San Antonio blends a rich heritage with modern innovation, resulting in a metropolis teeming with true Texan heart. San Antonio’s distinctive environment reflects centuries of style and a diverse array of culture, which is best exemplified in the La Villita Historic Arts Village. The Alamo may be the most renowned structure in the city, but there are plenty of magnificent historical buildings to see—from the Emily Morgan Hotel to the Meyer Halff House.
Stretched along the San Antonio River is the famous River Walk, where residents and visitors alike can walk or bike from the San Antonio Zoo to the Witte Museum, the historic Majestic Theatre, the Shops at Rivercenter, the Missions of San Antonio and back again.
The city and the surrounding region offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Property Ratings at Merida Apartment Homes
Shown clean apartment with newer appliances cause the one I was going to be moving to wasn’t ready till date of move in and on a Friday after 4 pm. Unfortunately signed lease at this time and given key to an unclean apartment. Was told it would be cleaned before move in. Couple came in to clean but left it so dirty. Trim was filthy floors were so sticky greasy and gross. The carpet in the bedrooms were dirty black spots all over and not cleaned also leak from outside into bedroom leaving carpet soaked and smelled of wet and mildew. Windows and window seals were so dirty without screens and blinds broken. Sliding patio door didn’t open or close properly. The counters in kitchen falling apart. The fridge and stove are the oldest on property the microwave is real high no vent no glass for microwave hasn’t been cleaned I. Years . The bathtubs in both bathrooms are disgusting and the cabinets are filthy. The ac hasn’t worked since moving in. Pest control has come 1 time since living here in March. I reported leak causing carpet in room to be soaked they came 1 time made hole in the ceiling in my bedroom and another in the bathroom. This happen 3 months ago maintenance didn’t come back leaving 2 big holes now taped up cause they claim to be waiting to find leak. Only leak is not coming from upstairs it’s coming from the ac unit. You hear water dripping as long as it’s on. Don’t even work when on. The dishwasher smells so bad. I don’t use it but have to run it to get smell out. The water is shut off all the time for emergencies that occur daily. There is no cold water in shower so I don’t take showers at home. I am home 2 days out of my week. My rent is paid every first of the month using flex pay rent is broken into 2 payments totaling out to 1156 but my rent is 940 month. Plus we pay cable, pest control, garbage water which office says that’s my portion for the month. I am home about 8 days out of the month is pretty expensive for such a short period. The closets are not walk in they have doors that slide but don’t stay on track. There is no handicap parking no accommodations for the handicap or disabled residents. The sink is gross it has no drain cover you can see straight down to garbage disposal . Also 2 dumpsters on property that I’ve seen and both so far away. Also big holes throughout the parking area big enough to to cause damage to tires. Pool advertised moved in March and not been open one time. No deadbolt doesn’t feel secured. DON’T RENT HERE!!
Mgmt doesn’t respect tenants needs. Maintenance not available on weekends!
If we could this place would get zero stars, as our building has had no hot water since thanksgiving, when questioned about the issue they claim that there working on the issue. The place advertises a pool, well the pool has not worked in 2 years. If you want your car damaged this is the place to be as there are numerous potholes in the parking lot that will damage your car. Right now, code enforcement has cited the complex for numerous violations, balconies that are in need of repair, issues with parking lots, dangerous playground. Oh yeah been issues with mail theft as we been a victim of that as well, we are moving out at the end of January, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
They have constant floodings and they never come around to fix it. They always shut the water off cause there's always a problem. To many shooting here so definitely not safe for kids. Plus these wall are hallow so in the summer if it's 94 outside it's 92 in your apartment. Ac's always break down the pool is never in use. The office ne er helps with anything and they don't even answer phone calls or emails. Please save yourself the trouble.
Went for a viewing and just as the agent opened the door, roaches scattered BEWARE
I moved from Michigan to San Antonio 8/30/2020 The Staff at The Merida made the transition so comfortable for me! The Application process online is Easy! Ransom stayed with me Every Step of The Way! Laura Greeted Me on My Move In Date. We had a minor hiccup which Laura took care of to hold me over Until the Labor day weekend was over! Lisa (The Manager)! She came and made sure that My Apartment was to my liking (I LOVE IT!!!)....?????? The Office Is So Clean Sanitized and Well maintained....???? The Grounds are Clean and We'll Kept....???? I've been here for a week now and I can say It Is a Quiet and Quaint community The people are Nice everybody seems to stay to themselves but Very Nice..... I'm So HAPPY to Be a Part of The Merida Community!!!??????
