Between 24th Street and Lake Street, with I-35 to the west and Hiawatha Avenue to the east, Midtown has become one of Minneapolis' trendy neighborhoods. It is home to the Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Hospital, the Midtown Global Market, and Saint Mary's University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Campus. And while there are businesses scattered throughout the neighborhood, most can be found along Lake Street. The Midtown Global Market, located in the old Sears building, offers more than 45 shops and restaurants from more than 22 different cultures.
Stewart Park, located in the middle of Midtown, provides ball fields, a playground, and a seasonal wading pool. On the east side, East Phillips Park offers a community center, a basketball court, and a playground.

Property Ratings at Midtown Exchange Apartments
There is so much to say about this place, I will start with the good; spacious floor plans, cheap parking, and the Global Market downstairs. Now the bad, the management is a nightmare; the epitome of inhospitable and unaccomodating. The place is in a perpetual state of disrepair, it takes several calls to get anything fixed and even then it is a quick band-aid fix. Hot water is usually an issue and when it is not, the water is too hot or too cold with no inbetween. Winters are brutal and for some reason extremely dry (keep a humidifier handy). The place is not very safe, all sorts of shady people slip through the controlled access, but hey I get it, "Chicago and Lake". The halls are always rank with Marijuana and since the place has this weird shared air system, expect some of that to creep into your home at some point. The laundry is very expensive, $2.25 for a wash. They also have these "efficient" washers that you use about 1-2 gallons of water, unless you wash 3-4 shirts at a time, forget about getting a good wash. Lastly, the halls are DIRTY.

Way to expensive for the quality of management, maintenance, and lack of energy efficiency. Which are all very sub-par, work orders take more than one request, the new management team is rude, and unprofessional. I guess they just hire anyone because staff are always quitting. The hot water is an issue every year it goes out, apartments are really cold in winter, so expect a high energy Bill. It's just a sad situation, I'm out of here first chance. I do not recommend this place, if your the type of person who never sends a bad dish back to the chef. You might do ok here. The only thing that I like about living here is the shops downstairs, the size and style of my apartment. Everything else sucks!

The apartment complex is good. It's wonderful to have a market and restaurants right below you, that's one of the biggest bonuses about the place. I do however wish there were doors in the apartments. It is pretty spacious and a very open feel. I have been living here for 2 years and think it great! The matinece usually gets things done by the next day. The office has very nice people who are willing to work with your issues or needs. The only negative thing is that each floor has a different smell to it from all the different things people do in their places. So it would be nice to have something to mask that all the time. But other than that it's great!

We appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoy living at Midtown Exchange.
I repeat, do not even consider. They have changed management at least 6 times in the past 6 years they i have resided here. The worst non English speaking maintenance team ever. They will tell you they fixed something and it is a complete lie. The hallways just now were cleaned after 5 years. The trash room on each floor is filled with bugs and the worst stitch you have every smelled. The only positive are the vendors on the street level. But i wouldn't dare move here just for that. Keep looking, take my word for it!!!

I've always love "Loft" apartments. This apartment is ok, but I only have one window. Other than that it is a nice apartment.
