Property Ratings at Meadows
Look for newer properties or possibly something not owned by Lynd Living. Fees everywhere! Old buildings that they do not wish to upkeep outside of what's absolutely required. - Property company will nickel and dime you for every small thing (paying rent electronically requires almost $15 fee, expensive washer/dryer machines, cheap rent advertised but over $100 in monthly fees they fail to mention until the very end) The lease is set up so they can collect on any small thing! $100 for a parking tag sticker! - Mgmt looked at the pics and said those vents are clean! There was dirt on my floors everytime the A/C ran, white spore-looking things inside of the vents (pictured) and was told "well they were built in the 60s" They are not looking for the best in their community, simply what gets them the most $$$ out of their community. Owned by a property company with hundreds of rentals, you're nothing more than a line in a spreadsheet to them!

Do you want to live in a place that's always broken? Then you should live here. Management is awful, the buildings were built back in the 60's or something. Overpriced and out of date. The other reviews on here are fake. I will not recommend anyone to live. Plenty of other apartments in the area. Lynd is the worst company.

This community had been my home for several years. They have had their share of issues like any apartment community. But they always go above and beyond. I would like to say that maintenance is always there when I have any kind of emergency or maintenance request. And the girls in the office over the last couple of years are a ray of sunshine. They always answer any questions I have and always communicate when situations arise. I feel so cared about through COVID and now the winter storm. I hope to call this my home for many more years.
TL;DR: don’t live here unless you want constant problems with mold and bugs, a useless maintenance team, and jacked up rent after every lease renewal. I lived here for two years, and had countless problems. The maintenance team they have now is worthless. They make messes and don’t clean up when they leave, and they won’t believe you when you tell them the problems you have. The apartment had mold growing in the ventilation system, as well as in the bathroom cabinet and under the kitchen sink, causing us to constantly be sick and have allergy attacks. We constantly had bugs and ants in our apartment, because the door didn’t seal properly, we had a rat when we moved in, and the office did nothing about any of it. When we moved out, they charged us four months worth of utilities and an extra $300 just to leave. They also charged us another $350 after we left, because the maintenance team lied and said we threw furniture in the dumpster and didn’t make any attempt to clean, despite the fact that we cleaned for the better part of a week. Do not move here. They will jack up your rent when you try to renew, and then beg you to stay.
Ive lived here for almost 2 years now, mainly due to it being in a very convenient spot for both my job and my wife's job. Over the past years their has been a number of problems in my unit, Ive had the common appliance failures(stove/fridge) which were remedied in less than a day. However, when something major happens i.e. : Faucet breaks spraying water everywhere and the shutoffs are frozen shut due to age, they dont respond for at least 3 hours(thankfully my drains were perfect so not much water damage other than what was sprayed on the walls.) Or my neighbor who has been here longer who's A/C broke and was left sitting with no A/C or Heat for over 2 weeks(during which whenever they inquired about it the maintenance workers would make rude comments and slurs about his person, Once I had told them of what was happening they moved out within the following week. It has also prompted myself to move out as well as soon as my lease is up, which couldnt come any sooner. Ive tried complaining to their Corporate(Lynd) but as it turns out they just hang up on you or not even answer their phones. All in all, I would not live here again or recommed it to others.
Built in 1974, spacious living rooms, nice size bedrooms, but the quite area is what sold me. My neighbors are nice and polite!! The area surrounding the apartment is a very nice well groomed housing neighborhood. And the shopping stores are just in around the corner. This place is growing big which is good, because now you don't have to drive so far to get to what you want. I could not ask for anything more!
I have lived at the Meadows in universal city, for almost 2 years now. The management is very friendly, as well as the residents. I suggest these apartments to all my friends, they are in a very quiet safe area and near lots of shopping.
