Granite City is a large suburban community positioned northeast of Saint Louis on the east bank of the Mississippi River and west of Horseshoe Lake. With a rich history as a thriving industrial town, the city is full of beautifully preserved architecture — the Wilson Park area is known for its Gilded Age homes. The downtown district also serves as a popular hangout for Granite City residents, with its vintage buildings hosting offices, a movie theater, cafes, specialty shops, roller skating rink, and locally-owned storefront businesses. Granite City is also home to a thriving arts scene. In fact, Granite City created the official Arts & Entertainment District in the downtown area, along with incentive programs to help support local artists, creating a growing reputation of impressive talent.
Just up the river, numerous nature preserves provide great opportunities to spend quality time outdoors. There are also excellent neighborhood parks throughout town.

Property Ratings at Metro Apartments at Granite City
As tenants during Covid we were given the option to break our lease with a fee of $1200 and of course whatever last bill was for water, sewer, trash. Of course that was reasonable, seeing how I had to pay to move and not having income at the time. I expressed my hardships and was informed that more than likely the account will go to their law office and the amount could be handled that way; I was okay with that. Time goes on and I get a call from their law office. The amount given via email was a totally different amount. I was given a ledger of $2600 in damages which is completely false. Because at my time of move and before, Metro Apartments did not have property management present in office. Tenants could reach someone via phone and email however management was not physically present at property. Due to this I did my due diligence and recorded a walk thru video on my iPhone to show how I left my unit. At this point I am going back and forth with Mr. Chin, their attorney. I sent the video along with emails stating the $1200 break lease fee and was given the run around for a year! He even questions the video. Not only was my face in this walk thru video from me turn the camera around, but I also had to screen shoot the video to show the time, date, and location. Continued to give me the run around. Instead of suing me for the funds which I wanted because I had my "proof", the account was sent to collections. If I honestly owed these people $3800 dollars and they claim that I owe these funds for property damages and 1 month rent (I moved on within the time I was granted which was the 3rd) WHY NOT SUE ME FOR WHAT YOU SAY THAT I OWE? I even have an email from Cynthia Mikulait stating that the amount was sent in error soon after that statement was retracked. I tried dealing with the collection company as well but of course those conversations become hostile once I gave my proof on the false claim of property damages and 1 month owed rent. One month owed rent but I disconnected all utilizes. . . . . . okay. I did get a lawyer but that was a waste of time, money, and energy. Overall, DO NOT MOVE HERE. Save yourself the headache, these people are dishonest, and I am trying to save you from the hardship. And yes, this is on my credit. I have recently reached out email and phone, no response, nothing. Hopefully this will go someone attention. And if you would like to see this information, I will be happy to email it to you.
I love it here it’s so peaceful and quiet management and staff are so nice and welcoming I’m new to living on my own and they made it nothing short of welcoming and it’s highly affordable

Thank you for choosing to make your home in the Metro Community. It is resident like you that make this community a great place to live. We hope we can continue to welcome you for many year to come.
Recently moved in. There were a few hiccups moving in. Management was fast and courteous to correct all. Apartment is accommodating and well put together for the most part. The community is quiet and respectful from what I can tell. Great value and great location. Feeling fortunate to have found this community. Recommend :)
The apartments have way more room than I thought. Downsides are no in-person tours so it was hard to judge the place until after I had signed and only one dumpster to cover 3 buildings worth of trash. But other than that my experience at the office was great and they are very responsive.
They constantly add extra charges and when you try to speak with someone about them they give you a run around. The old property manager was very nice and never had a issue with speaking to you about anything. But now you can’t even speak with anyone. I don’t recommend to anyone. They’re very nice based off of looks but they’re built very poorly.
The renovation at the metro apartments are great, housing here has been really nice. The manager is definitely not playing with payments but I can respect it overall Metro is home.
Management has been very helpful with my rental payments
On move in day, I walked into a house full of natural gas. After contacting management and waiting a week, the gas leak was said to be fixed. I tried to move back in, only to find the gas was still leaking into the apartment. This time, a water leak was also discovered coming from the ceiling. The water leak was fixed, but in an attempt to fix the gas leak, my stove was removed. I have not had a stove for at least 2 months. As a result of these issues, I have been bumbing it at someone els's apartment 30 minutes away. When i returned about a week ago to find out the status of the apartment, I found that there are some sort of bug eggs all over the floor despite the fact i have had no food in the apartment yet. Very regretful in choosing metro in granite.
I been here going on 2 years past management sucked!!! Now it seems to be headed in the right direction. I was late a few times this manager now NOT PLAYING AROUND don't be late and don't nothing that lease doesn't say lol. I had a lil problem at first because I was late he demanded I come to the office sat me down told me how important the roof is over my kids etc. It made all the sense in the world but prior to coming I would not answer calls from him or door he stayed coming round the property. Now I see where his passion is I am very content long as I know he is here. Baby HE KNOW THAT LEASE PERIOD LOL this is not a bad place now. Dont like the cable.
Wow the new owners and management have really turned this place around! What a great place to call home.
Thanks to Cedric, I have a amazing place to stay and it was fast and he work with me every step it took
It was excellent because we got to move in on time and the Apartment looked amazing. Also, Cedric greeted us kindly and handled everything well.
I love living at metro apartments, it’s a great place to live. The new manager has zero tolerance about late rent and he informs me of the importance of paying my rent on time and I respect that more, he has a very different approach. He made sure my maintenance request get done and can’t ask for more.
I moved in a year ago and I love it here the rent went up but it’s a new unit I was late on my rent THE MANAGER DOESN’T play late rent. So I am and have been on time. I had a delay in maintenance called him he got it taken care of so I am happy about that. I referred my cousin he’s happy too.
Nice and clean living area…Cedric was an excellent help
They don't fix anything they don't buy new parts my air went out twice in less then two months an they won't do anything about it the manager is rude as can be don't move in this place!!!!
I have live here for 10 months and planning on moving very soon. I am probably break my lease this month even though it is up next month. The staff is rude and a lot of people having problems with the staff and the apartment. They take forever to fix anything. The first day we moved in the floor was coming up and they still haven't fixed it. There were many problems when we moved in and they haven't fixed anything. This is cheap but it is not worth the money.
The apartment itself is nice. Plenty of space, lots of storage room, clean, and everything was in working order. It did take two extra weeks for them to prepare our place, which was inconvenient, and it is nearly impossible to get ahold of them on the phone. Nice apartment all together but don't expect things to be done fast. Everything they do takes awhile.
