dallas area. The only items which sometimes annoy me but not worth moving, the garage is sometimes broken/open often because visitors are impatient and hit it while trying to slide in before it closes. The visitor call box doesn't always work so sometimes guests have to wait until someone comes in our out. Overall, I highly recommend Marquis at Gaston.
Marquis on Gaston is one of the better finds in the downtown/Deep Ellum area. They have a great staff who's always on top of all requests, its located in the perfect spot for Deep Ellum, the DART, and is just a stone's throw from downtown. Great value and location!
