Located in northern Central Texas, Fort Worth is often coupled with neighboring Dallas. But Fort Worth has a unique character all of its own. Equal parts Wild West and modern sophistication, Fort Worth is known as the City of Cowboys and Culture. In Fort Worth, you can just as easily visit a championship rodeo as you can a world-class museum.
There is no shortage of world-class museums in Fort Worth. You have your choice of exploring the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, and many more. Head over to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District to step into the Old West and learn the history of the livestock industry in Texas. Every Friday and Saturday, you can witness the Stockyards Championship Rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum.

Property Ratings at Maxwell Apartments
There's a known cockroach infestation in the building we lived in - we had to break our lease early at the end of March 2024 after suffering for 7 months. We killed 40 roaches a day on average, and 60 roaches when the infestation was at its worst. Found them in our food, carpets, cookware, clothing, bedding, etc. We were having allergic reactions to the amount of roaches inside our unit. Despite all of this, our unit was immediately listed online for another tenant to move into (April 2024). We communicated with management about it for months, so they've been aware the entire time of the extent of the infestation. They unjustly charged us to paint and clean the unit when we moved out, and they wouldn't allow us to dispute their claims with the proof we have that we didn't cause damage. Management also admitted to losing our Inventory & Condition Form (detailing all of the damages in the unit on our move-in date) that we submitted to the office in person when we moved in, proving their negligence with tenants' private information.
I’m coming from New Orleans , looking for apartments. I scheduled a tour to look at them. Couldn’t even last minutes, Shelia had an attitude about going in the rain. It’s your job, it’s not my fault that it rains .. don’t take your frustration out on the customers if you can’t do you job right.
Property Manager at Maxwell Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are disappointed to see these claims as they do not accurately portray the situation at hand and do not paint our team in an accurate light. If you would like to further discuss this, please reach out to us directly. Thank you.
Very unprofessional staff! Charged me $90 a month, for water, for a two bedroom apartment, was offended that I questioned the water bill. Also added previous months of trash/water to a current bill, and provided no explanation to why, when it was already paid months ago. Ashley immediately offered me to look at lease termination options because i questioned these things! Valet trash RARELY get picked up, although you pay for it. Roaches, although you pay for pest control, even after I did a roach bomb, there’s still roaches. Maintenance breaks things when they come to fix what you asked to be fixed. The laundry room has been closed for a few weeks. The mailroom was broken into in January and still not fixed, when I told Amy that I hadn’t gotten mail I’m over 2wks she said she would contact the post office, the door to the mailroom is still broke. I asked about the smart home feature twice, they finally end up just crediting me for not having it, since the beginning of my lease, but of course ONLY AFTER I COMPLAINED. The swat team was at the complex for another resident a couple of weeks ago, no safety email or text was sent out. The gate is always open, ppl who don’t even live here, park in the residences parking spaces. I’ll be looking elsewhere at the end of my lease.
This is a dirty property to live at, the residents here don't care. The parking lots are always trashed, over run garbage bins, the laundry room is disgusting and machines don't even work. The gate is NEVER locked and parking lot is always full of men staring at you when you walk to your apt. There are always men in their car smoking marijuana. Parking lot has numerous abandoned cars in spots close to apts so we have to park far and not safe. They said they would remove them but yet. NOTHING. Same thing with cleaning entry ways because they are disgusting. Pool & gym is only opened during office hours so most people cant use because WE WORK! They say its because of covid but my friends who live in other apts say that theirs is open. The apts just provide disinfectants so residents can clean after themselves. This complex always says their going to do something but months go by and nothing. I am literally counting the days until my contract is up. Do yourself a favor, don't rent here, everytime I walk into the lot, I cringe at all the trash everywhere. I hate it here.
1 day in and I am not pleased at all with the overall process and management I was originally was suppose to move in on the 23 of December but gave them an extra week since I wanted to clean myself and when I went in to the office to pay the prorated amount the office management informed me that the unit was not yet ready but was trying to give me keys any way remind you I applied to apartment a month in advance and got approved and everything but the unit was not yet ready so I moved in and I have only been in the apartment for 1 night yet the door I asked them to change it due to the issue with it and I have kids and I would like it to be change due to its condition the front office informed they can not change it and I have also informed them of other issues that I believe should have been fixed within the month that I applied And got approved and the extra week I gave them also but instead the master bathroom tub is pealing door stopper and depot knobs missing throughout the apartment no screens on the windows and I’m sorry but me not even lived through my lease yet not even a month in and I’m having major issues and has been in the office atleast 10 already complaining very unprofessional and not pleased me being a new tenant and having to pay to live somewhere that has more than a hand full of issues at the beginning and also they informed the first month would be free and I do not see it credited to my account yet and these should be things that they stay on top would not recommend these apartments at this point to anyone there are so many well earned apartments to be settling
Moved here in August 2018, expecting a “renovated apartment” wishful thinking. So much excitement for me moving into my first apartment here in TX. Basically we got new appliances, the floors are new with paint dots here and there, light fixtures are new and that’s about it. the cabinets were spray painted over, baseboards have holes in them. Exhaust don’t work in the restrooms, I had mold over my shower that they came in and painted over, let me not forget the roaches that stay here rent free. We’ve asked for pest control to come out. Then we are charged a 25 dollar trash removal that’s never picked up and they told us to call the people if our trash isn’t picked up why are we calling people to come do their jobs, so we take out out ourselves cause if we leave it at the door and wait for them to come and pick it up the raccoons and the cats will be at our doorstep.Lol this whole place is a joke. Oh and all of these things were put in for maintenance to come and do but it has never gotten done. So yeah don’t waste your time applying for these apartments. Then then they always send out messages about rent being on time, which we are never late. TUH!!!
