Property Ratings at Metro at Fireclay
The rent raises every year and the property gets worse. The pool was closed all last summer, so if you’re wanting pool access this is not the place. The spa alone closes at least once a month for weeks at a time. You pay for secure parking with gates(50-75 extra a month) These gates have been broken over a year, allowing anyone to access the community. The elevator has also been broken for over 6 months. This is extremely inconvenient if you live above the second floor. The grounds are covered in dog urine poop. Whether inside or outside you smell it. The contractors did a very poor job as there’s cracks in the infrastructure (inside the apartment) as well as minor things like appliances and lights being off center, Kitchen islands not being fully attached/secured together, the kitchen is on a slant. Maintenance does respond pretty quickly as a bonus, but the office can be rather difficult to get a response from. I would also HIGHLY recommend reading the lease in full before signing. You’ll be told by the office multiple things that contradict the lease, and at the end of the day, GREYSTAR will hold you to the lease, despite what you’re told by their employees.

The maintenance team at Metro is A1??. They are always super quick to fix and very personable. They always say hi in passing and know my dogs names. Best crew around.

The apartments themselves are fine, but the pool was down pretty much all year, if there's a power surge, the security system resets and your key cards won't let you in. And the parking gate has been broken since January

My husband and I have lived here for 3 years and every year the management gets worse. In the past 2 years, we have been over charged for rent 3-4 times and OUR MOST RECENT OVERCHARGE WAS $350. They do not give an option of reimbursement even though they frequently make mistakes on rent charges. They will give you this line every time: "our payments are done through a 3rd party so we can not reimburse you". The best they can do is a credit on our account but our most recent overcharge was $350. Even as a credit, that is $350 out of our pockets for this month due to their mistakes and negligence. They sent us an incorrect link to renew our lease agreement for 3 months. Even after multiple emails and office visits from my husband and I to fix their mistake, they didn't send us the correct link to renew our lease till the very last day possible (after 2pm when we were both at work). This was convenient for them because AGAIN they were able to overcharge us. The pool was restricted ALL summer due to "a broken tile", the parking lot gates have been broken for over 3 months (we pay for this security amenity), and they frequently overcharge. I promise there are better options for you elsewhere. This will be my husband and I's last year here. Unfortunately, we have stayed for 3 years because we work very close in the Murray community. I have never been so disgusted by the lack or professionalism or care from an apartment management team.

Metro is affordable for the market currently and with good access to public transit. It, however, doesn't really stand out from any of the other new apartment complexes in the city. Nothing wrong with it, nothing particularly special either.

Metro at Fireclay is a great place to live, the apartments are of a 2018 design and have updated appliances in them. Though a bit pricey, I would recommend them to friends. Staff is very nice but are very busy so you wait for responses when it comes to emails and phone calls but are more than accommodating in person to help you in anyway. Maintenance is out of this world and they try to be on top of things before they happen. Things are fixed usually same day.

Great central location. Can be downtown or to the airport in 10 minutes. Be prepared for huge rent increases upon lease renewal. New, nicely appointed apartments. Downsides are the windows don't open, no ceiling fans, and no garbage disposals. Expect $300 in fees added to rent each month. Lots of pets in the buildings which is fine, just the pet owners are very careless, and sloppy and do not clean up after them.

I have noticed a drop in customer satisfaction, maintenance services taking more than one visit to solve little issues/wrong work orders, and not enough cleaning. The management personnel are still great and friendly.

When I first moved into my apartment, there were many issues with the apartment that needed to be immediately fixed. When I put in a work order, it wasnt worked on for a week until I bumped into a maintenance guy in the hallway and told him about it. He said he thought everything was fixed. Several things are still not fixed. Only a week in, Im getting constant annoying emails from the management company, Greystar, saying that I dont have renters insurance, even though I do. My upstairs neighbors are EXTREMELY loud, and when I try to call the courtesy patrol number, it goes straight to voicemail. When asked about this, the front staff pretends to be dumbfounded. Peoples packages are constantly stollen from their doorstep. People dont pick up after their pets. I could go on.

It's been good living here, but we have issues every time our lease comes up for renewal because the information isn't updated. Maintenance crew responds on time for requests or problems. Leasing staff is great but needs to check the phones for messages more often.

Metro on the outside looks like a "luxury" apartment but when living here, building 2 is unfinished and unkept. There is only 3 people working in the office at a time (it seems) managing 2 six-floor building's of residents. The ratio is way off. When you are toured your expectations will be set with the idea of building 1. if you lease an ADA unit you won't be notified that it is one. Although there are 3 people managing these buildings, they try their best and work to the best of their ability. The problem lies within higher up of Greystar.

New apartment complex with great interior. The maintenance staff does a good job, and the office staff is polite and friendly. I love the interior of my apartment with new appliances. The color scheme is great, and provides a modern look. The 1 bedroom has a ton of space as well.

