Maintenance is a nightmare A month ago when hurricane Helene hit I had flooding in my apt. Cleaning up the mess I realized I had existing water damage I'm my living room corner and front door. My baseboards were water stained and growing black mold. This is considered an emergency maintenance request. It took maintenance 3 weeks to bring a dehumidifier and another week to just paint over my baseboards and now they marked my request as completed. In addition, I pretty much went into the office every week to follow up on my request since no one ever picks up the phone there. Needless to say, I'm still dealing with the mold and yet again have to go to the office to talk to them.
The maintenance staff is amazing, however, the quality of this place is horrible. In our short stay, we experienced the following - Roaches and centipedes - Malfunctioning A/C - Sloppy painting, which was even on the hardwood floors - Musty odor, likely from mold - Several outlets not working upon arrival - The outlets that did work were loose - Ceiling vents missing screws - Insecure mailbox - Air filter wasn't replaced upon our arrival - Bathroom rod fell off - Front door handle loose and in poor condition - Fire alarm missing a battery upon arrival - Gas stove not working - Water tank hasn't been replaced since 1991 and didn't have proper coverage over heater's flame which produced fumes and is a fire hazard. The price is renter-friendly but the condition of everything is extremely poor.
This is a nice place to rent. Very polite staff.
If there was a such thing as a negative review, this property would get it times 1000. Nasty, cheap, lazy and sheisty are some of the best words I can use to describe my stay here. When it was time for me to move and reach out to them about a $200+ balance owed for normal wear and tear and a frivolous “COVID-19 Cleaning” charge (I never had Covid at that point), they ignored all my calls. I also followed up via email to the assistant manager, there was no response or follow up. By law, they’re not allowed to charge for normal wear and tear plus some of the wear and tear they charged me for was for things that existed prior to me moving there! Fast forward, they’ve sent this bs balance to collections and they will now be hearing from me. Please move with precaution with this property. They are very unprofessional, lack proper communication, and should be shut down. This only touches the surface of what I endured (I.e. negligence with mold and flooding, roaches, health compromised due to poor air quality, etc.) I could go on and on but you start to get the point. Do not lease here if you value your peace of mind.
This place is a wonderful apt. Complex with privacy gated front porch area, one of the things that sold me on leaving here, they upgrade and do rentivstions often to keep this place up to par. Great office team, Gina has been extremely helpful when I needed things done at my place, very understanding and is willing to go the extra mile for you! I called ahead to make an appointment and the woman on the phone was nice enough that I didn't think to change my mind about going for a tour. When I get there, I notice that there are no gates to secure residents and there was a Clarkston Police patrol vehicle sitting at the entrance of the complex. I went inside to get the tour started, and the people in administration acted like they had no idea why I was there. It took them about 15 minutes to understand that I was there to tour a 3-bedroom apartment. Now, when I called to set up the appointment, the lady told me that they did have 3-bedroom apartments to tour; when I got there, they said they didn't have any 3-bedrooms available for a tour. They finally gave me a key to self-tour a 3-bedroom that they "claimed" was in the middle of renovations. The apartment was in the back of the complex, and I felt very unsafe getting to the unit. The walkway to get to the apartment was dark and it was 2 in the afternoon when I was there. When I walked into apartment, I didn't want to touch anything because it looked so gross; I felt like I was going to find a body in the apartment! There were tools in the apartment but there was no clear sign of any kind renovations taking place. The floors were dirty, the bathrooms were small and dated. And the worst thing of all: there were NO light switches in any bedroom. There were no lighting fixtures or even sockets for the light switches to be installed. The apartment was too far from sunlight for there to be any natural lighting through the windows, nor would I want to open the windows in that complex. I gave up trying to find anything good about that apartment, so I went back to the front to give the key back and leave. When I got to the front, the lady at the front desk asked if I liked it and I very honestly told her no. I wanted to ask how far in renovations they had gotten, but before I could, the lady took the key from me and said bye. I would not recommend this place to anyone who has kids, valuable belongings, or wants to have a strong sense of safety in their community. 0/10
I had the pleasure of visiting the property on Monday despite what I have heard about Brockett Rd and heard about the apartments I took my chances. The property manager, Erica, was there working by herself that day and was very busy but she took care of everyone in a very respectful and professional way. She was helping a resident who couldn't speak English very well with paying their rent online when I walked in. She was patient with the people and understanding! Maintenance was also in the office and offered to give me the tour since she was there by herself or offered to stay and hold the office down while we went. Erica took me on a tour of the property and the outside looks better than what I heard! I viewed a two bedroom townhome, LOVE IT!! The next day Tedria gave me a call to follow up and to get more information. I'm so excited about moving into my new home. I look forward to being here for a while...
