Wallingford extends from Green Lake south to Lake Union. Located between Aurora Avenue and I-5, Wallingford is directly west of the University of Washington. The southern tip of the neighborhood consists of Gas Works Park, a historic park with incredible views of the mountains and a kite-flying hill. The park was once home to the Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant, built in 1906. Meridian Park, another popular Wallingford destination, is home to the historic Good Shepherd Center, also built in 1906.
Considered one of Seattle's trendier neighborhoods, Wallingford offers a terrific blend of historic and modern. Places like the Wallingford Center manage to combine both -- hip, trendy shops and restaurants in a historic building that once served as a school and is now a mixed-use development. Closer to the university, residents can visit the Burke Museum, the Henry Art Gallery, and the Neptune Theatre.

Property Ratings at Milan Apartments
This apartment complex has exceeded my expectations! Tara, the apartment manager, is always helpful. The neighborhood itself feels very safe, and the residents who live in the complex are generally quiet and friendly. If you're looking for a place in the Wallingford/Fremont area, this will likely fit your needs.
My partner and I lived at Milan for one year and found the property manager Tara was not clear with communication. We had issues with the facilities that were not properly managed. We were told that we would get a "free month" of parking which ended up being "the remainder of the month free," which was 4 days instead of what it had originally been marketed to us as. There was also a time where we did have access to water for more than 24 hours and they were not responsive with offering us a place to use the bathroom. It was frustrating to try and be patient with a property management company that did not seem to care at all about the people living in the building.

I had a fantastic opportunity to call this my home sweet home for 4 years and hands down- there is no place like Milan! A hybrid of modern and historic building, this place is a Seattle Emerald treasure. The roof top is very relaxing with amazing downtown views. The gal at the rental office was incredibly nice. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Hi there, thank you so much for your positive comments about The Milan! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!
My husband and I lived at the Milan Apartments for three years from 2017-2020 and we'd highly recommend it. The manager, Tara is so kind, responsive to maintenance requests, and proactive with keeping the property well maintained. The people who live in this building are very friendly as well and most people have pets, which is fun for us. The amenities like washer and dryer, good decks, and rooftop deck have all been features that we've enjoyed. The proximity of Aurora was the only downside but is what made it affordable for us to live in such a great neighborhood. Our bedroom was facing the road and I have worn earplugs pretty consistently for the last couple of years for sleep. My husband is a heavier sleeper and has no issues.

I have lived here about 2 years and so far I find it’s a good place to live. Apartment is spacious with gorgeous views of the east side mountain, lake union & downtown. Wallingford town is a 5 minute walk to grocery, shops, restaurants & easy bus access to travel downtown for some fun adventures. I would recommend this place to any of my friends just as I am recommending it to you, the readers of my review.

I've lived at Milan since last September. Great rooftop, quiet neighborhood, and administrative staff that's always welcoming and quick to address any issues. Price is incredibly reasonable as well!
I have lived here for over a year. The apartments are in a great place. Very close to Restaurants & Green Lake. Very friendly environment with a nice rooftop area. I am happy & I hope you will be, too!
Had an appointment with the on-site manager to tour an unit. We arrived 15 mins early and upon calling her, she informed me that she had just stepped out briefly in anticipation of our meeting being on-time (I had no problem with that as we were early). Five mins later she called back saying that she now had an appointment that was running long and asked if we could push back our tour an hour. I asked her how she could of had planned to step out briefly but now tell me that her current appointment was running long. Doesn't make sense to me.....her response was "I'm not sure what else I can tell you. Can you not just come back in an hour". I was tentative on the place based on the reviews about the management. So yeah it's going to be a pass for us.

Initially I thought the new look would apply all units of the building... When I got in for a tour and asked for 2 bedroom unit, I was led to this unit that looked so outdated (with old carpets all over; looking shabby), and completely different from the pictures above. I even asked if there's another unit that is modernized and I was told it's for 1-bedrooms only. I then got deeply disappointed because I looked forward to live in such a nice place. With misleading information, it is apparent that the management isn't keen on details...and not so considerate of potential tenants when they're looking for a decent place to live in. Thumbs down.

