Property Ratings at McMillen Woods Apartments
For our first experience, the office was very nice and helpful during the process. Would definitely recommend.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review. We're smiling through the roof and so happy to hear you love living here at McMillen Woods. Your satisfaction is our priority, and as your review affirmed, we pride ourselves on our exceptional service. Thank you again for your feedback and for helping share the word about us with others. We're here for you and thank you for being our loyal resident. Cheers!
My wife and I have lived in these apartments for 4 years and love it here! The walls in the townhouse units are very thick so we rarely hear any of our neighbors (who have all consistently been very pleasant), there’s so much room for the cost, and the interior is very nice. Although I don’t like making anyone jump through hoops, the staff working at the office are excellent communicators and great at responding quickly, as well as doing whatever they can to assist with whatever concerns or needs you may have; special shout out to Leanne and Heather in particular for all of their help in us transferring to a new unit (we’re downsizing). Jessika is also extremely pleasant and has helped us many times before as well. I’ve lived in several different complexes within Licking County and can confidently say I’m most satisfied with McMillen. This is an excellent place to live and one you can take pride in, building up your family or even just yourself. If you value the convenience and flexibility of renting but don’t want to settle for lower quality, you’d have a very difficult time doing better than this community.

As you know, we are here for you, and we appreciate you being our loyal resident over the years. Do not hesitate to let us know if you need anything! All the best.
I wish I would've listened to the other bad reviews. I had lived here 3 months and my car was broken into, childs bike was stolen from fenced patio area, other children attached each other with rope causing severe rope burns and beating them up. The cost of rent and the lack of updates is horrible! This community used to have a great reputation, its completely down hill!

Apartments are run down inside and out. The playground equipment is literally falling apart. People in the office have the attitude like you're bothering them if you contact them for something, that is if you're able to get them to answer because they won't call you back. And the rent is ridiculous.

We were shown a move in ready apartment and I was shocked at the way it looked. I would not recommend anyone to rent here. The saddest part was someone was moving into the apartment we looked at that very same day. How can you charge the amounts you post and rent a dirty apartment like this??? So run down!!

The apartments are older. That being said, the apartments are very nice and pretty spacious for an apartment. We looked at about 6 different apartment complexes before deciding this one. Management is always fast at maintenance requests, efficient, and kind. There has been some upgrades since we moved in, not even 2 months ago now. Communication is very timely between management, we can get ahold of them whenever we need, which has been quite a few times with questions. The place is very clean, well kept, and very quiet. I expected noise when we moved in here and we never hear any commotion outside. I haven't seen why the apartment has such bad reviews, it's not as fancy as the main office, but for me that was expected. We did 3 walk throughs before we decided to move in, plenty of times to make sure nothing seemed wrong because the reviews here are awful. not sure why, I've lived all over Ohio, this apartment complex is very nice. Hope this helps someone ?

Thank you for your kind comments! We're thrilled to know that you and your family are enjoying all the amenities here at McMillen Woods. We appreciate you!
Do not rent here! This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. We had to live here temporarily after we moved last minute for my Husband's job. I had friends grow up here years ago and never remember it ever being how it is now. In the best words, this place is a disgusting mess. Management is horrible and never replys to anything (complaints, issues, repairs, etc.). You are more of an inconvenience to them more than anything. Have something break and don't expect for it to ever be fixed. Noise complaints non stop to management allowing parties to occur. The police are there almost every weekend for something (noise, parties, fights,etc.). Mold. There is mold all throughout the apartments. Not only can you see it in the bathrooms, in the basement, in the kitchen, but you can smell it as well. Forget about anything being done about this as they will just paint over it until it comes back again. Parking is a mess there. They claim you have to have a parking pass, however there are cars taking up spots all throughout with no pass. Mostly young kids who are at the many parties going on there and playing loud music at all hours of the night. Don't think about ever walking around either. People will fly going 40+ mph down the streets and the yards are all full with waste and disgust with the fences half standing up. I would not recommend living here to anyone! It's gross.

Please feel free to e-mail me directly with details at residentservicesoh@monarchinvestment.com so we can better improve our community operations. Best regards.
They will nickel and dime you and will not send you a bill when you move they will send it to a collection agency! The apartments are so outdated my husband and I were counting the days till we could move AWFUL place and awful people!!
These are listed as "luxury", but there is nothing luxury about them. They are poorly maintained, and the apartment manager is OCD about the color of the curtains you put in your window. Office staff turnover is almost monthly. Stay away if you can.

