Property Ratings at Meadowlark
The office staff and maintenance are great and care about your quality of living.
When I first moved into the apartment everything was okay for the price I was paying. Over the summer I noticed that people were smoking in the stairwells and leaving their trash such as dirty used napkins, bandaids, crumpled up bags of fast food, and so much more. The residents here are absolutely disgusting! They leave their garbage outside of the dumpster and make this place look more like a dump than it already is. In the 18 months that I’ve lived here the fitness room closest to my building has been closed and was told when I moved in that it would be opened up shortly. 18 months later and still have not opened it. Would not recommend to anyone
My husband and I lived in a two bedroom over the past year. The maintenance was always quick with requests, we didn't notice any loud neighbors, and the management would put on activities for the residents! Not too far of a drive from my work downtown as it is close to the highway.
My wife and I lived here for a year. We really enjoyed living in Grimes and our experience here was very positive. Maintenance was fantastic. They would come and fix next business day and management was great to work with. Never had any problems with neighbors or noise or anything. Very pleasant experience.
I have lived at Meadowlark Place for over 4 years and I have no complaints! They allow large dogs and provide bags to keep the property clean. I love the convenience of having a washer and dryer in my unit. The people in the leasing office are easy to communicate with and maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner. I always recommend this complex when I hear that anyone is looking for a new apartment!
Spacious layout, modern, and great communication between landlord and tenant! I’ve been here for 2 years and this is the first place in the last 8 years that I’ve resigned a leAse at!
I have lived at Meadowlark Place in Grimes for a year and an a half now and we have been very happy here. The apartments are spacious with modern floor plans with full size washer/dryer in each unit. The amenities are great when you have children and the neighbors are friendly. Great place to live!
I have lived here for about 6 months with my daughter and we love it! The amenities are great and maintenance is quick. We have some great neighbors and Kaitlin in the office is super friendly! Our apartment is very spacious and I love having a washer and dryer in our unit! We also love the parties and get togethers hosted by the office staff! My daughter has not quit talking about the free ice cream we had a couple months ago. It’s very appreciated!
I have lived at Meadowlark in Grimes, Iowa for a little over 3 years now. I've experienced a few different on site property managers and I have to say that Scott, Rachel and Kaitlyn are some of the best! I have a child in elementary and there are many things that Meadowlark offers that we take full advantage of. There is a splash pad, swimming pool, lounge chairs, grills, bonfire pit (gas), playground area, clubhouses that you can rent for little to no expense with a small deposit in case of damage and a movie theater room that kids love! I've held 2 of my sons bday parties here and always get rave reviews about the space and activities. I also have a pet and they offer bags and trash cans for disposal. I've noticed that they are diligent about making sure the dog excrement is picked up and repercussions for not doing so are clearly posted. In addition, landscaping and mowing services are well kept and snow removal is clearly marked, so that we know when to move vehicles so it can be done. I believe the current staff is some of the best I've experienced thus far. They hold community activities each month, some examples are: ice cream truck, school supply giveaway, games outside, grilling, etc...all as socials to get to know your neighbors and property staff, along with a lot of free food and beverage. They even did a doggy dive on the last day before they closed the pool! The communication is great via email and signs posted on the doors so you are aware of things as they come up. I've had some maintenance items that need to be addressed. From simple things such as light bulbs needing changed that I can't reach due to the high ceilings, to securing the paneling above my unit due to the damage a storm caused. All were completed within the day or as soon as the parts came in and the gentlemen who perform those services are very knowledgeable and kind. I can't say enough good things about this place. In fact, my only complaints are about people who live here not doing as they should and I feel like those are being weeded out as well. If you don't comply, you are fined, received reminders and warnings or you don't get to stay. I'm happy to call this place my home!
I love living here!! The people here are amazing and so friendly
I have lived here for 3.5 years now and have no complaints. I have seen management turnover a lot but still get prompt email replies when requesting maintenance or any questions. They always give 24 hr notice for pest control and other apartment maintenance issues as well. I also feel safe to let my kids ride their bikes around and go to the playground by themselves.
Great community, beautiful place even better school district!
I enjoy having the pool and exercise room. They even set up a garden space over the summer!! They offer community events each month from cookie decorating to bingo. There are gas grills and a firepit for use as well. Very nice amenities!
Don't bother contacting them if you expect timely communication or ethical practices.
I can't wait for my lease to be up at Meadowlark because noise is such an issue here. I dread coming home every evening after work because I know that I will have to listen to my upstairs neighbor(s) stomp around, drop stuff, throw stuff, etc for 5 hours every night (there is no sitting quietly on my couch, enjoying TV or reading a book without being startled by the noise). Also, I am in an apartment next to a stairwell and it sounds like people are going to come through the walls when they are going up and down the stairs, so I don't sleep in the bedroom because the noise is so bad most of the day and evening. Needless to say, I am not able to sleep in or go to bed early because I must be on everyone else's schedule. The walls are so thin that I can hear my next door (and upstairs neighbor) slam their microwaves and drawers in their kitchens. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to have faux hardwood in apartments was clearly not thinking, because the noise really carries. There is no consideration for people living around other people here. The rules don't apply to all residents...you aren't supposed to have gas grills, but people do, and no one picks up after their dogs. This is by far the worst apartment complex I've lived in and can't wait to get out.
so August of last year I had to do a drastic change in my life I have been married almost 10 years and our relationship was very bad I have two young boys and Meadow Lark apartments was my escape I have been here over a year just renewed my lease have been very pleased with the staff and the amenities that come with it, they are adding new buildings and we will have a pool next year that my kids are very excited to use very humbled for the changes in my life and largely having a place of my own.
We have lived here for the last two years. We moved in because we were impressed by how updated everything is. Very modern, clean and there is controlled access. We have stayed because of the friendly staff, wonderful maintenance and just a safe and friendly atmosphere. I appreciate the gym, although I haven't used it much and my daughter loves the splash pad and play ground. We appreciate being able to use the community room for special events and there are regular community activities organized by the staff.
This apartment provides a lot of things for children of all ages ranging from a splash pad to a movie theater room. It is located out of the city for a small town feel, but is minutes away from major shopping malls and downtown!
This is the perfect location if you want a quick walk to shopping centers or places to eat. Its kid friendly with a splash pad and play ground with grills to use. Club house offers a movie room. fittness center and a computer area. grounds are kept clean. Maintance is great. Easy access to the interstate. Centeral located 10 min from downtown. Its like being located in the middle of city. Secure access into the building.
My wife and I have lived at Meadowlark Place for almost 3 years now. Any issues that we have had, have been dealt with promptly. The community is pet friendly, for those of us with furry friends. With a short 10 minute drive, you can find just about anything you need. Buildings have secured main entrances. Courtyard has a cool splash pad for kids to enjoy during simmer. Free access to 24-hour fitness center. Also, a huge movie theatre style room for get togethers for the big games or friends and family movies.
Great place. Great area. Friendly staff. Awesome place for kids. Love the washer/dryer in unit. Huge balcony. Very close to Urbandale and Johnston. Beautiful layout. They are always having activities for the kids which I think is GREAT! The splash pad is really cool. I have been here for 3 years and plan on staying for a long time.
I went to Meadowlark Place a few weeks ago to look at some of their units. I have been looking for a new apartment for a month or so, having no luck at many different apartment communities. All of the staff at Meadowlark have been very helpful. The apartments are beautiful. They come with a colorful accent wall, great new appliances, nice carpet. I'm now into Meadowlark this weekend because of how impressed I was. It's really tough to beat.
