Middleton is a small, wooded city bordering Lake Mendota, roughly four miles northwest of Madison. This beautiful city often makes "best" lists, including Money Magazine's list of the nation's best small cities to live in.
This friendly city (the motto is the "Good Neighbor City," after all) provides ample park space, including the lakeside Marshall Park, which features a beach area, a boat launch, fishing areas, and a playground. Nearby Lakeview Park features a lake, a splash pad, a playground, picnic areas, and walking trails. The city-owned Pleasant View Golf Course is located on a hill with panoramic views of the Madison skyline. During the winter months, it becomes a cross-country ski park.
While Middleton is a smaller city than the neighboring capital, you won't get bored after moving to a Middleton apartment. This city features a great downtown shopping district, roughly 80 restaurants, and a free trolley.

Property Ratings at Middleton Ridge Apartments
I lived at Middleton Ridge for 3.5 years starting in 2021, the complex was excellent. I never had any issues with rowdy neighbors or noises, the on site team were a pleasure to deal with and the property was very well maintained. The only slight negative in my view is that the kitchen/bathrooms could use an upgrade but other than that I’d recommend this apartment complex without hesitation.
Although I only lived here for a short while, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Emily, the project manager, is very on top of things, responds very quickly and overall great at her job. I don't think a maintenance request ever took over 24 hours to complete. The location is amazing as it is right on the outskirts of Middleton, but you are only a few minutes away from Downtown Middleton and all the restaurants. I have nothing but good things to say about Middleton Ridge and would definitely recommend living here.
I'm in my 2nd lease year and I have never been happier as an apartment renter. Emily, the apartment manager, is phenomenal. Super responsive and always on top of things. Logan, the maintenance guy, is super sweet and willing to show how the simple things like the dishwasher spinny thingy go back in so I can re-set it myself. I cannot recommend the property enough!
We have lived here for about 2 years now and have loved every second of it. A quiet area but only minutes away from downtown Middleton. I could not recommend this place enough!
I lived here for 3 years and only left because of relocating for work. One of the best renting experiences I have had, absolutely loved my studio - it was the most spacious studio unit I’ve come across and an incredible value for such affordable rent! Emily, the property manager, is so attentive and helpful and Greg, the head of maintenance, was always so accommodating and friendly to my cat. This is a very pet friendly building, kept extremely clean, and located in a great neighborhood that is typically very quiet with lots of great places to walk/bike/run. Highly recommend living here and will miss my apartment so much!
I've lived here over 3 years and moved only to be closer to work. My 2 BR, 2 Bath, 3rd floor was spacious, quiet, convenient and beautiful. The gas corner fireplace was loved on chilly evenings. Management is responsive and pleasant. All concerns are takrn seriously and handled without delay. Manager Emily keeps residents informed of happenings and is filled with advice of all sorts as I moved in and out. I'm not a pool person, but she arranged an aqua zoomba class that was fun and entertaining. She tries to provide occasional social events (crafts, etc) that brings people together in the community room if they choose to enjoy the fellowship. Maintenance person Greg was helpful always. A buddy to my dog, friendly and responsive to all building and resident needs. I highly recommend the total Middleton Ridge experience!
The apartment walls are extremely thin. I can hear every phone call conversation my neighbor has. The ceilings are even worse. I know my upstairs neighbors location at all times and can hear her using the bathroom. I like the country area feel, but the noise drives me nuts.
I just moved to Madison from across the country. I rented my apartment blind because I didn't have time to come out ahead of time, and Emily (the manager) was SO helpful. She provided pictures and answered all of my questions within only an hour or two of me e-mailing her- even on the weekends. The apartment is nicer than the pictures: tall ceilings, good washer/dryer, AWESOME central air, pet friendly but quiet. I also got an apartment with included underground parking (which I couldn't find anywhere else in Madison) and there is no pet fee/rent!? This place is a gem.
Moving away from this beautiful apartment complex at the end of August. 780 square foot apartment on the second floor of wonderful Middleton Ridge apartment complex. Cat friendly and in a great location for parks and trails right near by. Been here for over a year and a half and love it, but unfortunately, need to move. $1,005.00 a month is less than market rate and includes water and a washer and dryer in unit. Each apartment also comes with underground parking and storage, as well as GE appliances including: Microwave, Refrigerator, Stove & Oven 24 hour maintenance on site and very friendly management team. Offers online rent payment option. Has kitchen and den area outside of office for all tenants to use, as well as a pool.
