Property Ratings at Meridia Metro
Bad management! Knows how to answer online but don’t care to treat people with respect. Very uncivilized stuffs! Parking lots are extremely narrow and many of them are without surveillance cameras. So you can’t claim for your damaged car. Units are defective that generate very high electricity bills with bare minimum usage. I feel bitter here since I moved here 6 months ago. Looking forward to move out soon! Horrible place!
DO NOT MOVE HERE. We have had multiple serious issues, which is bad enough, but the way the staff reacted pushed us out. One night our key fob wouldn't open our door; the door itself had to be reset. However, since it was late, the leasing office was closed AND there was no emergency phone number listed on the website. After 30 minutes of trying the door and looking for a phone number, we were finally able to get in the room, then the next day it happened again. When the staff finally realized it was the door itself, the only person who could reset it was 20+ minutes away, so we sat outside our door waiting. Another night, the fire alarm in our unit malfunctioned and went off around 5am. We put in an emergency maintenance request, but again, since there was NO emergency phone number listed on the website at the time, we couldn't do anything. When the leasing department opened at 8am, we called them, who said they would send someone down right away; a full hour later, with the alarm still ringing, no one was there. When we called back again, they said they would send someone down right away. Another 45 minutes later, after FIVE HOURS of the fire alarm going off in our unit, someone finally fixed it. Another time, the elevator slammed into me; I submitted a maintenance request explaining the situation, which was closed with no remedy. I re-opened the request, someone reached out for more details to which I responded, and then nothing. That is bad enough, and I could have made a big deal out of the fact that the property management was ignoring me, regardless of the outcome. However, during our move-out inspection, the Super Intendent of the building went to the woman doing the inspection and said, "we've had problems with these people before," and brought up the elevator incident, mocking me by throwing himself into the closet door. The parking spaces are so tight that you cannot have 2 large cars/SVUs next to each other without damaging the other car. The "gym" equipment was constantly broken or being repaired, and once I could not even get in because the door had to be reset (similar to our apartment door). The elevators are slow, poorly programmed, and the moving schedule isn't posted so the already slow elevators can be even slower when people are moving. The stairs are external, so you need to use your key fob to get back inside. However, those were the least of my issues with this terribly managed apartment complex. TL;DR - DO NOT MOVE HERE.
the worst building, they complain all the time, they don’t treat the tenant well and there is no security
I was in the bath when a leasing agent knocked on my door, since I was in the bath I didn’t answer thinking she will leave but no - WITHOUT MY PERMISSION this agent OPENED MY DOOR WITH HWR MASTER KEY and poked her head in. This is unprofessional on so many levels. Angrily, I told her I am in the bath please close the door and instead of apologizing and closing the door she asks me what my name is. Are you kidding me?! She came to ask if she could show my apartment to a possible tenant in person, AND OPENED MY DOOR WITHOUT PERMISSION after I explicitly told her no via text (a means we have been communicating through for all their requests).

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we have the right to show your apartment in attempt to re-lease the unit as stated in your lease. We always try to accommodate everyone's schedule and give proper notice before entering. Please contact the management office to discuss further.
$75 may not be a lot to some but I haven’t heard a word since I paid the $75 fee. Even if I wasn’t approved, I’d like to know. Maybe I should just dispute the charge as a scam through my bank account

Hello, Please contact the management office so this can be looked into further.
This is the worst place I have ever lived in. When I moved in the stuff they was supposed to be done before I moved in was never done. I have been here for while and the ventilation system still doesn't work. I stopped putting it orders for it. Our first month in the building we had no hot water in the bathroom and it was a hassle to get that fixed. The building is poorly built, so you can hear everything going on around you. My school-aged child and I can never get a proper nights rest due to the the two ladies that live over us stomping around until 1am every night. When it was brought to managements attention they did nothing about it. When moving in they tell people all these rules, but the rules don't apply to everyone. Management picks who the rules apply to and who is ok to break them without being penalized. Bottom line management needs training on how to manage a building and customer service. This building is NOT worth the money they are charging. Save yourself the headache and don't bother moving in. I wish I would have believed the reviews I read before I moved in.

Hello, We are sorry that you have not had a good experience. Please reach out to management if these issues have not been resolved.
Just moved in, Leasing professional was rude when I tried to speak to her regarding an issue. Did not care that I told her that her tone was unprofessional. I would not recommend this place. They need to stress the importance of professionalism, and customer service, word of mouth is powerful, when It comes to recommendations. I've read other negative reviews re the leasing professionals (this one was a female).

If so, feel free to reach me on my direct line at 732-412-6793 and I would be happy to help resolve any problems you may be having.
My wife and I moved in here back in 2016 and actually had our wedding party on the rooftop!! The rooftop here, the game room, and other amenities really attracted us to move in. It was so awesome and practical for us to have our families together in our new home (enjoying the evening views of NYC, and food that was prepared in our apartment). This building and that special day we will remember for the rest of our lives. Fast forward to now and we really appreciate the great service, attention and friendly management Elisa, Jen and Rose! Alex in maintenance and the cleaning crew are also great and keep the place looking and running well. Last but not least Peter the evening staff who tirelessly oversees the building at night; has been super nice and helpful. All in all my wife have enjoyed our time here having friends and family over for parties and good times. Finally growing up in Bergen County, this location is central to the highways, stores, restaurants, and public transportation. It really has so much to offer!