We have (2) 2x newly built but they were occupied as well as both pictures of renovated & Traditional style here & on our website. All details are thoroughly described upon tours. We also update (carpets&counter tops) our traditional on a "as needed" basis. I do believe you wanted to see the unit while it was not turned meaning carpets/unit not cleaned yet. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and strive on making it the best touring experience possible for potential future residents. We Love our wonderful residents!!
I have been thoroughly impressed during my time at Milan. The location, apartment, staff, cleaning, rooftop and common areas are all fantastic. Having done a significant amount of research before moving in, I believe the rent is also very reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended!

I know the staff went through some changes in the past but the Manager now is very amazing. She knows how to handle people with the best services that you won't find anywhere else. Excellent customer service skills.... Quiet, Clean, nice people around, great commute almost to all destinations within the Seattle area, especially Green-Lake & all the shops. Great value for the location.

Hello, we're happy to hear you are having a positive experience with our team! We sincerely thank you for the positive review, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
I did not live at Milan Apartments, but I toured it looking for a 1 bedroom. The pictures listed are only for a handful of renovated units on the bottom floor that are very small compared to the pictures. The rest of the building is falling apart and the outside hallways into each unit look like they've never been cleaned!

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience touring our community with us. We appreciate your honest feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Our team is actively receiving bids for hallway cleaning as well as our staff that handles daily hallway & grounds cleaning . We are happy to announce that we have updated our Hallway/Stairwell painting. We have some really exciting additions coming to the rooftop soon :) Thank you, Milan Management Team!
Well after 6 months of living in this building I was so eager to pack and move to a much better living space. But that is it! We went through 2 managers, Half a dozen maintenance people who had no idea how to repair any issues we had. At move in time we did address some minor issues and the manager quickly stated she would get that addressed. Big mistake on my part! Right up to moving out things were not addressed. We lived on the top floor and the ceiling began to leak after just 2 weeks in. We quickly alerted the manager about the issue. The leak got to the point where the ceiling was literally breaking apart and falling on to our bed. They stapled a plastic bag witch was up for a week but quickly broke on to our bed and floor full of water. After about 3 months in they thought to had fixed it and brought it machines that stood in our way of getting into bdrm for more than a week in a half. 4 months in the ceiling starting staining and water started coming down walls. We sent emails, made phone call, and with minimal response from yet another new person in charge it was never fixed. Moving out day the ceiling are still not repaired and leaking jus everywhere. I emailed a list of issues and not one was really addressed. I would urge anyone that is even looking at this place to call home to NOT give in. I have photos of ongoing and emails to confirm our on-going effort to get issues address.Construction, broken elevator, leaks, falling ceiling, windows that wouldn't close, They promise promise promise but nothing happens. The new manager who I met on moving out day was so apologetic but was eager to say all the upgrades they had planned on doing and calling it industrial flat and already stating the huge increase in rent they had planned on. She said she could get it to. Our deposit she promised on the last day didn't happen. We really did not think we would see anything extra really. Then we got partial amount back with an email stating they charge for sterilizing and cleaning carpets and other things?! Funny..On none of our 3 freakin leases they had us sign did it say this was part of our refundable deposit. I left it cleaner and more sterile than you gave it to me. They are joke. We gave them thousands of dollars at move in day and got nothing but headaches and sleepless night. Please people... walk away from this property.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We care about our residents and it is of importance to us that we provide our tenants with top-notch cmmunication. In keeping with this positive intention, from time to time, common area updates are necessary. We understand that the leaking is inconvenient and we sincerely apologize for any frustrations you have felt. Although there is never an ideal time to complete leaks within Washington weather, we do our best to find times to complete work orders that are the least inconvenient to our residents and we are happy to report that we have resolved the leaks. We apologize if you felt we lacked in communication regarding the unfortunate incident with the work. In response to our residents' feedback, we have held meetings to go over construction tips and to address possible concerns. We have also refined our policies regarding our resident communication, sterilization & cleaning fees. It is a priority of ours to address our residents' concerns and we are very saddened to learn of your disappointing experience. Please know we are always available in the leasing office to discuss your concerns and we would like the opportunity to address them directly with you, as this is the best way for us to resolve your concerns.
