Just an eight-minute walk west of the University of Kentucky, the South Broadway Park neighborhood offers excellent access to some of Lexington’s biggest attractions. Lexington is known as the Horse Capital of the World where Kentucky Derby horses are bred, trained, bought, raced, and retired. South Broadway Park is only four minutes from the Red Mile, a world-famous horse racing track complete with simulcasts, dining, games, and live music. The neighborhood is also close to the Kentucky Museum of Art where you can take a workshop sponsored by the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts.
Tee it up at the Gary Brewer Jr Golf Course, the first public golf course in central Kentucky, only a few minutes west of the neighborhood. If you’re looking for good food, this neighborhood is packed with restaurants. Take a trip to South Broadway Place, a mall with a variety of options including wings, pizza, ramen, sushi, and tacos. The area has a suburban feel with verdant streets.

Property Ratings at MidTown Apartments
MidTown is a great location. I walked in after going to the nearby UK gym and saw a 1 bedroom that was really nice. I am excited for my upcoming lease with them and being able to walk to work will be really nice!
This place is close to downtown and the UKY hospitals, which might explain why there are constantly substance users walking around the place at night. Last week there was a man creaming at the air in from of my window and kept me up for an hour. Last night another man was standing near my building on the way to the trash bins and started yelling at me incoherently. I've also found my car broken into several times. Nothing has been stolen as I don't leave anything of value in it but I've had to make sure I lock it so I don't find my glove compartment open and my documents thrown all over.
I've lived in this property for five years, so I have gained a pretty good perspective on them. I've chosen to live here due to proximity to UKY, the gym and the indoor washer dryer. Since I moved, I've had to get requests to fix the washer/dryer on a yearly basis because the units are old and they won't replace them. Last year I got asked to relocate units and the one they gave me has faulty electrical wiring that keeps me from turning off the living room lights. I've submit multiple requests to fix this and have gotten nothing done about it. I've had to get start bulbs to turn off the lights. More recently I've noticed that the leaky roofs have begun to create water spots in my ceiling (I live on a first floor so water is seeping all the way from the roof on the third floor). The A/C units in the apartments are pretty old and mine has stopped calling this summer. They keep sending the same person who won't fix it and hits has hiked my electric bill up by three times as much as what I pay, not to mention having to deal with the heat in Lexington. They also don't replace the filters on the A/C more than once a year. I've been replacing them in my apartment, myself, after the unit started blowing dust out of the vents and I realized that the previous filter had crusted over. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for what it costs, especially considering the poor way that these people manage the complex.
This place is truly awful. I moved in to a newly renovated apartment (which cost way more) and loved it for the first few months. After that the apartment started basically falling apart. The kid that does maintenance there was completely clueless so nothing ever stayed fixed for long (if he even bothered to fix it at all). Worst of all the office staff are the most rude people I've ever dealt with. Many times I heard them talking about other residents who had complained about something which is totally unprofessional. If you come in to ask them a question don't expect anything more than a short answer and an eye roll from these people. Unless you're a potential future resident, they don't care. Heather is one of the worst, don't bother going in if she's there--she'll just scowl at you like like your existence is an inconvenience to her. The only one worse than her is the manager, Jason, who has a snarky response to even a simple question. Unless you like rude people and molding walls, go live anywhere else.
My apartments are pet friendly, clean and I barely have any problems. It is very hard to find an apartment that is pet friendly. It is also extremely close to my campus and has buses at hand. We are even allowed to paint walls and really personalize your apartment. Every apartment has either a patio or balcony, which is really nice. It even comes with free internet and cable, which can support all my devices (phones, xbox, computers). One thing that might get some people is the train beside the apartments, but honestly you don't even hear much or pay attention to it. In all I love the place, it's convenient, comfortable, and I would recommended for others.
