In 1735, two years after James Oglethorpe founded Savannah, the first city in the new colony of Georgia, he sent a team led by Noble Jones to find a good location for the second colonial settlement. Jones and his team found a location along the Savannah River used by Native Americans to cross. Oglethorpe named the new city after Princess Augusta, the wife of Frederick, Prince of Wales. Today, Downtown Augusta is listed on the National Register of Historic Places at the Augusta Downtown Historic District. The neighborhood is also home to the Augusta Museum of History, which was founded in 1937 and features several permanent collections and exhibitions. Other notable museums include the Morris Museum of Art, which focuses on works by Southern artists.

Property Ratings at Maxwell House
Don’t ever move to the Maxwellhouse. This place is the nastiest place ever ever the office staff are the worst. They are very disrespectful to the residence. They stay locked up in the office maintenance never fulfill work orders washing machine and dryers never work half the time the elevators break all the time security never does their job, and it’s very unsafe and dangerous does drugs everywhere prostitution and Office does nothing about it
There is a roach problem along with bed bugs in some apartments. When they identify bed bugs, you must pay $750 to their exterminator to fix this. The management has the air conditioning on in her office (Jan 2020) but refuses to turn it on for the residents. Over the weekend it was 89 degrees in my apartment. They also will charge you $75 per window pane that breaks if you're hot, open a window, and the wind slams it up against the building through no fault of your own. Come on, don't you think you can do better than moving here?
Property Manager at Maxwell House, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your feedback we will definitely take a look at other ways to improve the pest control policy in the community, if you are a current resident, we will be happy to discuss the air conditioning policy! Thank you, Maxwell House Management
This listing states that this community is wheelchair accessible, but from the photos and 3D tour, the units are far from being accessible for a wheelchair. A community can not have small doorways and halls, and a tiny kitchen and claim wheelchair accessibility.
Property Manager at Maxwell House, Responded To This Review
