Property Ratings at Mill Street Village
I've lived in Mill St Apartments for five years, both in one and two-bedroom units. The apartments are quiet, clean, and cozy—really great. I have never had any bad experience with staff. They are super helpful and responsible if anything comes up. I highly recommend it to anyone new in town!
Gloomy, old, dirty apartments. Dirty laundry. Incredibly rude and irresponsible when I faced an issue. They unfairly deducted half of my deposit just because I left some plastic bags in the kitchen. Never ever waste your money for renting Mill st apartments.
People are right about the cockroaches and beat up laundry room. But, this place is so solid and quiet, those details didn't bother me so much. I rented so many houses in Athens that are so rickety-- if you jump up and down glasses might fall off the shelf. Plus your neighbors might be keeping you up. This place is a fortress. If you get a garden apartment like mine you will have cement/concrete block for walls/ceiling and floor. Your neighbors might be throwing a rave and you will be sleeping soundly. The staff is super nice too, I don't get the complaints there. They were responsive and friendly with me, I think if you pay your rent on time and follow the lease you'll be OK.
Recently moved out, did not realize until its too late how bad it was there. Incredibly rude whenever I had an issue and refused to help unless I bugged them about it. Everyone from maintenance to leasing office. I have yet to meet someone that has a positive thing to say about the staff there. Apartment was fine I guess, the two bedroom isn't bad but overpriced in my opinion. I just do not recommend it.
This place is a great place to live. I’ve had nothing but good experience here. Have not encountered any problems at all. The staff is awesome and always there to help. Will take care of any problems you have. The rent is reasonable/affordable. Again, the staff is awesome from the office ladies, maintenance gentleman & the evening customer service gentleman. Again, I haven’t encountered any problems at all. I’m a very clean person and I haven’t had any issues. You are informed well in advance of anything that needs to be done. Very safe, clean quiet place to live. And that’s due to the staff. So, I give a big thumbs up ???? to the staff.
I am a current resident here and i 1000% regret signing my lease. There is a terrible COCKROACH problem and the staff is doing the absolute bare minimum to fix it and it seems like they don’t want to acknowledge that the bugs here are actually cockroaches. I have had to take cold showers way too often since I have been here and there doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency to fix it. The laundry situation is not good. Very old washers and dryers and very small. My clothes come out soaking wet and I end up having to run the dryer 4 times just to get my clothes dry. I finally just decided to go to a laundromat down the street and pay a little more just to have clean dry clothes. I have been here 7 months and there seems to be a new maintenance guy here every other month because the others “didn’t work out”?? The only decent thing about living here is that the walls are pretty thick so you don’t hear your neighbors that often but other than that everything else sucks. I cannot wait for my lease to be up so I can get out of here.
Ok first off, this place has COCKROACHES. Two of the buildings here are infested with them and the staff is aware of it. They post signs on everyone’s door maybe like once every two months for mandatory bug spraying. All they do is come into your unit for no more than 30 seconds and spray two small spots in the kitchen and bathroom. It obviously isn’t doing anything because it has been a problem since I’ve moved in so they’re clearly not concerned. I’m a very clean person and I’ve lived at other places before. Never had this problem. Secondly, the laundry situation here is a mess. The washers and dryers are awful and you’ll be spending ridiculous amounts of money for your clothes to actually get dry. Plus, the washers make your clothes smell TERRIBLE and most of them don’t even work half the time. I’ve resorted to having to use a laundromat nearby which is incredibly inconvenient. Third, they replace the maintenance people way too often which is very shady. They’ll leave papers on your door notifying you of new maintenance staff while also listing that the old staff is “no longer associated with Mill Street Village” without giving any kind of explanation. Since I’ve moved in, there have been about 4 or 5 different maintenance people working with the same cryptic notification left on your door without any explanation of why the last one was let go. Forth, and this one is a small complaint, but there are no lights in the bedroom or living room for some of the units, which should be pretty telling of how old these buildings are and how much they need renovating. Lastly, the place just looks so dirty and unkept all the time. There’s literally been a bloodstain on the wall in the elevator for almost 2 months now. A window got broken in one of the stairwells and it did not get fixed for weeks, causing all kinds of bugs to flood the entire stairwell. The carpets in the halls look stained and gross. Honestly, a motel on the side of the highway would look good in comparison to this place. PLEASE. Do yourself a favor and avoid the mistake I made. DO NOT LIVE HERE. You’ll find something better.
