Property Ratings at The Medici
I am currently residing in an apartment unit that has been an absolute nightmare due to severe roach issues and an utterly incompetent management team. My experience here has been so dreadful that I feel compelled to share my story in the hopes of sparing others from the ordeal I've endured. Roach Infestation: From the day I moved in, it became evident that the apartment had a severe roach infestation problem. These revolting pests were everywhere – in the kitchen, bathroom, and even in my bedroom. No amount of pest control treatments seemed to make a difference. It was a constant source of stress and disgust. Ineffective Pest Control: The management's response to the roach infestation was nothing short of inept. Despite multiple complaints and requests for action, their pest control efforts were ineffective and inconsistent. It felt like they were merely going through the motions without a genuine commitment to resolving the issue. Health Concerns: Living in an environment infested with roaches posed serious health risks. I worried incessantly about the potential for food contamination and the spread of diseases. Negligent Management: The management team's incompetence extended beyond just pest control. The general upkeep of the building was abysmal, and they displayed a complete lack of concern for the well-being of their tenants. Stress and Frustration: The constant battle with roaches and the management's indifference caused immense stress and frustration. It was disheartening to feel trapped in a lease agreement with no way out, as breaking the lease would have been financially crippling. Medici's tagline is "Redefining Luxury". Indeed, they are defining it.

Their response time is awful. They don’t provide clear instructions and then they’ll charge you extra for their mistake. 100% do not recommend this place.

Once you get here your experience quickly starts to deteriorate. The staff are not welcoming. The line of communication regarding concerns is not very open. Amenities are not readily available or accessible every day. The amenities are also outdated. Constant fire alarm testing in the mornings.
I've been here about a month. The bldg is airbnb central, people are constantly parked in your spot(IF and when you get one), elevators are broken, rooftop is closed, the place is in desperate need of updating. I despise it here. It's worth it to pay a few hundred dollars more a month to get a place that has management that actually care, and a place that looks nice. And all of the RECENT reviews are true: management just lies and doesn't care. Stay away.
I would give the original owner at least 3 stars as they seem to wanted this place to be a nice community. Unfortunately for them the current management company is making the place so hard to live in. They simply don't care about tenants and straight up lie about everything. From not answering phone calls or emails EVER to old equipment always breaking down and never get fixed. Do you think they should call this "Luxury" apartments if they want you to live with no AC for months when it's over 100 degrees outside??? ...seriously considering breaking my lease and getting out of here
The management don't care about the tenants. The good reviews seem professionally written too so I'd be careful in considering them.
All the great reviews for this place are fake!!!! (just check the locations of the people giving the reviews) This is a terrible place to live in. I have been living here for a year and half and now i'm just counting my days till my lease gets over. the list of complaints is endless, With ofcourse no regards given to any of them from the 'amazing' staff that is being praised in some of the fake reviews here. if you want a building that doesnot have a functioning elevator, has Airbnb guests causing a nuisance, and disgusting corridors and staircases, then you can consider living here. if you want decent living conditions, donotttt live here!!!!!
Lived here for about a year, Clean property, nice place, One pool that is 6ft depth, Another pool only 3ft depth "The fake pool", good maintains and repairs, overpriced $300 to replace keys, Hugh homeless problem south side of complex, neighbors are pretty relaxed, younger crowd, fire alarms go off randomly for some reason, elevators never work!!! try to live in "B" building its better maintained.
I've been living at the Medici for about a week and so far everything has been great! It's in an amazing area close to restaurants, shopping, and groceries. For Downtown LA, rent isn't too bad either. All of the staff is super friendly and the amenities are great. Hopefully I'll get to live here for a long time!
When you live at the Medici, you are paying for convenience and the beautiful facilities. No need to have a car when you are within walking distance of the grocery store, the pharmacy, metro stops, and even la live. The apartment itself allows you to cancel your gym membership and enjoy nightly swims with a gorgeous view of Los Angeles. However, when you walk into the actual building, the hallways are pretty dirty and the apartments themselves aren't anything to write home about. All in all, the whole package makes it definitely worth the price.
Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, this building is a luxurious Italian escape. The TWO pools, and TWO fitness centers are beautifully maintained and of great quality. The staff is kind and helpful, and the units are quite spacious. Equipped with a private park, and tennis court, these apartments are a true joy to call home.
after trying to find apartments around DTLA/culver city area for two months using other rent apps, I was so stressed, then this app led me right to my home The Medici :) This app is so detailed and up to date with ALL the apts in the area. Ryan at Medici was so helpful with all the apt info and moving in details. Ryan made sure to find us a unit with all our requests. Living here so far is nice. Its really quiet at night because the walls and windows are very soundproof thts important because there are alot of sirens blaring in DTLA, The plumbing is good and water system works well. They installed new carpets for us upon move in and made sure everything was fixed before moving in. The amenities are a real plus. Pools, lounge, a library, gym, etc. and the Medici is affordable compared to all the other GH Palmer residents with very similar amenities. Also has the least USC students out of the six GH Palmer reisdences. I gave it a minus one star because some people living here are not very courteous of others. But not too much of a problem. Overall nice place to live compared to other places in DTLA!
Lets be honest, living in Downtown L.A. is not cheap. After looking at apartments for nearly 3 months, I finally came across the Medici. The two bed and two bath is more than enough space for my roommate and I. At first, I was a little hesitant about how much the rent was (because it was at the edge of my budget), but I couldn't let the opportunity of living in the heart of L.A. slip away. Pros: Living at the Medici, I'm literally a 3 minute walk from 7th and Fig, a 8 minute walk to Staples Center / LA Live, and no more than a $5 Uber to any bars or restaurants I want to visit around downtown. The location is everything for this place. You're just out the edge of downtown where you're not dealing with the hustle and bustle, but also close enough to all the activities LA has to offer. You also don't have to drive far to get on the freeway, too (the 110 ramp is right down the street). Aside from the location, the amenities that the Medici offers is also a big money saver. Most apartment gyms don't come equipt with enough equipment to workout on - That's not the case here. The gym has just enough stuff that I decided to not renew my gym membership since I can just workout at home. In addition, the entire apartment complex is clean, quiet, and peaceful. It's just what you need to be around after a 12 hour shift at work. Cons: The only "bad" thing I would have to say about the Medici would be the street parking. Each bedroom comes with a parking space, so I don't have a issue with parking. However, when I have guest over, it's a little difficult to find street parking around the area. I usually just tell them to park at the 7th and Fig parking lot, and walk over. It's not a big deal, but it's something to be noted. (I'm sure most downtown complexes have the similar issue though). All in all, I'm extremely happy with my experience here. The only thing I hope now is that my roommate renews the lease with me, because I definitely do not want to move out!
