Property Ratings at Millcrest Park
Property is dirty and disgusting. There is literally dog poop and trash everywhere. Walls are paper thin so you hear your neighbors fairly well. Children run and scream throughout the community, halls, stairs, etc. from the time they get home from school to well into the night. Bad weather does not keep them inside either. Cars are dented due to children on their bikes, throwing footballs, and playing around cars. Complaints to the office staff, which change every few months, are never dealt with. Why be in this business if you don’t like confronting complaints? Parking is a headache after 4p. Only move here as a last resort and if temporary.
We have been living in this community for 3+ years now. The only good thing about this community is it's location that falls in good schooling district. Other than that there is not much to like. Property management folks are extremely rude especially property manager Whitney. Absolutely zero respect for residents and are treated as if management is doing a favor on residents by letting them reside on their property. In recent months even the crime rate and nuisance has spiked up with quality of residents going downhill. Apartments are old. Mold and Pest are major issues. In case you report to office regarding pest/mold/broken blinds, management is quick to fine/charge the resident for the same. Appliances and carpets are old. They will do anything to not replace their old appliances even if that means a new ticket every day. If schooling is not a priority, then avoid this community by all means.
We have lived here 3 weeks. When we moved in (we did not see the apartment before moving in due to relocating and not having time) there were thousands of ants all over the kitchen. We finally figured out were coming from holes in the walls above the cabinets. Maintenance caulked holes and requested pest control. While this took care of the ants be aware that they do not have regular pest control only if there is a problem and you request will they come to your unit. Last night our garbage disposal stopped working or maybe this was the first I used it and the sink backed up into itself. The maintenance man told me that I am not to put food in the sink that the next time he will charge me to unclog. I am confused???? I have had a garbage disposal in my home for the last 20 years and have never had it clog. If you are going to advertise garbage disposals then they should work! Save yourself a lot of hassle and rent elsewhere. We are counting down the days till we can move!
I have lived in these apartments for 3 years and the initial management was great. Later new management (current one) came in. This is when everything went down hill. Every time that you reach out to the office which I hardly ever do, I can never get an answer. It always goes straight to VM, this is because they do not have enough people working at the office. When I attempt to go directly to the office, I always find a sign that says they are away which is extremely frustrating. The building and hallway areas are NEVER cleaned so there is constantly trash and it is filthy. If the noise is a concern for you, do not move here. My neighbors are great considerate people however, I can hear their alarm go off in the mornings or even when they are on their phone which is ridiculous. I cant wait to move out of here!
This place is terrible. The appliances are constantly breaking. The walls are paper thin. They do not care about the people that live here. They never tell you if you have mail in the office. It's just all around a bad decision.
Do not rent here. They do not honor what they tell you, they are slow in responses or corrections. There are lots of options in fort mill now do not rent here.
Millcrest Park is located in Fort Mill SC where the school districts are absolutely the best you could ask for. The community is fantastic and many residents have formed friendships from spending weekends at the pool. The pool is fairly small with a max depth of 4.5 foot but there is plenty of seating now that new chairs and tables have recently been added. Some of the apartments have been upgraded and have beautiful kitchens, but many have the older kitchens with simple while appliances and counter tops. When you come to look for an apartment here I would ask to be shown the upgraded apartments. Balconys and sunrooms are available but I would suggest the balcony unit. The sunrooms are simply and extra few feet added to the living room with extended walls to allow it to be defined as "sunroom". As a third floor resident, I am very rarely disturbed by neighbor noise. The only thing I ever hear is when residents allow their doors to slam. My neighbors who live on lower floors tell me that they can hear quite a bit of noise. With that said, choose the third floor. It's a pain to climb those stairs, but well worth it once you are up there. Bedrooms are good sized and the closet in the master bedroom is fair. The closets in the other bedrooms are substantially smaller. The community management has changed several times over the last year, but the current team seems to be very responsive. Overall it is a great community to live it, especially if you have kids!
