Property Ratings at Minooka Parkway Estates
I lived here for 3 years... during the time we lived here we encountered MANY problems. The first would be that our trashy neighbour's on all 3 sides constantly had police coming, and obvious drug smells in the halls that did come into our unit. There were loud middle of night fights and even an escaped felon being harbored in a neighbors unit which required police kicking the door in at 1am, while we have a sleeping newborn. The downstairs storage units, if you want to call them that, we're simply 2x4s and chicken wire. Our neighbour's packed theirs so full of heavy boxes that their wall collapsed onto our items, smashing my grandmother's China. They "fixed" it, and a week later it collapsed again. After reporting it, they declined to fix it again. Our hot water frequently (2-5 times a week) did not have hot water for showers, and they told us that it's our fault for taking showers at the wrong time if day. In December our heat went out, WITH CHILDREN, and we were told to Google the "easy fix" ourselves. And this is all while being overcharged for similar units in the area.. When we finally had enough, we gave 2 months notice, rented a carpet cleaner (out of courtesy, as the carpet was fine), filled nail holes, bought the same colour paint and repainted the whole unit, and after asking for our security deposit back, which was over $1200, we were told it was being kept because of a hole in the wall. There WAS no hole in the wall, and because we left the apartment in such great condition we didn't think taking photos was necessary, so we couldn't prove it in court. HUGE MISTAKE! ALWAYS TAKE PHOTOS. AND DONT MOVE IN HERE!! -700/10 STARS
