Property Ratings at Melville
I moved in and everything was fine at first after a month I hear nothing but loud cars and music all throughout the night. Kinda over it I would love some sleep and peace and quiet. I would also like to throw my trash away without driving down the block to the nearest trash can.
Property Manager at Melville, Responded To This Review
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered due to the noise and lack of nearby trash cans. We understand the importance of a peaceful living environment and will take your feedback into consideration for future improvements.
This apartment was good when we first moved in, now it's horrible and wouldn't recommend this place at all. Roaches, overflowing dumpsters at times, and the staff doesn't understand why u are upset when they charge prices as high as they do, but this place is an absolute dump. Security is horrible too. Never see them at all and I've had lost of stuff stolen out of my vehicle and had my car stolen at one point too.
If you enjoy be blasted by music from your neighbor constantly at a volume you can't escape, a growing roach problem, filthy common areas, piles of broken glass in the parking lot with more added every week, then this is the place for you. The new management team seems to have no idea what's enumerated in their own lease and the corporate office breaks promises.
Only live here if you don’t mind finding snakes in your apartment. Rats running around. Roaches all over your counters and in your things. They don’t listen to the community. And then they just increased my rent $300 after I’ve been here for 3 years??? Not worth it. Trust me
Lived here for 3+ years. Very pleased with the current management team, as they are prompt to assist with any requests and are community orientated. They offer lots of things for everyone that lives here, from events and cookouts, to swimming lessons and a health center.

Thank you for calling Legends on Lake Highlands home. It is our passion to provide exceptional service to our residents, and we are happy to hear that we have exceeded your expectations! Your compliments have brightened up our day, and we hope to see you at our next event! Best, Christina M., Community Director - Legends on Lake Highlands
I initially moved here just as a "right now" experience right after relocating to the DFW area. New management are working diligently to make this a Community of COMMON UNITY with new educational programs, tutoring/summer programs for residents' children, a health kiosk and events used to meet and greet with neighbors. Also, they've cleaned up the facilities alot. I actually GO TO the on-site laundry facility now. It was dirty, filled with spider webs and trash before. The new Property Manager, Christina, is approachable, hands-on and engaged. She is proactive, collaborative, and visible...even answering phones when they're short-staffed. That management style has attributed to making this a huge improvement from when I first moved in.
Great place to live. Great maintenance, move here june 2017 haven't had any problems, love it so far
The ONLY reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the assistance manager, Priscilla. My apartment is beautiful and I have no complaints in regards to that. However, I have had to jump through a large amount of hoops just to move in. The leasing office lacks greatly in communication. The property manager Johanna is inefficient and lacks knowledge of leasing rules and requirements. If you decide to move here, avoid all other leasing members and go straight to Priscilla, who in my opinion should be promoted to manager. I have been to the office a total of 8 times in the last month trying to provide them with what they need and I kept getting called back because of the lack of communication and false information between staff members. Priscilla took over my file and in less than an hour she efficiently took care of all my needs and completed all necessary paperwork for me.
If I could give 0 stars I would!! Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Ac KEEPS going out! They put a window unit in which uses up more electricity. My lights/power randomly goes out for hours. Maintenance takes their LYING lazy time turning the power back on. There's been a wasp nest for months that I've been complaining to them about. TERRIBLE ROACH PROBLEM. A BIG RAT (Like the New York ones) ran through my apt. And they say they wont put poison down because its "inhumane". Management are LAZY LIARS!!! They claim work orders haven't been put in the system because i didnt call. Which is a huge lie!! I call almost twice a week. Everything about this place is disgusting. Horrible place with rude horrible management!!! Johana and Priscilla are liars. So is the maintenance man!!!
Me gusta todo de aqui. Ya tenemos dos anos viviendo y no pienso en mover me. La gerencia es muy amable.
We have been here for four years, and nothing gets done. We moved here because it was a nice place to stay, but as the management has changed so has the clientele. There are drug deals that go on, and we are told to contact the police because it isn't their job. Men have followed my wife and daughter home asking them if they could come in, even after they say no. The office says again call police because there is nothing we can do. We have called about maintenance problems, only to be told that there is no work order because no one has called. There is black mold growing in the bathroom, in the AC unit, the exhaust fan in the bathroom is broken, and the paint used in the tubs is cheap and peeling. It was nice now I can't wait to leave. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
I think I will recommend the apartments, It's a nice place to leave, "" THEY JUST NEED CHECK THE APARTMENTS BEFORE PEOPLE MOVE IN ,
We thought Legends on Lake Highland was going to be perfect. Between the location and the price and size it was everything we were looking for. One day we went and saw the model unit which is very nice. We know that these are always done up way nicer than the actually units because of the nice furniture and all so we figure it was a good place with a dog park even! We decided to apply and the approval process took longer than expected and was expensive $209 for two people $154 for joint application for married people and then after approval they called and said you can 24 hours for deposit. It was really uneasy for us to give them more money after not getting to see an actually layout so finally we were able to and the unit was HORRIBALE. While we were waiting on application pro approval we read more and more review how this place is has a pest problem. After seeing the unit we realized this place wasn't what we expected to give the benefits of the doubt we found some residents who lived there for 5 years and didn't have much good to say.
This place is really great. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The grounds are really kept well. The pool area is really nice, with great lounge chairs and a huge grill. It's so conveniently located to White Rock Lake, Flag Pole Hill and Northpark. The gates keep the drive through traffic down and the safety high.
I won't to relocate to a new location more room closet space new carpet upgraded kitchen and bathroom.
They have two separate buildings, the gated, newer, nicer, updated building and the older, non gated building. You have to continuously remind them of an issue or it will never get fixed. I'm very disappointed with the lack of care to their tenants.
My daughter home, because when with first time with moved to the apartment she was happy, The school is two blocks away, The shopping center is located around the area, All the maintenance people work at the apartment they are very fast to do the work orders in the ladies work at the office they help alot, I loved this apartment my wife in my daughter loved, I want to stay in this apartment until my daughter finish school.