Thank you so much for your 5 star review! We are happy that you are enjoying your living experience at Meridia Metro!
This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had living in an apartment building. The unit was very appealing at first, all new appliances, hardwood floors and never used bathroom. The first few months were fine - I was commuting to the city and the bus stop was conveniently located. Let me just say that there were a lot of unfulfilled promises - front door video surveillance, an electronic package system, etc.The elevators broke down every few weeks with an email AFTER THE FACT that they were "working on it". Not to mention that the fire alarm went off CONSTANTLY at all times during the night. The ventilation system is horrible, you cannot cook in your kitchen without the fire alarm going off. The windows only go up halfway so you can't even cook with your windows open for ventilation. The blinds also are not designed to go up so, if you're fortunate to have a better view than I have, sunlight will be scarce. AND when I found a roach in my kitchen and contacted the property manager, they told me they would the terminator. Not being familiar with the process, I asked if it was safe for me to come back to my unit - the answer I got was "i don't know" but that she needed access to my unit. Since I wasn't satisfied with her answer and asked for confirmation that it would be safe before giving permission to access my unit, she started giving me a major attitude about how this is not a problem with my unit but a building safety hazard. Although ROACHES are definitely a BUILDING problem, the "i don't know but give me access" and nasty attitude was NOT working for me. I'm not surprised the building has roaches (I've overheard SEVERAL tenants talking about the problem) since the garbage in the garage is overflowing. There is a complete disregard for the tenants who live in the building - the property managers are not helpful nor do they care whether you are happy in their building. You will hear everything from people walking/running in the hallways, to arguments your neighbor has. Even though it is my understanding that the walls are concrete, they do nothing for sound insulation - you will hear everything from the units above, below and next to you. If you want a nice and peaceful living situation, this is not the place for you. IF you decide to live here, make sure to get everything in writing and that everything is clear and well-stated. Management has a way of twisting the language to their benefit. If you're a prospective resident - good luck.

From the scheduled appointment to viewing the building to moving in. I’ve had an amazing experience .. Elisa the leasing agent was impeccably amazing with her customer service. The building maintenance is to die for and the amenities are spectacular. Well maintained and well serviced. I definitely recommend this place to live and totally quiet. Such a place to call home. Keep up the good work and I look forward to My new place I call home. Signed Happy to be here

Thank you so much for your 5 star review! We truly value our tenants here at Meridia Metro.
1. There is absolutely no organized way to receive packages at this apartment. If you have a package delivered as of today there is nowhere for the delivery person to put it. Some of them have access to the building and some of them do not, as a result you will lose a package. They will tell you in leasing that they are working on a package room, which sounds great, but this has been the response for over a year. 2. If you get locked out of your apartment you will not be able to get a hold of anyone to help you for HOURS. When you call their main line, there is a recording instructing you to press 3, when you press 3 the phone disconnects. IT DISCONNECTS!! I was locked out for over 3 hours. On top of all the disheartening things residents have to put up with at this Meridia location they also must jump through hoops to get someone on the line to let them back into their apartment, wait 3 hours AND pay $150? Seriously Merdia? 3. The leasing agents may or may not be there during their scheduled operating hours. Most recently, they were changing their payment portal and pushed back the rental payment for June. As June was coming to a close I went to the leasing office to ask if the portal would be up as I was traveling to a country where I would have unreliable internet service. I get an email (3 days after the portal opened) an extremely rude and threatening email stating that if I didn't pay my rent they would begin eviction proceedings. THE VERY THING I PROACTIVELY TRIED TO AVOID. This new management company is just as terrible as the old one. 4.When I moved in I was told that there were surveillance cameras throughout the building and that residents would have access to these cameras via an app they could download on their smartphone. I moved-in about 3 months after the building opened, so basically since the beginning this feature has not worked. 5. I would say that I am a very sound sleeper. Nothing wakes me up. Except of course the regular occurrence of the fire alarm going off at ungodly hours. Most weekdays, when normal people have work the alarm will sound at 3 or 4 am and they will make no attempt to shut it off for false alarms. The walls are paper thin in the units, which also doesn’t help. When my neighbor had the flu and was coughing all night, guess who was also up all night? So, at all hours you will hear firetrucks and police officers flying down the street with sirens bellowing.

Hello, We are sorry that you didn't have a positive experience. We recently took over management of Meridia Metro and we are happy to report that many of the issues you mentioned have been resolved. We value our tenants here at Meridia Metro.
Meridia Metro initially was very appealing based on its location in hackensack as well as the overall appearance of the units and the amenities. The second elevator is always broken and takes a long period of time to be fixed. There is rarely a warning that it is broken, so you waste your time walking to the elevator only to find out it is broken. The apartments are made extremely cheap. You can hear everything outside, next door, beneath you, or above you due to the horrible construction. you can hear every single plane going into and leaving the teterboro airport from your closed windows!!! dogs live in the building which means a lot of barking at all hours. The walls mark easily and the floor has been coming up or separating. There used to be a live in super, but that changed when management changed. the bedroom is TINY..you can pretty much fit a bed and that's it, but the closet is a good size. Security is ridiculois. The package room where deliveries are placed is constantly wide open. It is located in the parking garage, so anyone in the area has access to the content inside if the doors are open. the parking garage was supposed to be gated, but that never happened... when i saw this apartment, what really caught my eye was that you would have security camera footage of common areas on your phone. The app for this has been "under maintenence" since I got here (april2016) The game room supplies are always broken!! When I want to play pool or darts, it's impossible because balls are broken and dart tips are bent! Also, they lost my WiFi username and pass code for common areas! Really??!! they spend so much time trying to fill this building up, but not even thinking about how to keep people in. Huge mistake! ooh and since they changed management, all they want is money, so you used to be able to reserve the game room for a private event at no extra charge, but now it's $50 per hour. I wouldn't recommend anyone live here. It's overpriced for what you receive. Save yourself the headache, and skip living here. can't wait to leave in a few months when my lease is up...I can put the extra money I am spending here to better use!!