Thank you for your feedback- while we are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied as a resident, we greatly appreciate that you took the time to tell us about your experience. Our Team will utilize your feedback to improve community operations.
Pretty much they tell you the reason they won't fix anything is it will cost them too much. Even when the potholes rival the grand canyon. Most people who live here pay near a grand and they cant afford it. To get something fixed you need to call 6 On Your Side.
While our stay here at McMillan woods for the past seven months has been less than perfect with their broken door locks broken floor boards under carpet doors that don’t shut plumbing that’s not completed in the basement so you could even run a washer with hot water slow maintenance or none at all, parking lot dirt being blown all over our cars and into the cracks of the door so it lands on your floor inside the front door. They supply a backyard where the fence is falling apart so there is no privacy . My husband has been transferred 700 miles away via government contract within the next 45 days. McMillan woods is requiring a 60 day notice on top of early termination fee which totals $1395. I think this is a bit excessive being penalized twice for breaking your lease due to employment. I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. The staff is broken the community doesn’t exist. They make false promises to get you in here. These are most certainly not luxury Apartments since nothing has been replaced since the 1950s except for the carpeting and paint kitchen countertops are painted with some kind of paint that chips into your food. This apartment that they rented to us is not the apartment they showed us upon signing 50 pages of paperwork and addendum‘s to get in here. Dogs barking all night there’s too many things to list but this early termination due to employment 700 miles away and the money that they are asking if us really is excessive.

