Denny Way meets I-5 forms the "peak" of the Denny Triangle neighborhood, while 5th Avenue extends along the southern end of the triangle. Just beyond the neighborhood sits Belltown and Pike Place Market. As Seattle's fastest-growing neighborhood, Denny Triangle features newer, modern apartment buildings, trendy shops and restaurants, theaters, bars, and more. It includes part of the outdoor shopping mall, Westlake Center, a walkable strip filled with high-end shops and boutiques. As a whole, Denny Triangle is extremely pedestrian-friendly and is considered a walker's paradise.
You won't find single-family homes in Denny Triangle -- this ultra-urban, hip neighborhood consists of apartment complexes and condos, many in high-rise buildings. This neighborhood provides several other neighborhoods within walking distance, including Downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill, Pike Place Market, Belltown, and South Lake Union.

Property Ratings at Met Tower
Lived 2 years there. Flawless. Great amanetiies. Amazing building management
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
We're thrilled to hear that you've had a positive experience living in our building for the past two years. Your kind words about our amenities and management team are greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We have lived here for 7 years and have seen a lot of changes in quality. The 2023-2024 renovations have been very frustrating (mess, noise, stenches, closed amenities for a year, delays) but those aside, the building is not being maintained. The elevators and garage door break down every other week, and the hot water goes out once a month. The maintenance and office staff are doing what they can with what they are given but building management has become desensitized to inconveniencing residents. And on top of all of that, our rent just went up 30%. For the same price, you can live in brand-new buildings within a few blocks. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

We appreciate your seven years with us and sincerely apologize for the challenges you've faced during the recent renovations. We understand the frustrations caused by the renovations and maintenance issues. We are committed to improving the living conditions at Met Tower and will be sure to pass them on to upper management. Thank your for your honest feedback.
Recently moved here in mid May’2023. Staff is very co-operative! Amenities are good, good terrace garden for walk and fresh air! Great community events which brings people together! Overall great stay so far! Lots of light! Recreational space! And many more.

We appreciate the time you took to give us such a great rating! It is truly touching to know you think so highly of us! We truly value your recommendation, and are confident we can continue to provide excellent service in the future.
I had a great experience living here! The staff is friendly and so helpful, it’s clean and safe as well! Would definitely recommend!

