From white-water rafting on the Cheat River to rock climbing at Coopers Rock to shopping for antiques, there's good reason Morgantown is the most popular destination in West Virginia -- add in West Virginia University and the reasons just become more impressive. Morgantown, situated along the Monongahela River, provides stunning views of the Appalachian Mountains -- especially from vantage points like Dorsey Knob. This park covers 71 acres, and the mountain is 1,398 feet high.
Considered a top-ranking research university, WVU was established in 1867 and features several buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Residents of Morgantown can visit the university's Core Arboretum, which is free and open to the public. Residents can also cheer on the West Virginia Mountaineers at various sports events. The Mountaineers compete in NCAA Division I as part of the Big 12 Conference.

Property Ratings at Metro Towers
Rooms are ok...know now there are better options for the money in Morgantown...look around. Staff never provided key to mail box after several requests. We left room cleaner than we found it...even fixing a few issues and they still kept security deposit. Do yourself a favor...look somewhere else.
Metro owns many buildings. Some are newer and nice. Others dated. I have rented with then simply because I was unble to find better options. Never because I wanted them to be my landlord. I feel sad ever time I sent a check knowing I was helping them. Be prepared to be nickled and dimed. Everything from paying online to being electronically locked out due to their negligence will cost you. A simple letter crossed out on the lease due to them making a error will require you to come back to the office. This will be trying after the fifth try due to their incompetence. You will never see your security deposit. Forget it. You will be required to sign forms with the lease making it harder to sue. Waving several rights. Not that I was thinking about sueing, but a terrible sign from a landlord. Find another option if possible.
Good: There is always a place to park your vehicle. The complex is within walking distance to downtown, Evansdale, and the Monongahala River trail. Utilities (other than internet) are included in rent. The property management office is on-site; office staff are helpful and pleasant to interact with. Apartments come furnished (with one exception - curtain rod). Response to utility requests are pretty quick. In the apartment, as well as around the complex, it is nicely quiet. Overall quality of the units is good. Bad: Your apartment must be spotless/in better condition than when you moved in to avoid being charged. For example, the refund on my security deposit included deductions for "dust on blinds" and "walking patterns in the carpet". The smell of neighbors smoking is often very strong in the halls. There are very few guest spots in an otherwise very large parking lot. You'll need to buy your own shower curtain rod.
