Property Ratings at Midwood Estates
Just a heads up, fees to apply are $225, not $150. There is minimum $350 fee to move in (goes up with poor credit), no refund/deposit. For pets, you have to register them them with an outside company for about $20 per pet. Then there is the $600 pet fee, nonrefundable. A lot of hidden fees up front. Maybe that's normal for this area. The people seeting everything are very nice. It has taken three weeks and the process is very disorganized. I've been asked four separate time what day I want to move in (besides putting it on the application). Milding frustrating, but nothing bad.
I’ve been a resident for nine years. And I renew my lease because of management and security. I’ve been safe since I’ve been here.
WORST apartments! There was a roach infestation. When I brought it to management, there response was “Well I wouldn’t call it an infestation. I’ve seen worse.” Every time I walked into the apartment, you could see half a dozen roaches on the walls just at first sight, and far more as you walked through the apartment; On the ceilings, walls, floors and in the dishwasher, kitchen drawers, lights. I went into the bathroom, lifted the toilet seat cover to flush the toilet, and nearly a dozen roaches fell into the toilet bowl! The excuse I got was that since I was only coming by the apartment at night, that’s why I saw so many; because they are more active at night. That doesn’t make it ok that there are roaches in my apartment! I wasn’t allowed to break my lease without a penalty, even though it hadn’t even been a month since I’d signed the lease in the first place. I had to scheduled pest control to come out and treat once a week, which helped, but the number of dead roaches coming out of the walls was so disgusting that I was never able to be comfortable there. I was paying for an apartment I couldn’t stay in because I couldn’t afford to pay moving expenses AGAIN and a termination fee. I moved out in August and in November I started receiving notices from a collections agency that I owed them an additional termination fee that I had already taken care of in August when I’d left. I never received any communication from Ashford regarding this alleged fee, and they refuse to return my calls when I have called to inquire about the fee. Other problems… The “remodels” are a joke! When they “upgraded” the kitchens, they painted over the old cabinets without even bothering to clean them out first. You can see dead insects, dirt, and various substances clearly immortalized into the cabinets and drawers. That color choice for the new carpeting was genius though! It disguises all the bugs crawling around the bedrooms. They also have a new fancy gym for you to use, but only during office hours. So basically, if you work a 9-5 you might as well add a separate gym membership to your monthly expenses. The trash bin is DISGUSTING! It overflows every week and people just throw their trash anywhere. Logic would suggest you get more than one dumpster for such a large complex or have it emptied more than once a week. There is ZERO cell service in the apartments. You have to go out to the parking lot to make a call. And good luck getting messages to download.

There is to much noise my children can't sleep the people that live on top of me make to much noise. And there is to much mosquitos and their is a mold out side of my door and the neighbor's things are out side of my door , the pool is not clean my child got the pink eye because of the pool.
I moved in about a year after the new owners took over. The staff has always been professional and know me by name when I come in. They have fully renovated all of the public spaces, repaved the whole complex and redid all of the landscaping. The rent has gone up and they are renovating all of the apartments, no longer renting or re-renting the non-updated ones. I have only had "issues" with one set of neighbors (excessively loud, throwing parties all night, trashing the place), but the hike in rent with the mandatory upgrades caused them to move out. I had a few minor maintenance things when I first moved in and they came within a few hours of me calling. I have never felt unsafe here. I absolutely love my apartment and would recommend it to anyone.

Only issue is the sign out Fr makes it hard to see getting out. Really need to move it back some. There was a accident because of it. Otherwise the apartments are nice, laundry is right there in the same building as you. Cozy.
I have been in my apartment for about 5 months now and I really like it. The apartment was bought out by someone and ever since that happened I have seen nothing but great progression. The new staff are awesome and very helpful. I would reccomend this place to anyone it is very clean and bug free.