Thank you so much for great feedback, we are so glad to hear you enjoyed your living experience at Met Tower. We will be sure to share you review with our team! Sincerely, The Met Tower Team
If you decide to live here, don't plan to live here for more than a year since they will completely screw you in the renewal process. Also be sure and ask if the amenities will be going away or if there are any other planned changes. Only 2 months after moving in, they closed the pool, business center, and community space for almost the entire duration of our lease. They did not tell us about the planned renovations when we toured and the pool and community space were the main reasons we selected Met Tower. Management was completely unapologetic, did not give any concessions, and instead increased our rent dramatically. Now they want to increase it again while the same unit on a slightly lower floor is advertised for less than the lowest renewal rate they are offering us. There are large particles that come out of the showers, so plan to buy a few shower filtration systems and several filter replacements. Again, Management does not care about this and will tell you it's in your head despite picture proof. Package handling was great when we first moved in and that was changed (not for the better) within only a couple months as well. I believe there are far better options for a better value and more pleasant living experience in the downtown area, so my recommendation is to look elsewhere.
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We're very sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience. We hope you can give us the chance to turn your experience around. If you would, please reach out to us at mettower@avenue5apt.com and we will address you concerns.
We've now lived here for 9 months and on an almost weekly basis my work is still being disrupted by BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ for hours and hours as the renovations continue around our unit - renovations that we were told when moving in last year would be completed by the September/October timeframe. Almost six months past that date and they're still happening and have cost me money from how it has affected my ability to work with how paper thin these walls are. That's also not mentioning the night before last being one of many times maintenance people have come into our unit after midnight, sometimes while we're asleep. These are not the kind of conditions people should live in when paying $3000 per month. I understand construction can take (much, apparently) longer than originally anticipated but we're now looking to move and they're not willing to let us out of the lease even a month and a half early as a gesture to make up for the issues or anything... With how many new apartments there are being constructed in the area you'd be much better off elsewhere, others will almost assuredly be more caring and honest and give you a more peaceful living experience.
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
Hi Stephen, We're sorry to hear that Met Tower hasn't lived up to your expectations. The common area renovation was completed back in September but we do still have some homes that are being renovated. We've done our best to email residents when specific apartment homes are being renovated and ha ve started to put out notices ahead of time to the surrounding homes so that it isn't a surprise if there is noise for people who work from home. We have received good feedback since doing this. It was nice to hear you mention in the office that you have enjoyed the sauna and pool since completion. Please also note that if there is a fire or flood type emergency we do have the responsibility to make sure your home is safe and not affected. In the rare case of one of those events we do want to ensure that your personal belongings aren't damaged. We will of course knock several times before entry. Thanks for being a resident at Met Tower. -Met Tower Team
I am definitely moving out when the lease is up this year. I lived here two years. Although the location is great, that is the main reason stayed for two years. The overall low rating is for the apt management. They lost my $950 package and refuse to be responsible for it. The vendor refuse to refund since their mail tracking shows the delivery was made to the apt. The apt's mail system video shows the staff took it out of the mail box, but not able to locate them. After waiting two months, the manager showed me the lease contract clause, says that they are not responsible for mails, and asked me to have delivery made some where else if not happy. Also, the apt recently renovated to worse. They took the kitchen out of the resident's lounge, and cannot host any meal together anymore; the lounge fireplace is stayed broken all winter, and the remote is kept at the manager's office, not usable at all when you want it on when having guests. I am leaving. Not a community oriented place, that is why you never see anyone mingling, very lonely place...
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
Hi Julia, We want to again apologize that we weren't able to help confirm the location of your package for you. Our new Luxer package system has worked well and due to the large volume of packages we receive on a daily basis we are looking at adding additional package space in the near future. Last night was our monthly Wine Down Wednesday and over 60 residents were in attendance from 5-7pm in our lobby. If you didn't catch this one, the next one will be on April 4th as well as a special St Patrick's Day tasting so please join us for those. We have enjoyed having you here at Met and hope that you decide to stay at the end of your lease. Sincerely, Met Tower Team
There are many reasons why my husband and I decided to leave Metropolitan tower. Despite repeated attempts to engage management in these issues, no action was taken and, ultimately, our concerns as tenants were ignored. I hope management can solve these concerns, as it has been an overall disappointing experience to live here. Shortly after extending our lease, construction and renovations began on the building. At no point did administration inform the tenants of the impending construction (although they still raised rent by ~20%), nor was there an open forum for residents to discuss their concerns openly with management. Since we have moved into Metropolitan tower, there have been security concerns. The door to the elevator lobby never properly closed . This was an ongoing issue for months and was only recently resolved. However, this was not the largest security issue. The door from the lobby was propped open to anyone that enters the lobby during construction. This would have been less of an issue if there had been 24/7 security or concierge engaging those entering the building; however, that was also rare. The 8th floor outside space turned into a mud pit and became an overall unappealing space. Another issues is the dog run. When it is dark there is no lighting in this section of the building, leading to many dog-owners not picking up after their pets. According to our apartment-networking site, this has been an issue since before we moved in. Packages have also been an issue since the construction/new management began. We had several occurrences of not getting notifications of packages, losing packages, or receiving damaged/spoiled packages. Additionally, when they installed the new package system – it caught on fire. There were several instances where our food deliveries spoiled like some previous deliveries. We asked why there wasn’t a notification concerning the package and the response provided was “there is no room in the lockers.” The management team spent all this money updating the package system, and there is not enough room to accommodate the tenants of the building. This is not the first-time this has occurred, and it is unacceptable. Not everything about Metropolitan tower was negative; in fact most of our early experiences were pretty good. However, overall it is clear to me that current management (Greystar) does not act on resident feedback. I will not put my money where I do not have a voice.
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to voice your concerns regarding the community. While we obviously prefer hearing positive reviews, we also welcome constructive criticism as it allows us to better understand areas in which we can improve and create change like you mentioned . I am very sorry that your experience at Met Tower has not been the positive experience both of us would have liked. I would like to mention that all of the items you have mentioned are on our radar and either have been addressed or we are in the process of addressing. If you would like to stop by the leasing office I would be more than happy to discuss some of these items with you and the solutions we are working towards. Please feel free to contact me directly at - MetropolitanTowerMgr@greystar.com or 206.256.0500. I look forward to hearing from you.
I moved into Metropolitan Tower last year upon relocating to Seattle, and can honestly say the experience has been horrible since I moved in. My first complaint is that the walls in this complex are paper thin. I can't tell you how many times I've walked down the hallways and overhead my neighbors discussions that they were having in their private apartments. If you value being able to have a private discussion in your own apartment without whispering or worrying about being overheard, this apartment is probably not for you. Also, be prepared to watch TV or play video games on mute here, as even minimal sound travels easily between walls. I've never lived in an apartment complex before with as horrible of sound insulation quality as you will run into at Metropolitan Tower. My second complaint is that the Metropolitan Tower staff is incredibly rude and hostile. I had a pleasant experience with the staff at first before signing a 12-month lease, but that immediately changed once I moved in. Now, every experience since has been a negative one. They're rude, arrogant, make false claims, and couldn't care less about customer service. It should also be noted that their parent company has an F rating by the BBB. My third complaint is that there seems to be never-ending construction going on at Metropolitan Tower. The construction crews are noisy, block off paths to your apartment, and repeatedly set off fire alarms. When I moved in, we had a nice communal area, a pool, and a 24/7 gym. That has since changed, as the communal area and pool have been permanently closed, and the gym is closed for 12 hours a day. You would think that they would offer us tenants a discount for this constant construction that has removed our amenities, right? Of course not, as did I mention the F rating? Upon going to the Metropolitan Tower staff to voice my annoyance with them and request an early termination, the staff rejected my request and instead offered me advice of (and I quote), "Just suffer through it for a couple more months until your lease is over, and then you can leave". Even though it's a little too late for me, and I just need to suffer here for a couple more months per the request of Metropolitan Tower staff, I hope you can learn from my experience. There are so many other better apartment complexes to choose from in Seattle. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't choose Metropolitan Tower. Live somewhere else where you'll be happy.
Property Manager at Met Tower, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback, Kyle. As we've discussed, noise transference can be an issue with high-rise apartment living. We've had very infrequent complaints about noise transfer from apartment to apartment but do need to act on these complaints as we get them. We do our best to ensure a pleasant living experience for the community and we have rules in place to benefit the quality of life for all our residents. We apologize if you felt that you were treated unfairly by Met Tower staff. We value you as a resident and, as communicated previously, would welcome you to come speak to me at your convenience. We want the rest of your stay to be a pleasant experience for you. Best, Libby Sill, Community Manager
