West Des Moines is located in three Iowa counties. Residents of this area enjoy perusing the local shops at Valley Junction, which began in 1893. Today it serves as the city’s business district, flavored by undeniable community tradition. With more than 100 specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants, there’s always something new to discover.
On the other side of West Des Moines, Jordan Creek Town Center occupies a large fashion space that includes a 3.5-acre lake and boardwalk. Many apartments are just minutes from the mall’s stores, movie theater, and lakeside restaurants. The city is located in America’s heartland and has cherished quilting since its existence. Quilt-making goes back to the 18th century in West Des Moines, and many people proudly display their creations at city craft expos.
In addition to quilting, residents of West Des Moines enjoy the local productions at Tallgrass Theatre Company on Vine Street.

Property Ratings at Meadow Chase Apartments
Had a 1-year lease with Meadow Chase and was very satisfied - The apartments are spacious though the layouts are a little unusual (but not detrimentally so). Very affordable rent at the time I lived there (2021-2022). Very quiet neighborhood and very quiet neighbors as well.
My husband and I loved in the townhouse part of the complex for 1.5 years while he was finishing up med school. The location is amazing as there are two shopping complexes 4-8 min away in both directions. It's also close to a couple school and the highway. Jordan creek trail is walking distance away and is also a bike trail. The townhome itself and very spacious and the price is a steal! In unit washer and dryer with a walkout onto your own patio. There's enough parking with a garage option. And Cami and the maintenance guy were always available and happy to help if we had any questions! We loved our place and highly recommend it.
I have lived here for a year now and am renewing my contract. Rent is affordable, and the apartments are clean and well maintained. Whenever something was broken, or we had an issue, they were quick to fix it. The manager Cami is great; she's a very understanding person and does her best to accommodate you. I really like that my neighbors are respectful, and we never have any noise issues or disturbances. It's very peaceful, and nobody gets in your business. Everybody here is really nice, and it feels like home.
I recently moved from out of state, solo, and did not get a chance to see the property in person. Through the entire process, Cami the manager was so thorough, detailed, kind, and helpful. She answered every one of my relentless questions via email. She even brought in my packages that were sent earlier than expected inside the apartment!! Craig, the maintenance person, is kind, patient, and gets the work orders done promptly! When I arrived after travailing through 6 states, I could not back up my trailer, and he not only backed it up, but parked it adjacent to my apartment for me. I have never encountered this type of kindness in the previous state I had lived in, for 25 years. It is a small property, but I have never had such a caring manager as Cami, in all my rental experience. Not only does she go out her way to help, but makes sure everything is smooth. The property is beautiful, even though it is older, it is solidly built and I do not hear my neighbors at all! The upgrade was nice and the garage is huge! It is nestled in a nice mature neighborhood filled with families and the noise level is low. Shopping is within a 8 mile vicinity and there are many bike/walking trails and parks close by! It reminds me of the east coast with the rolling hills and abundance of deciduous trees. Everyone is "Iowa nice" here, such a change from the hustle and bustle of a big metropolitan city. If you have a family and want to live in a safe area, this is definitely the place to be! This property is run smoothly, the tenants are nice and caring, it is clean and well maintained, and they even have a dog park.
Amazing property to live ! Everyone makes you feel welcomed ! It is a Very quiet neighborhood which is amazing . The property manager is amazing , and very good with communication there’s no other property I’d rather be at . thank you so much meadow chase!
I’ve lived here for 2 years and just signed up for another year! Cami is our Manager and she really cares about all of us. She works hard to make sure we’re taken care of and is always available for questions. Craig is our Maintenance Supervisor. He addresses any issues we have very quickly and he’s super nice! I love the location of the apartments. It has a neighborhood feel with trees and lots of places for walking. The walking/bike path is pretty close, too. My dog is happy here, too! There’s a dog park and it’s a great place for dogs to meet up and play. I would recommend Meadow Chase to anyone!
Have lived here for several years and love the place and area! Very quiet and friendly neighborhood and accommodations such as making sure all residents have parking space to the wonderful walking path and parks close by!
Wife and I have lived here for just over 3 years now. We've really enjoyed it. The apartments are spacious and walls thick. Dog park is well maintained!
This has been my favorite apartment complex to live out of all. They upkeep the property and apartments well , respond very quickly to any maintenance issues or concerns, they do fun things for tenants, the apartments themselves are very roomy and nice and clean. It is really quiet here and serene with a lot of trees behind a residential neighborhood. They allow pets and you get your own washer and dryer, there’s also a dog area. They really do go above and beyond! Tenants also receive a parking sticker so parking is always available, and are educated on where to have guests park in the road next to all the buildings. This is to ensure tenants don’t have to search for or not have any parking available. They definitely care about their tenants here!
Grounds are always picked up and the staff get things done
This is a great property! I love the location in the back of a neighborhood. My boyfriend and I had the option of a two bedroom apartment or town home. The apartment was incredible with a HUGE hallway closet and plenty of other closet space! We decided on a town home which is 2 stories. There's a large closet under the stairs, walk in closet in the master bedroom, another closet in the spare bedroom which includes a set up with shelves and multiple bars for hanging clothes and a linen closet. The bedrooms are large as well, with 1.5 bathrooms. The management is great and we have had minimal problems. I would definitely recommend Meadow Chase Apartments!
Pros: -the maintenance is so quick about fixing things. -PooPrints! They send dog poo piles to a lab and fine the dog owner if they are a resident. -they tow non-residents for parking in resident parking areas. -the office does monthly events to try to promote resident relationships. -It's tucked back in a neighborhood and a short walk from a really nice park and another park with a community garden and the Jordan Creek trail. -It has a really good pest control to deal with the inevitable ants etc -fenced in dog park. Cons: -the freeway can be kind of loud, but then again, I think the cicadas are louder.
Really enjoy living in this neighborhood, everyone is so welcoming. Office is always open for concerns and questions. Maintenance is quick and on time if there is a problem. Property on the outside is welcoming and always looking amazing. Townhomes are spacious and welcoming with washer and dryer in the unit. Very nice neighborhood with park and walking/jogging trails right down the road and also access to I-235 right up the street off 50th. Overall great place to have a family!