DO NOT recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment. The worst part of this place is that this complex is CONSTANTLY having issues with plumbing and that means water will be shut off without notice due to their weekly water repairs. Yep, y'all read that right. At least once a week you may get up and the water will be off for repairs so if you like your morning showers like I do, make sure you take a shower in the evening because there is no guarantee you will be able to after 9am when they decide to have their famous water shut off for a day. ???? Oh yea, conveniently the boiler is OFTEN having issues to the point that all tenants will not (until it's fixed) have hot water. Can forget being able to wash your dishes appropriately and have dishes sanitized when this happens cause obviously one needs hot water to be able to sanitize the dishes accordingly. The only plus is that the Manager is really sweet and nice so if you need help she will listen.
Maintenance work still not done still waiting on things to get fixed in my apartment water always turnt off from 9:00 to 5:00 or later after 5:00
Ive been here a year .. this property management is doing a lot but I have waited the whole year to have hot water. Work orders never get done their too busy upgrading the property . I’ve never had roaches well now I do and I complained about the fridge stove and dishwasher being roach infested so that has been the problem since day one and vacant apts around me.
Too many roaches in apartment we are charged pest control fee in the rent but i had to fumigate my on my own. Management does not care.
Large Bedrooms and big closets. The pool is always nice and blue. I really like the floors.
I lived here for a year. Keep in mind that I have never complained about the other apartments I’ve had. But this apartment complex, is by far, the worse! First they charged us over 1,000 because supposedly out bank returned the rent money because we had insufficient funds, I went to office showed them proof of the money being there. They said they were going to adjust, my lease ends in September, this happened in October, they haven’t giving us out money back. Second, we get a leak in our bathroom, they came to fix that but several days later. Then, our AC broke, they did “something” it worked for a week. Now I’m spending the nights at my aunts because it’s been three days and it’s over 100 in our apartment. They seem to not care at all! Not renewing our lease, they are so bad at managing that place!
Been here almost 2 years, staff in the office is nice but Maintenance is always an issue, and they also have some kind of water issues like once a while Safty is the main concern. Earlier someone try to open our window while I am sleeping and he successful broke the window lock and tied to break in to my apartment I yell at him and he went away then I called the emergency maintenance they said its not emergency and they are coming to fix it until Monday. I cannot believe someone can break the window lock that easily, and the maintenance said this is not an emergency. what if that guy come back again before they fix it.
Water is shut regularly because individual units don't have their own water shut off. So, if your neighbor has a plumbing problem, everyone in the entire building will lose water for days. Nothing in the apartment is energy efficient. I've had to cover all my windows, as well as my fireplace with plastic to create a seal. Local maintenance replaced the weatherstripping on the doors, but that didn't work, so I ended up doing it myself. To top is off, the over -the-range kitchen fan isn't even connected to the outside vent. There IS a vent, and it goes outside. Debris, and outside air comes through it onto our pans, and into our apartment daily. The fridge is made of thin plastic, and the shelves will literally fall out (with all your groceries crashing on the floor) when you open the door (they did replace the fridge finally). After living here almost a year, I finally got a sliding screen door, but I still can't enjoy the outside air because all my neighbors are cigarette/pot smokers, and my windows are covered with plastic (no cross breeze with windows closed).
No hot water downstairs, super low pressure, leaks everywhere, pipes back up. They patch problems, not repair them. So, the same problems keep reoccurring. They've changed management but, it's kept the same maintenance team. They mark work orders complete without doing the job. I've been here 2 years. Were it not for the cost of the other apartments in the area and trying to keep my kids at the same schools, I'd have moved out the first week.
This place is so not smoke free and they wont do anything about it. Having neighbors smoking when there are children and pregnant women around. Sometimes even smpkong weed. So disgusted of this place!..
The water reviews are pretty accurate. They will shut it off randomly with no notice. So somthing they can do better about is letting resdients know that the water may or may not be shut off on a certain day due to somthing beaing worked on. ALSO .... if you have a new car beware because people will hit it with there doors and not let you know. So make sure you know who is parking next to you. I wish they had reserved parking. Another thing is there are stray cats and your car may get scratched up. Those are the reasons why i put it to 3 stars. I would change it 4 stars in general cuase they are pretty nice and affordable... the apartments are nice only if you keep it nice. One other thing is that kids are all over the place in the streets running iut in front of cars as if its a game. The leasing consultant are really nice
