Property Ratings at Messenger Place
I moved in earlier this year and I have loved living in this complex so far. Maintenance is always available and he is so friendly. I love that the people here feel like a community and the building itself is very nice and well kept.

I have lived at this property for 3 years it is very well maintained. The location is great being the heart of Old Towne Manassas, so fun things to do and the VRE super close too! Any issues I have had have been fixed immediately. I recommend this property:)

What a heartfelt review! It's clear you've found not just a place to live, but a true community here at Messenger Place. From the convenient location to the abundance of amenities and the sense of camaraderie among residents, it truly is a fantastic place to call home. It's wonderful to hear that the staff has made your experience even better with their attentive care. Thank you for sharing your positive experience, and for recommending Messenger Place to others seeking a great place to live!
Just moved in. Tiffani gave us a phenomenal tour and welcoming gift with a hand written card. Clean property with private parking. New appliances and a great view of Old Towne Manassas
This is the first place that has really felt like home. Tiffiney and ray really make this place so welcoming. The management and maintenance really go above and beyond. It’s clean and nicely renovated. They have set the bar very high when it comes to apartments.
Everyone is very welcoming!!we have locked ourselves out of the apartment 2 times once on a Saturday and the maintenance man was there in no time. Tiffany and Ray are AMAZING!!
I love the location and Ray (maintenance), but that is about it. While office staff is responsive, there is little done to remedy the real issue: shoddy building, no gym on site (driving to golds is NOT a good replacement), having to play “frogger” every day to cross the street from parking, no place to park bikes despite having space still unused, and the “trash service” that no one asked for but we have to pay for. The only reason I signed my lease for an additional 15 months was to give the housing market some time so I can hopefully purchase a place. My rent went up $200 per month after only a year living there.
First of all I just want to say that Deja is great! she was very informative about things and responsive for the most part. Unfortunately with the quality of the apartment it self i would give it a 3/5 because you can tell construction was rushed. Closet poles were falling off. You can tell the floors were popping up as well. My roommate just discovered that the blinds were being held together by card board pieces. Like I said you can tell the apartment was rushed. You get what you paid for. One other thing is that they had told us that the gym was going to be finished by winter of 2019/2020. its fall of 2020 and its still not done. I def don't think it was worth the money, even though they gave us a free membership to golds gym in Manassas, it would've been convenient having the gym in the same building. But it is what it is, there are shops and restaurants all around which was great. The VRE was very accessible as well if you work out in DC.
This place looks pretty good at first glance, but you get what you pay for. The construction on this building was clearly rushed and the management has become a joke. Closet racks fall apart, walls haven't been professionally painted, floor planks pop up...I wish I'd looked longer for a new apartment. Lesson learned. At least the other residents are nice.
It's amazing to me that this building hasn't been open even a year, and the management has been offering a month of free rent and sometimes waived fees to new move-ins. It's amazing to me because since I've moved in, I've had a host of issues, including unpainted/poorly painted walls and ceilings, faucet leaks, brackets falling (with all of my clothes on them) in EVERY SINGLE closet...I have photo proof of everything. Meanwhile, other residents have conveyed the same message to me, adding that bathroom cabinets have come unglued from the vanity, fans have fallen from the ceiling with only the electrical wiring holding them up, planks have bowed or been installed unevenly in their apartments, etc. SO WHY ARE ESTABLISHED RESIDENTS NOT GETTING A MONTH'S RENT FREE IN A BUILDING THAT HASN'T BEEN OPEN FOR EVEN A YEAR, THAT HAS SO MANY ISSUES??? Apparently the construction company who was contracted to build this complex just up and quit over some financial/contracting issues, and residents are left with shoddy, unfinished work inside their apartment homes. This is crap. Every single resident who had moved in before these little promos began should be reimbursed a full month's rent and their admin fees! If it were one, hell even two small things that have gone wrong, fine. But in a brand new building in Old Town with SO MANY issues? No-current residents are getting the short end of the stick and it's not right! This review will be posted as many places as I can post it and I will be spreading the word. The only consistently great thing about Messenger Place is the office staff.
My family moved in about 6 months ago, and we LOVE living there. Sam and Deja are always available for questions and help and are always smiling. The only thing is that the gym is still not open, which was a big selling point for us. They did offer a membership but that defeated the purpose for us since we have 2 toddlers at home.