Just got off the phone with Erica and she was miserable, didn’t sound like she wanted to be there at all. She was short on the phone, monotone and the information she gave me was very limited. I was interested before calling but now that I did, I can tell that the management won’t be interested in being helpful. No washer and dryers in the units or on site either? I’ll keep looking.
We moved to Atlanta at the first of the year and I was so happy to find an apartment that wasn't too expensive and in a convenient location, but I wish I had seen the apartment before I moved in it because it was absolutely horrible. The "renovations" they did were not real renovations, they only painted the walls and countertops, they didn't actually fix the apartments at all. Our apartment had a small leak, and by the time we moved out, it had turned into a flood that covered the entire floor of the hallway, bedroom, and living room. When we told the management about the problem, they sent someone to fix it but they did not actually fix anything. We also had no air conditioner because they moved us into the apartment even though it didn't have one at all. They finally installed a new unit when we moved out. While we lived there, they changed management companies three time, so obviously they don't have anything together. The owners live in Canada and they have no idea that gang and drug violence run that neighborhood. Sometimes we were afraid to walk outside to our cars because of criminal threats between the people that live there. It was a very bad experience for our first time living in Atlanta, and I highly recommend living anywhere else. Make sure to CHECK THE REVIEWS.
Stay away from here! Horrible management who are rude and dismissive. I have been trying to get things fixed since October 2017 it is now June 2018 with no improvement let alone action. Rude loud neighbors. Most everything is broken even in so called remodeled apartments. Trash is always everywhere. Parents let their small children run around in the parking lot making it dangerous to drive. Worst place and management I have ever seen. Again stay away!!!
I have been at this property here for about 7 yrs. When I first moved to the complex it was very nice it was a gated community without a lot of kids . Now there are kids everywhere when asked about the removal of the gate I was told it only provided me with a false sense of security. The pool has been closed for about 3 years when inquiring about the pool I was told that there are some repairs that need to be repaired (summer of 2017 closed as well). The maintenance staff are okay you will have to complain about four times before they come to address the problem. They continue to increase the rent yearly and was not renovating the apartments. They just recently started the renovation but in order to have your apartment renovated you have to move out. The front of the apartments are better than the back a lot of crime has started to occur in the back the dumpsters are located in the back which are not emptied frequently. I go to work and in the house that's how I have been able to stay as long as I have I am planning this upcoming year on moving though.
I been in my apartment for like 2years now,i like it but i wish it was a gated community due to all the violence that been occuring,but other then that i like my apartment.The maintenance people get up every morning picking up trash making sure the community clean,and i love that the office always come up with fun ideas for the children in the neighborhood to keep them away from trouble,but i just cant really deal with my rent keep going up..
Portofino, the meaning, vacation resort,Celebrity visitors, Please don't be fooled! Just a beautiful word given to embellish ,former property, new name, new management, same principals. Collect the rent and provide little or nothing else, for safety or the feeling of pride for tenants to call home. My hoped for ,heartfelt helpful tip for this property,Spanish style curb appeal upon sight ,yes. As soon as the ink dries on lease, the leasing staff charms of deceit starts, your safety and hopes for a happy rental home vanishes.you pay and pray .please keep your credit clean, giving yourself options to find property in future that will provide the necessary safety and pride to call your starter home. I must move from this property with hope to find and provide safe dwellings for my new family.