Thanks so much for your feedback! We are happy you are happy!
Apartments are old and outdated. Washer and Dryers are old and breakdown. Management is blind when it comes to complaining about the riff raff and noise from other tenants, doesn't want to handle it when you complain. Maintenance guy is overworked and needs a PT assistant. But he is great at fixing items that break. Keep him and get rid of the chick in the office.

Interested in a new two bedroom home? Meadow Chase is the place for you. Our units have all new kitchen appliance and new full size washer and dryer in the home. We are tucked back in a quiet residential neighborhood. We have a dog park onsite and each home has private entrance. Please visit our virtual tour to find out if Meadow Chase will be your next home.
AJ is helpful (1 ). Apartment units are a bit dated (0 ) but spacious (1 ), as you can see in floor plan. Cleaning prep staff not great (0 ), as units could be better maintained and staff better trained, which knocked their score, maybe not enough as it reflects a possible maintenance attitude or being overworked. My comment is based on having a very similar apartment at another pricey location, which was older and cleaning staff impeccable. Pricey for what you get (0 ) ... make sure you compare. Regardless, I do like the atmosphere and I think they stay full most of the time so plan far ahead if you are interested. Garages are $50 at this time. Sounds like apartment availability is rarer than townhouse.

Our property has 86 units total and was built in 1990. All the units have been updated with new kitchen appliances and new full size washer and dryer in the home. All of our homes are two bedrooms. The community is quiet and tucked back in the residential neighborhood. Please check out our virtual tour to see if our homes can fit your needs.
Very pet friendly! If you have a dog, this a great place as many of the tenants have dogs, and there is a dog park less than a block away. There are also free doggie bag stations if you forget to bring one. 2 Bedroom apartments have open living room design. Decent amount of cupboard space in kitchen, not a lot of counter space. Fairly new appliances, no microwave and no ice maker in the freezer though. TONS of storage space, there is a walk in hallway closet, a coat closet, and a linen closet. One bedroom has walk in closet, the other has double sliding doors, decent space for hanging clothes. 1 Bathroom has tub/shower, large mirror, storage under sink and small medicine cabinet. Full sized washer and dryer both pretty new. Very friendly staff and maintenance crew, willing to help out tenants when you need anything. Very quick at servicing needs. Drawbacks: bathroom is somewhat small, it would be difficult for 2 people to get ready at the same time. Also, no pool/ workout facility. There are garages for rent, but there are always open parking spots in front of the units. Outdoor entrance, second floor apartments share a front balcony/entrance with the unit next to them where many tenants keep grills, bikes, etc. This apartment complex is tucked away in a neighborhood. The complex is near the interstate but road noise is usually not too bad.
