Property Ratings at Marvel 29
Noisy neighbor. Every other week we hear our neighbors fighting in the morning, lunch, night and even at 4 in the morning. Walls are so thin we can even hear the microwave when being use. We smell cigarrete smoke and marijuana inside the apartment. We complain in person, via phone, via email but nothing getting solve. Trash chute always clogged. We request for maintenance twice but nothing coming in. Management dont care about the issues and will stop replying if youre getting frustrated. Find somewhere else so you dont get stress.
Property Manager at Marvel 29, Responded To This Review
This review is not for Edgewood North. There is no trash chute at Edgewood North Apartments in Lynnwood.
The first bump in the road occurred when I set up autopay on my rent account the next week. The discounted value was not applied to the autopay withdrawal and I was charged for one whole month instead. I immediately emailed Alyssa and Tyler (then manager) requesting assistance getting a partial refund for the mistaken amount. I was informed that this was not possible and they can’t do anything other than provide the credit to the next month. Towards the fall of 2021, we began noticing quite a strong smell of smoke (both marijuana and tobacco) coming into our 4th floor apartment vents near the door and in our bedroom. We reported this to management, and they sent out the maintenance team to investigate. We never heard further or ever had this resolved. It was a constant problem on our floor and all we saw was a mass letter stating smoking is prohibited. In September, our vehicle that was parked next to the sidewalk right outside the building was broken into. We requested footage to report the incident, and we were declined any support. We were instructed to park our vehicle inside the garage. Frustrated once again, we got on the waitlist for a second spot. Then, many of us on the 4th floor also began having issues with a certain resident and his erratic/inappropriate behaviors. Other neighbors reported verbal assault and some getting pushed. This man was never reprimanded or asked to leave. On 12/29-12/30, the entire building lost power due to an accident up the road. The management/maintenance team determined the best way to leave residents with access to enter or exit the parking garage was to leave the gates open all night, with no security or protection. They did *not* inform any residents of this, and left hundreds of thousands of dollars of vehicles, items in storage, etc. accessible to any passerby. We had one vehicle broken into at this time, and our friends in the building had storage units broken into with tools stolen, and their vehicles broken into as well. Management refused to show us any camera footage, and rather deflect and say they turned off the cameras that used to face the cars. They also refused to accept any responsibility for their oversight on leaving a typically secure area, unsecured and unmonitored in an area that is not safe at night. Every complaint we ever had fell on deaf ears. Please, don’t be fooled by their rooftop deck and move-in assistance. It’s not worth the money you spend fixing your own property from their mishaps.
This place is so gross. Aggressive dogs, no one cleans anything, crappy apartments stolen packages, and sketchy neighbors. Save your money.
Marvel management changed around January of 2019, and since this change, the apartment complex has become unorginazed, poorly run, and a horrible place to live. Here are some reasons: - package theft: The management denies there is a problem, declines to even look at camera footage, and blames the UPS and USPS delivery people instead of accepting that the current system for package delivery is poorly run. I have had 2 packages stolen in just the month of March. Don’t live here if you don’t have an office to send all your packages to! - broken down building: The 4th floor has had leaking from the ceiling for 2 months and garbage bins are used to collect water and huge, loud vacuums are being used to “try to keep things dry”. The whole building is also slanting at an angle, even the doors on the cupboards swing open. Cracks above doorways show breaking foundation. - garbage dump: People routinely dump outside garbage in the basement garbage area, and I have personally seen people drive up with a uhual to dump 4 mattresses and old luggage.
I would not recommend this apartment complex to a friend/family member/stranger. They're constantly going through new management, are awful at communication, and are not transparent with agreements or changes. They rarely answer the phone and can take weeks to respond to emails. On top of that the cost of the apartment is not worth it when you calculate how much their services charge for trash and water. The majority of apartments do not have AC, for it being such a new apartment you would imagine that if an apartment didn't have AC then they would at least have a window you could open; this is not the case. It's apparent they just care about making their dollar and do not care about residents.
Honestly, I wouldn’t move here again. The windows in the apartment are about 18 inches wide, and roll out 4 inches. There is only one in the entire living room. Zero airflow and despite the claim of a/c in the amenities, there is none. So far it’s hit 90 in my apartment, which is uninhabitable. I’m disappointed that they haven’t updated this site, and that an apartment this new wasn’t designed to have better airflow. The rooftop closes at 10pm, even in the summer. While the proximity is great and views are beautiful, it’s just not worth it for the cost.
I have lived at Marvel 29 for only a few months and I am the first tenet in this particular unit. The apartment itself has been wonderful. As a first time tenet, there are obviously small things that needed to be addressed. Every time I have had to work with the front office or maintenance, I get immediate responses and action. I also NEVER hear my neighbors which is insane in an apartment. I do however hear children in the halls or courtyard whenever parents think that it's a great playground for their kids. Not to mention, I would say this is not a kid friendly apartment. This is geared toward college and younger couples or even older couples with no kids. The location is the absolute best feature this place has to offer. I believe the walk score is in the upper 90's. Everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. I would suggest Marvel 29 to my friends.
