Property Ratings at MetroMark
They don't give back deposit on time. Need multiple follow-up! Everytime they tell some reason and never called me back once / gave an update on where my deposit is.

Honestly, the sad part is originally I would have given this place a better review. But with the circumstances as they are, I'm fairly upset with the apartment complex currently and if I had known two years ago this would have been where I was at, I probably would have gone with a different complex. First and foremost, if you intend on having any unexpected life changes I would suggest a different complex. MetroMark makes you sign a 90 (NINETY) Day Lease Break agreement, and I fairly certain when you are breaking a lease you generally do not know THREE months ahead of time that you are breaking this lease. In my case it is that I was offered a job on the west coast. Secondly, they also do not allow subletting. So even if you find a suitable person to take over your lease, they won't allow it. You also are not allowed to add a roommate until your lease is over - so couples looking to potentially move in together please be aware of this. Lastly, they will not work with you on the renewal amounts. This renewal cycle they wanted to raise my rent $450 - and while the potential new renter I had in line was willing to sign the renewal if they met him halfway, I was told that the amounts were as they stand. Yes, it is a pet friendly community, but most people don't pick up after their dogs (I am a dog owner and while I appreciate the available dog bags people rarely use them). Do with this review what you will, but please make sure you take a look at your leases before you sign them - especially since this place has shown they're just in it for the money grab. Ask for a lease example for any place you apply to and make sure the terms fit what you are looking for, because frankly if the last three years have taught us anything, you never know what life throws you and I suggest finding a more sympathetic apartment complex.

Thank you for reaching out, Catherine. It is our goal to provide residents with a great living experience and we'd appreciate the chance to improve your stay. When you have a moment, please stop by the office to go over your concerns in more detail. We are more than happy to speak with you and clear up any confusion in regard to the rules and lease agreement. We hope to hear from you soon.
While the included amenities are nice, and the location makes for an easy commute to the downtown area, it doesn't justify the price. They continue to raise rent prices without including anything else to make it worthwhile. Noisy neighbors as well - not to mention the continued smell of marijuana in the hallways in this supposedly 'smoke-free' property. Don't recommend.

We have tried to reach the property via apartments.com, their website and via a phone call and received no response at all. One of our friends live there and appriate the property. Given the service level, I would not recommend it.

We can assure you that once we are able to reach your messages, we will be in touch! We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to connect with you soon!
I lived in MM for 3 years and am very torn between my experience here. Overall, any good experiences i did have are far outweighed by the bad. Pros: apartments are nice, appliances work well, common spaces and gym are nice to have. Located close to FH for easy commuting. In a nice location of JP ("up and coming"), and close to great food and downtown JP. Cons: - not a smoke free community as advertised. many residents smoke in their apartment, on the balcony and in the common areas. I first lived in a street level apt in building B for two years. Eventually had to move out to a third floor apartment because residents were constantly smoking outside the window. I could never open my windows. Moving to the 3rd floor did not solve the problem as many residents smoke on their balconies and in the courtyard. I addressed this with management multiple times (over email, face-to-face conversations), and was always assured it would be addressed. Then I would see the same residents smoking on their balcony. MM should not advertise themselves as a smoke free community without being more strict on their policy. - mess dog owners! As a dog owner myself, I understand that dogs have to pee and poop. However, we had multiple issues with finding dog poop/pee in the stairway or elevator. Some entrances we stopped using because of the smell of urine. The biggest issue we had was our upstairs neighbor letting their dog pee on their balcony, which would leak down to ours. Again, addressed this directly with management, and the situation never got better. - Management has gone down hill over last three years. While we lived there, we saw 4 different property managers come in. The current management is unprofessional, unresponsive, and will say they are addressing things that never actually get addressed. We had multiple issues with property manager right at the end of our time at MM with emailing or calling us back, or missing phone appointments we had set up with him. Overall, the apartments not built well enough to justify the price, and don't have a responsive enough management to justify the price. Expect to smell constant smoke fumes, dog pee (maybe even have to clean it up off your porch), hear the train, overpay for parking and living, and then when you decide it's an issue, don't expect management to be compromising or do anything to resolve it. Would not recommend living here.

Please reach out to us at esoto@corcoranmgmt.com at your earliest convenience.
While the gym is nice, the other amenities don't justify the price in the area. The rooftop deck provided unremarkable views (of trains, a bus lot, and construction), and is not open year-round. The apartments look nice, but are not made with exceptionally sturdy or high quality materials. The complex is located next to Forest Hills, and the infrastructure doesn't properly block noise. Additionally, early morning fire alarms were frequent. My partner and I found it very difficult to sleep as a result, and were unhappy with the management's response. We found the upper level management (building manager, and VP of the management company) to be very rude and condescending. While the staff does host events, there's no real sense of community. Most of the events were for pet-owners and residents with children. I have not met one resident who is eager to renew their lease one it ends. If you can sleep through multiple buses departing at 4:30 am, I'd recommend this complex. Otherwise, there are plenty more sensible residences in the area that provide a better bang for your buck.
As someone who has lived in many Boston apartments, I had very high expectations when I decided to sell my condo and look for an apartment to rent closer to where I worked earlier this year. After stumbling upon a MetroMark listing while it was still under construction, I was immediately impressed with its convenient location and all the amenities it was going to include. As a resident for over 3 months now, I can honestly say that I made the right decision in choosing to move here over all of the other places I considered in the area. There's nothing like living in a brand new space that is super clean with all new appliances, high ceilings, huge windows, and modern touches everywhere (also LEED certified, by the way). The management staff is unbelievably attentive, responsive, and accommodating to all of the residents, which makes living here even better. Kelli, Razi, Mike, and Sean always have a smile on their faces and they go out of their way to make sure that everyone who lives in the building is taken care of and made to feel like family. They also frequently organize events like cookouts, fashion shows, athletic events, cocktail hours, and local business meet and greets to bring the residents together and help foster a community within the building. The common areas are always impeccably clean and the building is extremely quiet, which was very important to me as someone who has to get up early for work during the week. If you are looking for a new, conveniently located, professionally managed, stress-free apartment in JP, then look no further. Come and make MetroMark your new home.