I am sorry that you were unsatisfied with your experience here. We apologize for any inconveniences or difficulties you experienced during your stay here. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
I have never seen a place where rent is so expensive but you cannot enjoy anything. Every other week they have a new rule...they took away parking spots. Now they are saying residents are not allowed have any grills what so ever (smokers, gas, charcoal whatever) and even allow to be stored in gargles or basement! ..expecting residents to sell $200-500 grills at moments notice in middle of leases. Now two days before rent is due..they issued a new rule saying residents cannot pay by money orders. TWO days prior to rent is due. Saying it will not be excepted if residents mail money orders. I feel sorry for anyone that has mailed their payment due to being out of town or traveling for work. Mailing would cause it to be rejected and residents would have to pay close to $900 twice and wait for money orders to be returned to them. Not nice place to deal with. mcMillen Woods is disrespectful and inconsiderate!! Do not be fooled by the nice sales pitch leasing office gives..they will make changes every month that screws the residents over and takes away privileges. The apartments need repairs, electrical and major work. Basements leak. It never gets done. The trees cause damage to cars. The property is not maintained or even clean. Pot holes and junky sidewalks cause damage to peoples ankles. Broken glass and giant tree limbs are dangerous to kids! Trash dumpsters are heaping over. No parking spaces. Residents can NOT enjoy their patios! There are only two park type grills at office- located under nasty trees that they now MAKE residents (I don't know how many units bUt a LOt of people) share??? But who wants to use the dirty grills??? Especially when There are web worms dangling in the air over the grills and by the tables...which would fall in food and your hair. Who wants to cook or eat in that mess? We pay all that money in rent and have a patio that we cannot use!!! There are spiders inside and out. Giant ones! Utilities are high due to poor insulation and outdated stuff. Sometimes the outside lights work. Sometimes they do not. The office staff works hard to change rules and make people miserable but do nothing to make residents comfortable. It's not fair. Tenants are not happy and many are leaving when leases are up. Please think long and hard before wasting your time of making the mistake of signing the lease. Residents need to get together and form a committee. Enough is enough of getting taken advantage of each month.
Inside the apartments are not so bad in the updated ones. But people pay like $125 than the prices they list for nice cabinets...but the outside looks trashy. Patios are disgusting. There is a big bug problem both inside and out. Giant spiders and black ants crawl everywhere. By the park area you will see the worm problem. Very nasty how the worms and webs get in hair while walking. It looks like a giant web it's so bad. Now there is a rule that says no grills what so ever on property not even stored. People who own like $400 grills have to get rid of them. There will be many vacant apartments shortly. People are fed up with the stupid rules added in middle of their lease. They did same thing and took away parking spot. Charging people extra for everything. They also took away the positive things about living here...no picnics or things like that anymore. When the old manager left things went down hill quickly. It's as though they do not care about residents any more...IF they ever did.
Too many trees! Spiders and ants--giant spiders and black and red ants that bite INSIDE!!! Trees cause major damage to cars and make the place not enjoyable...sap on cars, branches fall and sent or scratch cars. No parking space, no repairs made to inside or out. Cannot use patios...have to cut own patio grass. But cannot use patio due to spiders and worms everywhere. It's nasty and not worth the money and rent increases each year but place goes downhill. Wast of money when you cannot enjoy the inside or outside patio or have a place to park. It is horrible.
This duplex, built in the 1950's, with a new, metal roof & aluminum siding, is located at the end of a quiet street, near the hospital, banks, major shopping, and eating establishments. It is a one floor, single family dwelling, with two, separate entrances, and is an all electric home. There are two, separate heating/central air conditioning units, one in the master bedroom and the other in the middle bedroom, that works for the rest of the unit. It consists of a laundry/mudroom, (with hookups for a washer and dryer),two full bathrooms, (one is adjacent to the master bedroom),three bedrooms, (that could be converted into an office or work-out space), living-room/dining-room combination, and a kitchen with a range, range hood, refrigerator, dish washer, and garbage disposal. Large windows bring morning sunlight into each room and there are three ceiling fans, with overhead lighting, for added comfort. Outside, there is a private patio, back-door entrance, (with glass/screen door), and a spacious, two-car garage, with an electric garage-door opener. A large yard, with mature white pine trees and colorful maples, ornamental grasses, and many perennials, make the setting seem very private. The front-door entrance, (with glass/screen door), boasts a stoop large enough for one or two lawn chairs. In addition, there is a paved driveway. Trash pickup and lawn care are the responsibility of the landlord. Pets are an additional charge, with a one-time, non-refundable fee, plus an additional monthly fee assessed. The inside is somewhat dated, as this prefab dwelling was built in the 1950's and the ceilings are in need of repair, due to previous water damage from leaks that stopped when the new, metal roof was installed. Maintenance of the gutters outside is not done on a routine basis, often leading to a buildup of needles and leaves in them. In addition, the landlords are less responsive when they consider a repair to be minor, (the garbage disposal, toilet, and range hood that didn't work for eight months), than if it is major, such as the heating unit ceasing operation or the garage door opener not working. The current rent is $650 per month. Recently, a company that manufactures parts for garbage trucks, built a large, two-story structure, in the field adjacent to the pine trees. While the beautiful field, pond, ducks, deer, and other wildlife are now gone, I don't anticipate noise problems as the trees should act as a privacy buffer.
Since before we rented we have been waiting for many electrical problems to be fixed and nothing has worked. Just today the unit almost burned when I plugged my cel phone charger, to make it worse they still cant commit to fix the problem right away. Terrible service, just hope that the next time the unit doesn't burn up with us inside.
I love McMillen Woods Apartments! I have lived here almost 6 years. I have a couple of neighbors who have lived here for more than 11 years. There are lots of trees & birds. Many people put out bird feeders. The management is very friendly & helpful. There is a security service patrolling at night. Dog park for us dog parents & "doggy" bags located around the entire complex for our convenience. Lots of playgrounds & equipment for kids. Nice swimming pool for all ages. Lawn services even rake leaves & blow off sidewalks. Snowplowing of parking lots & sidewalks. The management even gives a free flat of flowers each spring to those that want them! There are always cookies in the office when you pay your rent! They also have various events such as free breakfast or soup days; Halloween costume contest; Easter egg hunt for kids. Lots of fun events throughout the year! Everyone-management, tenants and dogs-are very friendly here! McMillen Woods is like living in your own little world but yet it's close to everything! Within 5 miles, you will find doctors; hospital; urgent care; nursing homes; gas stations; shopping; restaurants; churches; hotels; schools including The OSU college branch; COTC technical college & Denison University very close too. Columbus is about 20 minutes from here as well. With all there is to offer here, what more could you possibly want? McMillen Woods Apartments are THE best!! Come see one of the best places around to call home--you'll love it just like I do!!
Overall a nice place. Very clean and well kept. The main problem is the monthly pet fee seems high, especially for indoor cats. Friendly staff, offer security guards from midnight to 5:00 am. They have a pool, several mini playgrounds throughout property. They have a wide selection of floor plans.
