The adjacent towns of Manheim and Lititz pride themselves as true examples of small-town American charm. Lititz's downtown district has a reputation as a shopping mecca and hosts over 50 unique, locally-owned shops and restaurants. Manheim is the home of the largest auto auction in the world, Manheim Auto Auction, which brings in thousands of prospective buyers each day.
Lititz and Manheim lie approximately 80 miles northwest of central Philadelphia. Located in rural Lancaster County, these twin towns sport a lush landscape and an authentic, non-touristy feel. This provides the ideal place to raise a family or to retire in a beautiful, quiet community.

Property Ratings at Meadows East
We’ve lived in this complex for over two years and used to love living here, but things have really changed. Maintenance is still wonderful and always does their best, though it’s clear that they don’t have the budget to make more long-term repairs. That’s not their fault. If you’re unfortunate enough to live in the very back of the complex, staff put ALL the illegally dumped furniture from the whole complex at your dumpster area (and it’s a LOT; there’s currently a huge pile with more being added as we speak). This is probably so prospective tenants don’t come here and think that this is a literal dump, but it’s a big problem. Not only is it a huge eyesore, but wet furniture also starts to smell after awhile and has been known to blow off the pile and near vehicles during strong windstorms. Again, this isn’t the fault of maintenance or maintenance support staff; they’re just doing as they’re told. Things really went downhill after we moved from one apartment to another. Leaky ceilings, poorly placed carpet, old appliances that don’t work well, living beside a dump. We’ll be staying for another year in hopes that things go back to how they used to be (and because moving is expensive), but our hopes aren’t high.
We’ve lived here for over two years now and have loved it ever since we moved in. The complex is beautiful and well-maintained, and we love the little pond and all the nice walkways. There are also flowerbeds around each building, which are so pretty to look at. It’s pretty quiet here, which we appreciate, and typically the only sounds are those of kids playing outside. The walls inside also aren’t super thin like some other places. There’s an abundance of parking and the complex is also located across the street from a shopping center with Weis and some other useful businesses. The maintenance folks are always courteous, professional, and quick to respond. Amy (the property manager) is so sweet and always delightful to interact with. She’s genuinely happy to help with absolutely anything, and is easy to get a hold of. We’re so happy we ended up here and plan on staying here for years to come!
Property Manager at Meadows East, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your kind words! The Staff at Meadows East is happy to have residents like you and hope you are able to enjoy many more years with us.
I've lived here for 2 and 1/2 years now, and I just love the location and the management staff, especially Amy!! She is always happy and friendly and goes to any and all lengths to be sure that our home is taken care of and that we are happy in our homes. I didn't know that she was the one going around and closing our outdoor garbage bins after the trash-collectors came!! Between that and her making sure our park-lamp got fixed, she single-handedly got rid of the skunks that had been plaguing us! Anytime I have anything that needs repaired, they are always very quick to respond!! And, they usually leave a little card in the door to let us know they were here and what they did for me. Ben has been especially wonderful; he always fixes things to be even better than they were before, is sure to leave everything the way he found it, and is very respectful of my place! He just recently came in to replace a stove burner than I had accidentally damaged, and he not only replaced it for me (for even cheaper than I could find one on my own!) but also restored the two main burners to work even better than they did before!! I came home and thought at first that I had a new stovetop!!! The owners have also been really great; they were very understanding to my plight of getting into a place that was completely smoke-free and did much, much more than I ever thought to help me with that need. I'm so grateful to them for giving me a comfortable place to call home!
This is the ideal place to live, close to supermarket hardware store close to the middle school, high school, there's also a very nice parks near by,
