Property Ratings at McKinley Tower Apartments
I lived in the McKinley tower for over 4 1/2 years before I moved to New York. My maintenance requests were always fulfilled within a few days. The staff here was super accommodating. Some of the over-the-top things they’ve done for me over the past years: mailing my my passport to me while I was out of state and taking the cable box and returning my cable box to the GCI store at my request. You can also drop off and pick up your dry cleaning at the building office, which is it convenient option versus going to the dry cleaners. I rented my furniture during the entire time that I was there. They were quick to replace items whenever anything was in a poor state of repair. They never raised my rent the entire time I was there. The rent, by the way, is unbelievably low to begin with, especially since utilities are included. The location of the apartment is the best in all downtown and the building is well-maintained. There are about 20 different restaurants downtown within a mile's walk from the apartment. The views are great, especially l on the western side of the building where are you can see the Cook Inlet and Mount Susitna from the upper floors.
Lived here for a year and had no issues or complaints with the property or management. Studio was enough for one person and everything I needed was in walking distance. Area can be sketchy but the property has key and keypad access and seemed safe within.
The neighborhood can be quite dangerous despite its location close to downtown. The lease staff are very shady and will do everything to screw you out of your deposit. I would not recommend this place- there are better deals to be had in anchorage.

My son and I loved living at McKinley Tower Apartments! It's within the boundary for Denali Montessori Elementary and close to all the great downtown venues and events. We're able to walk to the museum, Saturday Market, PAC, Summer Solstice and Rondy events. The apartment was well planned and so quiet. We really only heard our neighbors when we were in the hallways. Parking was never a problem (one assigned space and additional spaces for guests), which is huge when living in the downtown area. The management staff is wonderful and always helpful.

I am not one to usually write reviews; however, I must say that my stay while living at McKinley Towers was remarkable. I especially enjoyed the location - being within walking distance to all of the events happening in downtown Anchorage was fantastic. The leasing staff is quite amazing. They are always polite and would go above and beyond my expectations to accommodate for an excellent renting experience. The location was also great for working on JBER, as its just a quick 10 minute, or less, drive to and from base. I have lived all over the world for the past 14 years, and this was one of the best places I have ever lived. Thank you for everything while I lived in Anchorage, Alaska!!!!

Thank you for your review of McKinley Tower Apartments. We are so glad you enjoyed your experience here, and thank you for your service! Best wishes
Pros: Friendly and helpful managers, security doors, and high rise. Stacked washer/dryer connections. Reserved parking for 1 car. Free utilities. Cons: Overpriced, small space, small fridge, small kitchen cabinets. 4 washers/dryers for 140 apartments and one is broken half the time. Hot apartments over the summer, even hotter hallways. You pay extra for the parking garage which if you're parked next to a pillar you have less parking space. Additional cars must be parked 100 ft away.
