As Wisconsin’s capital and second largest city, Madison is situated in the heart if America’s Dairyland. Aside from the city’s farming history, Madison is also known for its lakeside recreation and relaxation on Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, and Lake Waubesa. Interstates 90 and 94 make commuting as easy as possible in the area, even to major metropolises like Milwaukee, located roughly 80 miles east of town on Lake Michigan.
Home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison draws in many residents for its college sports and top-notch educational opportunities. Between the Badgers basketball and hockey games at the Kohl Center to the Badgers football Games at Camp Randall Coliseum, there’s always a college game to cheer for. The university features all kinds of entertainment options, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum, a major natural attraction in the city.

Property Ratings at Mendota on Mansion Hill
I lived here for a year, and left this place as I moved to another state. I had the best experience here. The management people (Magen, Tim) are very friendly, and they are always helpful and accommodating as much as they can. The location is decent in a sense that it is walking distance away to the Capitol, James Madison Park, and State Street and you are still away enough to not get a lot of noise. The only problem I had was the off-street parking on the weekends for the first half of my stay (you may need to go to the waitlist to get an assigned parking onsite). Highly recommend this place in general. It will be my home again if I come back to Madison.
The building is sturdy and we almost never hear our neighbors through the walls/ceiling (sometimes can hear faint coughing when it's late at night and really quiet). The location is fantastic - especially with the lake/James Madison park nearby. The neighborhood in general is quiet/peaceful and nice for walking. The appliances, sinks, and toilet and shower are nice. Balcony is also great! We pay very little for utilities (may go up in the summer months when we use the AC unit). Minor complaints are that it can feel cramped at times for two people (one working from home), the bedroom in our unit is pretty small (we have the smallest unit), the water pressure could be better, and there's no AC in the bedroom.
