Northwest, as its name suggests, is a large community immediately northwest of Downtown Dayton. The area is a mix of rural and suburban with the residential areas situated along the eastern sides of town. Peaceful neighborhoods make up most of the area, and renters have the choice of a variety of affordable low-rise apartments. Despite its rural feel , Northwest is equipped with all the necessities through the retail centers along Highways 49 and 48. More exciting attractions are located just south in the heart of Dayton, and outdoor recreation is abundant thanks to the Miami River and Mad River, both running through Dayton.

Property Ratings at Meadows of Catalpa
This is a nice apartment. Coming from home with many stairs it helps to be able to walk right in. Quiet neighbors and staff have been respectful and helpful!
I went to your a 1 bedroom here and I like them. The area that they had available seems really nice and quiet. The grounds were clean and the landscaping looks nice. I’ll be moving from Nc to OH next month. So far this is my top choice!
Apartment has been great so far. Very spacious, beautiful updates. Color scheme is very nice. Grey walls, new style vinyl and grey carpet. The office staff and maintenance has been great! I don’t go specifically off of reviews. I like to see what my own experience would be. And I’m happy I have them a chance!
This property is not a good area to live in. No cameras over the building. Neighbors rude. Office landlord's unprofessional and messy. Unsafe living. Balcony filled with mold. Maintenance LAZY. I can go on and on about MEADOWS OF CATALPA. In other words NEVER MOVE HERE. you will be unsatisfied and should have thought twice.
Lived here for 2 years. Moving in was fine, but the maintenance needed some work!! Most of the times they would respond with speed, but this particular instance was horrible. A nail in the floorboards came up, and the nail wouldn't go down. Therefore, my partner injured her food badly due to this inconvenience. Mind you, we told the apartment about this nail and they did nothing, weeks later nothing, then the incident happened and all of a sudden they cared. We should've sued, but were too poor to do so. :( On the bright side, we were able to have parties in the apartment without fuss from the neighbors:) But the main downfall was the maintenance.... hince the 3 stars, it wasn't all bad but unmaintained maintenance could leave a bad taste in someone's mouth...
I've only been here a month and I regret moving here. The office staff is clueless about everything. The maintenance doesn't fulfill the work orders. They want your money but they won't spend the money to get their units fixed correctly.
The worst experience EVER with that property manager. Very rude! VERY disrespectful! And spewed many things untrue concerning my account. Claims of fees due to non payment. I have all of my receipts! Claims of letters supposedly left. Untrue. I have all that I need to back up my end to include any health issues from the leak from the hole in the wall caused by balcony upstairs when it rains No one to fix it yet. But spray painted the mold first time it happened.i have been a great tenant who pays and causes no trouble..clearly not as pleasing as all of the drug money circulating. It appears those are the ones not asked to leave. My complaint WILL NOT stop here though. However this platform is definitely necessary! I warn anyone of the new property manager and her hostility. She does NOT need to be in a position of first, representing a corporation and second responsible for communication and service of other humans. You cannot talk to people like you're mad at your man or something! I didn't say nor do a thing to be talked to that way. But it will be handled. And I don't have to get ugly like you chose to do. People reading, do as you want, but beware of her and think twice. Please note, this complaint is ONLY ABOUT THE PROPERTY MANAGER. Office staff and maintenance are spectacular! I NEVERRRRRRR leave reviews but I had to stress the importance of this....do not move here!!! If I could give them zero stars I would. I'm so very serious. They made claims that we turned in our rent late 6 times during our 1 year lease when we in fact didn't. The manager even WROTE down the days we turned in money orders (which were clearly on time) and she still couldn't see they weren't late. We eventually got the issue solved but I'm convinced they try this on multiple tenants. The manager then claimed that she sends notices once a month to the tenants who have late fees but SOMEHOW we didn't receive a SINGLE ONE!!! We received their notices about everything else but that; their sister properties have a history of doing this as well. If you decide to move there anyway, keep every receipt...don't use the Dropbox. The maintenance there are the absolute slowest! We had maintenance issues from day one to the very end. The leasing agents are extremely unprofessional and poorly trained; they never answer the phone, they don't give definitive answers and they definitely do not take responsibility for their errors (note the late rent issue). We never once got an apology for that mishap and they still tried to pin it on us. The apartments are nice looking on the inside but honey, the neighbors are ratchet and loud. Please just consider moving somewhere else, I really do not want this to happen to anyone else. There are other places out there.
Horrible is the best word i can describe the management team of this apartment complex. If you think your stuff will get fixed in time then you dreaming. Their maintenance orders take sometimes couple of weeks just to fix an AC. The gym is trash everything is rusty and most equipments dose not work. Add to that their prices are really ridiculous to what they have to offer and compared to other places. I really don't recommend anyone to live there. I lived in Medows of catalpa for more than a year. honestly the apartments are really not bad i liked the environment, but the real issue is with the poor management. In last June somone went in the Dropbox and stole the rent money orders from the office and they held all the talents the responsibility for paying that month's rent money back. I was one of the people that i had my money order stolen from tge Dropbox, and when they called me the said that i shouldn't worry about it at first and that they had everything and everyone who paid on camera. Fast forward to last week when i called to check about what is going on with my deposit the lady in the office told me i have a balance and that i will not get my money back because i didn't pay the month of Jun! I told her i still have the receipt for that order. She said i have to trace it and get a paper from Western Union to prove that i paid firm them. Even though i did and i have my receipt that shows that. So be aware.
At first glance, all is well. The countertops are painted so if you don't clean up a spill right away the paint bubbles, paper sticks to it, and/or it gets moldy! When I moved in, there were a few things I wanted fixed that weren't addressed for weeks, after several calls to the office. I called emergency maintenance once (in the winter) because my heat wasn't working. After an hour and a half I called back because I hadn't heard anything. Two calls to emergency maintenance later and still no one ever came or even called for that matter. If you don't require much assistance from the office or maintenance then Meadows of Catalpa is a decent place to live. I've never had an issue with my neighbors. The location is pretty central to downtown and major highways.