These apartments are in bad shape. They don’t look like the picture, it’s photoshopped. They are in the process of making it look like it does online. Its very raggedy to say the least. The wood on the outside of the apartments is damaged and they’re just painting over it. The agent could tell I was shocked. I almost didn’t even take the tour I thought I was at the wrong place. Pool looks terrible, club house looks terrible the whole complex looks terrible. They don’t know when renovations will be done but are charging as if renovations are done. These apts are hooded out & rent should be cheaper. It’s an entire eye sore I can’t believe what they are trying to charge but go see for yourself.
These apartments have really went downhill. The kids are horrible and I have put in the same maintenance request in at least 5 times in the past6 months and my request has yet to be filled.
I would rather be homeless than live here. Very very slow to responding to maintenance calls. On average, all my maintenance calls took at least two weeks to get a response and still, the problem wasn’t fixed. The maintenance team doesn’t know what their doing. Save your money, find somewhere else. Horrible customer service, the front office doesn’t care about their residents. I have nothing good to say, other than my lease is up and I am out of here. No gym, the pool is always over ran by outsiders from the apartment complex because they have zero security here. Do whatever you can and don’t live here.
I moved in not even a week ago now. The first thing is that they promise an upgraded apartment with new appliances and then don't give it to you. On top of that your are still being charged the upgrade price. I was supposed to move in on a Wednesday and at last minute Tuesday they call to tell me I cannot move in until Friday. Their excuse was the third floor above me flooded and somehow affected my unit and they needed to clean it up for me. It turns out that my whole unit flooded because there is no floor above me and it affected my downstairs neighbor. This is all the first day. The next day I woke and turn on the sink and the handle pops off and floods my entire kitchen. Later that day as well the cabinet door broke off and the some spots on the stove top don't work. This of course was over the weekend so as soon as Monday hit I went to the office. I talked to the manager myself as she claimed it was a mistake to lie to me about the imaginary floor above me and how my unit flooded. On top of that the more things I tell her that are wrong with the apartment the more rude she would be to me. Eventually things escalated she refused to do what was right and now we have to find another place to live. I tried to contact the cooperation office and leave message and I have received nothing back. It's clear here this apartment does not care about their residents and neither does the cooperation.
My client has lived here 6 months and I still have not gotten my referral fee.
I was living in a two bedroom apartment for 8 months, but moved into one of their one bedroom apartment when my lease was up for the two bedroom apartment. Within a week of moving into the one bedroom apartment something start bitting me. I had no clue what it was, until one night, after being there a month I stayed up to see what was bitting me. I caught a bug that turns out to be a BEDBUG. I contact the apartment management the next day and weeks after without any help. They want to put the whole problem on me when for 8 to 12 months living in the two bedroom apartment I had no issues of BEDBUGS, but as soon as I'm in the one bedroom apartment with the same furniture and clothing from the other apartment. I didn't even rent a moving van, I just walked most of my things from one apartment to the other. The last tenets didn't report this issue, so they say that they are not sure if I'm responsible so I need to pay 600 for treatment. I told them if they checked the last apartment I stayed in, they will find I had no issues with BEDBUGS. I should not be responsible for BEDBUG treatment.
Just like the title of this review mentions, there is too much crime. They are beautiful units but the area is very unsafe. Every other month there are notices on our doors of recent crime reports about homes being brown into, vehicles being broken into, people being assaulted or weapons pulled on them. Gun shots at night twice since we've been here. We don't come home late ever due to the fear of being assaulted. You can't feel safe no matter what you do. There's just no way of stopping it. Many of the people that live around here seem nice, I'm not sure if there are people coming in from the outside or people who live here being shady, but it doesn't stop. Also, the units are pretty f the inside, but there seems to be a huge problem with pests. Roaches to be exact. It doesn't matter how many times the pest control (we pay for) comes by, that doesn't mean the other units yours is attached to is also being treated (as you have to call for them to come by to treat your unit). This is completely unlike any other place we've ever lived, where your unit is regularly treated monthly by the management's pest control service. Lastly, you're lucky if you get a call back from the SUPER busy management in the office. You can call and call and rarely will you get an actual person pick up the phone. Yes your call is important to them, when THEY have the time to get to it, so good luck hearing from them if you leave a voicemail.
The apartment managers are very nice and helpful. i have a 2bd 2 1/2 bath townhome. The dining room and living room area is very spacious but the only con for me is that there is carpet all thru the apartment besides the kitchen and bathrooms. They have washer and dryer connections and I'if u don't have a washer and dryer u can rent it from the apartment complex.
I applied for the apartment and was told they have security cameras..only one known break-in and a very clean complex to live in. Well that agent is no longer with the complex. My apartment is infective with ants, they have bitten my grandson they have gotten into food that was just purchase at the grocery store. Not to mention my fridge has ruin food that has not been replaced and all they say is they will take care of the problem, sometime I'm told that its like a hundred people in front of me and i will have to wait.. . I do not want to renew my lease here, break-ins and shot out, several mornings woke up to go to work with the police everywhere. So i'm trying to find me another place by the end of October. Thanks
Moved to a new city, in a new state, so far I'm not pleased with my apartment, but they're working hard to get it right!
