Property Ratings at Meadow View Apartments
Lived here for two years. As soon as the new management company, Oxford Realty, took over, the place went downhill. So dirty, everything was broken, and they raise your rent annually despite the worsening conditions. What really got me were the roaches. I've never lived somewhere with so many cockroaches. It was impossible to keep up. They would have pest control come, and then never take pest controls advice, so there would just be more and more roaches. Three of the four burners on our oven were broken, we had roaches, a squirrel in the ceiling, and broken heat. And forget about getting help from the super. He was inappropriate and rude constantly. The only person here who was nice to deal with despite the bad apartment conditions was the front desk lady, Sara. She was pleasant and did her best, despite it being an awful mangement company. Do not live here unless you want a bunch of roaches and to waste your money.
If you like to hear every step/conversation your upstairs or side neighbors have. If you want to get your car towed from the parking lot for no reason and have to pay for the fees, if you want maintenance that will take 1 month to come and fix soemthing for you, if you want your trash bins by the parking lot to be piled up so tall that trash starts falling out of the bin and spreads throughout the parking lot than this is the place for you!
they have roaches from ant size to the size of a thumb. they know about them and tell you that you have to pay for pest control. the roaches come from outside and are in the laundry rooms. i am a current resident and i haven't washed my clothes here in months. i can't wait to move out of here.
Don't be misled by the outdated reviews. As of 2020, the apartment complex is infested with roaches and the management refuses to address the issue.
I have to be honest I was really hesitant about moving into an apartment complex. I have always owned my own home . I had heard so many horror stories about so many of them. I learned about this complex from a resident and decided to check it out. That was eight months ago I moved here in in June 2018. I am so pleased with my decision . First and foremost the superintendent named Freddy is outstanding . He handles any situation that arises with a sense of urgency . Most of the time either he himself or one of his maintenance technicians get on a issue that day . As an example I called the office manager Sarah( who is also lovely and eager to help ) just today because my towel bar detached from the wall . She must relay the information to him in real time because things are handled and problems solved in the most impressive way. It’s obvious he takes pride in his job and keeping things in good working order . Whether it’s snow removal , keeping the grounds free of debris or litter you see him and his team constantly attending to the community . I have really enjoyed living here it’s a stress free ,close to parks and highways and great schools . I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to rent .
Property Manager at Meadow View Apartments, Responded To This Review
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
The landlord is amazing, she listens and tends to everything. You will not regret moving here, the apartments are huge, neighbors are sooo friendly. The pride the staff takes shows in the apartment. A highly recommend.
The apartments are huge, and the staff is very professional. They really care about us and keeping the grounds looking amazing. Highly recommend living here. The location is perfect; close to all highways, and a walk from downtown new Brunswick.
Donaldson Park was just an item on my list of apartments that I was visiting. However after meeting the landlord and the initial tour, I fell in love with the atmosphere of the whole place. The apartments also come with balconies which are a perfect extension of the living space. I highly recommend these apartments, especially to students seeking off campus housing and to grad students as well.
I have lived at Donaldson Park Apartments for the past two years and have had such a great experience. I moved to New Jersey to attend graduate school at Rutgers, and working with the management here during that transition was so much less stressful than it could have been, as they are organized and easy to communicate with. The management is what truly makes living here easy--they have always been super courteous and prompt in responding to any concern. I have called in approximately three times over the past two years for very minor fixes and all of them were addressed the day I called. It's very clear the management cares about keeping things running smoothly, and as a tenant, you don't feel ignored. On top of great management, the area around the apartments is very peaceful, enjoyable to walk around, and close to a great park! If you want to feel taken care of as a tenant, make sure to check these out!
Great option for an apartment! Donaldson Park Apartments are very close to downtown Highland Park and it is easy to access downtown New Brunswick, Route 1, Route 18, NJ Transit, and Rutgers’ campus. Overall, the apartment complex is quiet and very safe. The maintenance staff was helpful and responsive. In terms of amenities, the laundry is located in the basement of the buildings, which was very convenient. The apartments stay very warm in the winter, and there are built-in AC units for the summer! I would definitely recommend these apartments for any graduate students looking for a place to live!
