The city of Williamsburg is like stepping back in time. Well, in the historic district anyway. Founded in 1632, many of the settlement’s original structures still stand today as museums – all of Duke of Gloucester Street is a living history museum.
Because of its long-standing historical significance, tourism has a huge presence in Williamsburg. Other attractions that make up this fully-progressive city include Virginia’s oldest winery as well as a botanical garden.
The College of William and Mary, the nation’s second-oldest school, resides in Williamsburg. Its campus is in walking distance of historic sites, award-winning restaurants, taverns, and boutiques.
Williamsburg residents enjoy a plethora of conveniences, including direct access to major roadways and public transit. For those who enjoy golf, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course is minutes away from town.

Property Ratings at Merrimac Crossing Apartment Homes
Moving experience is great and the apartments are nice.
No communication whatsoever once you sign the lease. Poor communication skills from one manger and it is just terrible. Was not informed how bad the roaches are, FILTHY. Pest control is free but when have y’all ever cleaned these apartments and deep cleaned? The roaches are terrible and they say they do it every two weeks which is a joke. I would not rent here unless you can’t anywhere else. It is just disgusting and I hate it.
My wife and I couldn't be happier with our new place. Just the surrounding area makes you forget younare 10 minutes from everything. Its peaceful, and the neighbors are friendly, and the management is so on top of things its like they fix any issue before you ask. My only complaint is that I didnt move here sooner. Will V
Worst place I have ever lived in my life. Management is pretty much useless when help is needed.

These positive reviews are a joke. Idk what property they were living in cuz it definelty wasn't Merrimac Crossing. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't the office staff writing them pretending to be tenants to try to make the apartment complex sound better. I lived in Merrimac Crossing for 13 mths. It was horrible. The only good thing is the apts are good sized but that doesn't outweigh all the bad. The office staff is rude, they don't answer the phone often & don't return calls, and they close early or open late for no reason. The apts are invested with bugs, most of the maintenance sucks & they don't fix things correctly or in a timely manner. My toilet broke & it was never properly fixed & 11 of the 13 mths I lived there I had a leak in my roof. The police are always there (at least once a wk) and people are rude & loud all hrs of the day & night. I moved out in May of this yr after being forced to stay a mth longer & I still haven't received my deposit back. They won't return my calls or answer my calls.

I really like the location and the size of the apartment. Unfortunately, the management is unpredictable and inconsistant. They rent to you the first year for a reasonable rent. Then, when it's time to renew, they claim they will be charging "market' rate....but around here, the market rate changes day to day. My rent is going up $175!!! I have been a good tenant: quiet, always paid rent on time, very few calls to maintenance (because they are nice but not competent. I have had issues with my toilet for months and they just can't seem to fix it). And don't go to the manager with any issues....she'll do nothing and then get irritated with you. She has even threatened to evict people simply because they were trying to get resolution to problems! Most of my neighbors have moved because of the manager. I recommended a co-worker move here before I realized what a pain things are. She is now moving out.
Office staff don't answer the phone and don't respond to emails. Maintenance takes about three weeks to do ANYTHING. Units are big but everything in them slowly falls apart (which is a huge problem considering how terrible maintenance is). They used to be called Village of Woodshire but changed their name in order to get away from their terrible reputation. Don't be fooled - nothing's changed. It's worth the extra money to live somewhere else, even if you're tight on money.
Jesus has sent this property from the heavens for all citizens of the hampton roads areas. But forreal, the property is located in a good spot, the maintenance staff has been responding well since I moved in and the ammenities are better than any of the other properties I checked out. G-d bless you all!
I don't know what apartment complex the previous reviewers are talking about, but it isn't Merrimac Crossing! The only good thing about this place is the location! It is very centrally located, but I'll sacrifice the travel time to not have to live in this roach infested, poorly kept, apartment. The price is very tempting, but I would not advise anyone to move to these apartments!
Merrimac Crossing Apartment located near Colonial Williamsburg, provides a safe community that will meet the need of any tenants looking for luxury apartments at affordable prices. Under new management by Frontier Management I was greeted by Debbie and Sharon who are dedicated professionals in property management. All apartments have gone through remodeling and come complete with a new dish washer, new stove, new frigerator, and new central air and heating HVCU unit. I found the area to be safe with no crime to report as of this review! Debbie and Sharon are a good team that produce results for their tenants and are excellent representatives of Frontier Property Management, who by the way, are approved by the Better Business Bureau BBB. I am pleased to say that each tenant is given his/her personal key chain with Merrimac Crossing Apartments emblazoned on it, and a jar of mints saying “Welcome Home.” These apartments are renting fast…if you are looking for luxury apartments at affordable prices, dedicated professionals, safe and neighborly community, then take it from me Merrimac Crossing Apartments welcome you home. There are so many good things to say about this place. If we were not relocating due to work, I’d be here for many years more. The staff in the office are ALAWAYS there for you with a smile and concerned nature for your well-being. They really do keep the property running smoothly and the tenants happy. Sharron is about the nicest person you’ll EVER meet and Debbie keeps you in a 24/7 feeling that you are in good hands under her watch there. If ever you have a question, concern or issue… those ladies are right there to address it and the do so in a manner that makes you feel valued and that your choice in an apartment home with them was the correct one. Every now and then little maintenance issues can pop up, as is to be expected in any home, but these folks are right on it! The sun does not set on an unresolved maintenance issue at Merrimac Crossing. The place is VERY progressive. In my two years I have seen improvement after improvement. From landscaping, new pool furniture, paint, flooring, sidewalk repairs, new HVAC units… the list goes on and on. They are consistently improving on what is already very good, and that says a lot. Should you do so, you will not regret moving here. Oh, and the apartments are HUGE! Brandon M. 191-2
