Positioned right where the San Joaquin Valley meets the Sierra Nevada, Bakersfield is a thriving community that wears its unique heritage on its sleeve. While one of California’s largest cities today, Bakersfield’s local character is heavily influenced by its agricultural background. Horse shows are popular, with many filling the calendar, and locals love to take advantage of the outlying landscape in off-road vehicles. Festivals throughout the year celebrate the city’s diverse cultural influences, including Native American, Basque, Greek, and Scottish events.
Musical traditions run deep in Bakersfield, and largely define the community.

Property Ratings at Ming Tree Apartments
I have lived at Ming Tree for 3 years now and I like that it is close to a park, shopping and restaurants. I am impressed that management is very concerned with the safety at the complex and has a quick response to any concerns.
Apartment complex is relatively old(built in the late 1970's), but property is well maintained with some normal wear and tear and well managed. Property manager is great at communication and responds to requests and needs usually within a day or two. The complex is near the center of major shopping centers (about 5-15 minutes away). Just to name a few places, the mall is about less than 10 minutes away, CSU - Bakersfield is literally a 10 minute drive, the marketplace is not even 10 minutes away, Starbucks can be found within 5 minutes, and In-Shape gym isn't too far as well. Basically, what I really like about this is the location. I also like the fact that it's affordable. Rent for my studio is $660/mo and it's just enough space for what I need. Rent is month to month, so there's some flexibility there if you decide you're unhappy with the place, you're fine to leave as long as you take the proper steps of course. I like the layout of the studio. Neighbors are relatively quiet, which is a plus for me. Tenants tend to be a lot of older folks or people barely starting their families. I was told that there would be a security on site, but I only saw the security guard twice since the past 5 months I've been here. Not that it's a problem, but it'd be nice to have security come out more often as management said they would. There are plenty of parking spaces, which is another thing I like about this place. I don't have to worry about fighting for parking.
These apartments have such a safe feeling, very calm neighborhood and the manager is always available. They also have monthy activities for the residents of the apartments and special drawings on holidays. You feel safe and at home in these apartment's. I could not think of a better first home for our family, weve been here for three years and i could not imagine myself somewhere else.
