On the west side of Baltimore, extending along the Patapsco River and with Patapsco Valley State Park extending along its west side, Catonsville provides a picturesque setting just minutes from the city. Catonsville is a college town, home to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and the Community College of Baltimore County. Frederick Road serves as Catonsville's main street, lined with historic architecture and containing a variety of shops, art galleries, restaurants, and other businesses.
Catonsville is home to several great destinations and landmarks. Hilton, built in 1825, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion is located on what was known as "Taylor's Forest," first surveyed in 1678. Today, it is part of Patapsco Valley State Park, and the Hilton Area Hike Start is located off Hilltop Road. UMBC is home to the Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall, a performing arts venue.

Property Ratings at Melvin Park
Melvin Park Apartments is a great place to live! The employees are very friendly and helpful. It’s also a really nice neighborhood, I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a nice place to live.
Lady at the front desk is extremely rude. My apartment was infested with bed bugs and roaches upon move in. The neighborhood is terrible. Signing a lease here turned out to be a complete nightmare for me and my family.
I move into my apartment home in 5 days and the experience in getting to this point was excellent. Me. Alvarez was simply amazing, helpful and patient. I can’t wait to start my journey here at Melvin Park. - M. L
At first management seemed to be on top of things and communicated with tenelants properly. That was the first year, so I signed on for another year. Welcome bed bugs and roaches that seemed to have just magically appeared. Tried to communicate with management and it was treated once, no more after that. I had found a company that could help annialate the problem and Melvin Park declined. So now me, my one year old and husband are waiting on them to give us a scheduled time as to when their mysterious exterminator will come and temporarily fix the problem. So if you want to share you apartment with pests come on in.
Property Manager at Melvin Park, Responded To This Review
Thank you for sharing your review about your recent stay at our community. We apologize for the inconvenience that pest issues may have caused to your family. We understand how stressful and upsetting it can be dealing with a pest issue. It is important to us that our residents feel comfortable living in their home. Any pest related concern is considered a high priority issue for our team. Our community has an eradication plan for various types of pest including bed bugs. We work diligently with an our residents and an integrated pest management company to implement the most effective treatment plan for each individual pest issue. Treatment plans vary based on the type of pest and level of activity. Preparation instructions and action plans are tailored and reviewed in person with our residents prior to treatments to ensure a successful outcome. We are very sorry that the outcome of your experience was not a success. Again, I apologize for any missed communication from our staff or pest control company. We wish all the best in your new home.
For a person and family starting a new life in US, paying 71% of his low monthly income for apartment rent is hard to think, but I am trying to survive by reducing the staff goes to my stomach. The apartment, my family living, is relatively OK with 2 bed rooms. The green grass around the apartment looks beautiful. The apartment lacks some facilities in bathroom and looks old. The three closet rails are not working. The apartment office does not respond to the request for repair. The car parking is along the motor way, which exposes our car to any kind of car crash (my relative's car had faced car collision from other car during the night at its parked place). Windows and roof have leakage when raining. The top floor has terrible noise while the residents walk on it (foot step BOOM...BOOM... and TIIZ... sounds). The refrigerator was not working and changed with another one within a month of our commencement to live in. Living in apartment is one of the hardest part of life in USA or any where in the world. I am a human being having a mind to judge things. Regards, Temesgen

Mr. Temesgen, We value your feedback. Your frustrations with the persistent rise in the cost of living are valid. It's disappointing to hear that you were given the impression that our office isn't responsive to resident repair requests. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary improve upon the service we provide to our valued residents. We thank you for choosing Melvin Park Apartments as your "Home". We wish you and your family all the best. Congratulations on the purchase of your new home!
