Property Ratings at Mays Chapel Village Apartments
Our apartment is lovely and all the maintenance staff is so nice, as well as each person I've spoken to in the office. The neighborhood itself can't be beat. The neighbors we have met already are very pleasant. Our only real complaint is that the floors are pretty thin and there is A LOT of noise from people walking/running in the unit upstairs from us. Like A WHOLE LOT. With working and schooling from home, this can create some big issues with concentration and distractions during meetings. The good news is that we never hear the people next to us or the voices of the people upstairs...just lots and lots and lots of heavy footsteps.
Dont even consider it! The management has total disregard to its residents. My unit upon move in was not liveable. It was never turned over properly between tenants. The smell is something I cant even describe. It leached into all my belongings. Everything in my bathroom was rusted. The drains didnt drain properly and were never cleaned of the precious occupants hair. They even painted over the previous tenants hair on the wall. We all ended up sick with pneumonia from whatever was going on in this unit. There is something very wrong going on here. There are also bugs creeping out the walls. You can here everything above, below and to the sides of your unit. We ended up having to pay movers twice to get out of this unit and management did nothing about the expense or inconvenience inccured. They could care less. Didnt even have the decency to personally respond to emails. I had high hope's for this place and was left with additional expenses and total disregard. Keep it moving plenty of other options in the area.
I will start with the positive, this is a great safe neighborhood, it is a great central location, with easy access to 83. The downside, is that you can hear all the traffic on 83 from inside your apartment. They are terrible insulated from sound (and the weather too). Our doors and windows are incredible drafty, to the point frost was forming on the inside wall next to the door during the winter. There are holes drilled through the window/door frames. When we have informed maintenance and they said without replacing the entire frame there was nothing they could do to help remedy, they also said it was not likely that replacement would be approved by higher ups. Maintenance attempts to be as helpful as they can, but you can tell most times their hands are tied by money saving measures from corporate. Most recently, they have began to renovate some of the vacant apartments, this has caused water to be shut off numerous times in the past few months, and the residents are never rarely of the shut offs. While they are willing to renovate new apartments, they have no interest in fixing the ones currently leased to tenants, for example our dishwasher has had trouble leaking and not draining since we moved in. I have complained multiple times, and maintenance comes out for a temporary fix. It has begun to be so disruptive to living in the apartment, that I am considering breaking the lease early to move elsewhere. Also there is no insulation between apartments, you can hear absolutely everything happening in the apartment above you. And I will not even get into the amount of bugs that get into these apartments, you know through the door frames with holes in them.
Been living here for just about a year and I must say that I love it, but unfortunately I will be moving on to another location. Well worth the money , the community and staff are great. Kim the manager is beautiful and very informative as well as helpful . Thanks Kim and Keelty Homes !
Nice, quiet neighborhood surrounding the apartment complex. Floors are hardwood, which looks nice, but is terribly squeaky. I live on the top floor and my neighbor below me constantly complains that I'm "stepping too loudly." I haven't worn my shoes in my apartment for over a year in fear of being "too loud."
We've lived here for almost 2 years now. We moved out from the city and were delighted to find this lovely, safe, multigenerational neighborhood. We love the location near great schools, the family friendly playground (well planned amongst shady trees and popular with the local kids and parents) the extra storage space and the free (!!!) laundry. The apartments themselves are very spacious and well designed. You can use the rooms lots of different ways to fit your own lifestyle. One of my favorite parts of Mays Chapel Village is how clean it feels: no bugs, no rodents, no smells. The place is VERY well maintained by their professional staff. The green spaces in Mays Chapel Village are beautifully landscaped (and kept up perfectly, even in heavy snow) and the neighbors are friendly. It is only 3 minutes, by car, away from the nearest Light Rail station, which saves us a lot of time and money commuting to work downtown. We have highly recommended this community to others and will continue to do so! Posted 8/2015