This past year I downsized from a home into apartment living. The maintenance guys have been so amazing here and made the transition easy! Any issues I've had, have been resolved very quickly. Most of the residents here are super friendly! There have been a couple that seemed sketchy.... it was reported and they are no longer here. They have a lot of amenities and fun activities with prizes like gift cards and discounts on rent. I'm learning that not all renters care about where they live... which is disappointing, but that is not exclusive to Metro. It happens wherever there are renters. The difference here is that they really do care. As soon as they get wind of problems, they get on top of it and do all they can to address it. I have really enjoyed my time here, so far, and would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Do not live here. The management is slow to respond to every issue. Your car will likely be broken into. Your neighbors will stink. Your neighbors will be loud. There was a shooting less than 100 ft away from the building last month. One positive: fast wifi

The local office is great. The maintenance people do great work. Unfortunately, they are spread thin trying to deliver a corporate promise that corporate does not give resources for. I have reached out to get cameras in the garage that are a high enough quality to read license plates because there have been several thefts. No one has bothered to address this request. I have since spent hundreds of dollars in dash cams to protect my car in the "secure" parking garage. I will be installing a Blink camera on my porch to cover the garage so that I can ensure the building because the area office will not provide a decent camera. Residents need to be more vocal about holding others accountable for cleaning up after themselves.

Ive lived at Metro for a little over a year now and I just signed another year lease! I absolutely love living here. The office and maintenance staff have always been helpful beyond expectations, wide variety of amenities, pet friendly, the property is kept clean. The office always has fun games and incentives (like portable speakers, apartment decor, credit towards rent, etc.) that make the residents feel valued and appreciated. I highly recommend living at Metro, you wont regret it!

These apartment buildings seem like they should be nice but Metro at Fireclay is in a high crime area. This would be manageable if the management cared about creating a safe environment for the residents, but it’s clear they do not. First of all, you only need a key fob to access the very outer doors (once you’re inside those you have access to the entire building) and these doors are often left ajar or open allowing people to come and go without fobs. Every other apartment building I’ve lived in thats branded themselves as “luxury” you need to use your key fob to access the stairwell, elevators, and each floors. On top of that they do not even have cameras in areas like the stairwells or elevators, so really anyone could be accessing these without a trace. They also have far too few cameras in the halls and especially the garages, the management will say they have “some” cameras in the garages but even after constant car break ins they have not added any addition ones. To top it all off, in Nov 2020 there was a full scale police raid in an apartment in phase one of Metro at Fireclay (over 15 cops, officers with rifles and riot shields, under cover officers and multiple unmarked vans etc.). What an unsafe place to live!

My experience with metro has been phenomenal. Out of the apartments I have lived in never have I had the customer service quality that I have been given. The leasing agents truly care about setting up the tenants with the best experience possible, and it definitely shows through how they approach each and every situation. The property itself is a newer property, which is great for the implemented modern style. With the amenities and pool space available for use, my only wonder is why it took so long to find a place like this in Utah.

I have been here for almost 1.10 years now and I have seen management change. I could see the difference between the pros and cons of both sides. The new management has given a good platform for the residents to communicate more. The only issue is SECURITY. You cannot compromise on that! My car window got broken after two others so I think it's a pattern here and not just a single time mistake.

Metro at Fireclay seems like a promising place to live, unfortunately the management is the worst I have ever dealt with. They completely lack communications skills and an understanding of how to run a profession building. Cars are currently being broken into on a weekly basis, even in our expensive garage and underground parking lots and management has done the absolute bare minimum. Can't even be bothered to install more cameras. The trash in common areas is always overflowing, the floors in the elevators are always visibly disgusting (I've gotten on with puddles of pee before gross), and their amenity rooms like the gym are never cleaned and always out of cleaning supplies. Such a disappointment.

Just tired of being manipulated by the management staff. I guess maybe that's just the standard agreement from the old days but I want to not deal with that. Also the community, like the actual people, have a large enough proportion of people who don't care about their community, so they trash things and aren't respectful of others. And those rules are never enforced, so they just keep doing it. So it all gets very exhausting. Just a bad vibe going on over there. Too bad the old owner wanted their cash out. They were at least respectable. The new one is disgusting.

I really do not like these apartments at all. I have been here for a year and have no idea what all the extra fees are for. The appliances are terrible, the AC is always breaking down, and you will pay to share the water bill with your neighbors. You will walk into the office and no one is there. It is dark outside and you will see homeless people hanging out in the parking lot. And the visitor parking is horrible. It was like they took away our parking lot and now visitors have no option but to park really far from our apartment. I recommend not paying attention to the emails from Jennie and the office staff. They are not helpful at all and you wonder why they need to email you. The maintenance people here are lazy. They don't fix anything for over a week. It seems like every time something is broken they don’t come fix it. They hire pretty much anyone out there. And if you call the office to let them know a problem they will not answer. If you are looking for an apartment maybe just look elsewhere. This is NOT the place to be.

Living at Metro. It is NOT safe or clean. The cameras do not work and people constantly speed through the parking lot. Staff does nothing. stay far away from this place. Staff is nasty and they do not use good customer service. Bottom line, can't wait to move. Will be moving out ASAP. WARNING!! Not worth the money!!! Can't wait to move!

The place is beautiful (minus the 5th floor, painted mustard yellow), Amenities are definitely there, TRAX Passes, etc. Just good luck talking with anyone in the office to actually move in.
