Property Ratings at Mode at Hyattsville
I’ve lived here since 2017 and it’s okay. Property management has changed several times but everyone seems friendly and helpful for the most part. Mice have been a constant issue in my apartment which is frustrating. There are also tacked on additional recurring fees that started some time ago. Since I’ve been here, they have added more equipment at the gym at times (which I find most beneficial). I’m not a fan of the new parking requirements/rules. Maintenance staff is great and the process for notifying the office is relatively simple
Where to begin. Living here is a living nightmare, we complain numerous times about trash all in the stairway, now mice, also dog poop. I'm serious people don't move here. Maintenance is horrible. They will show up to your apt unannounced when you put a issues. Overall the Apts are nice if they keep up the maintenance inside and outside. Very dissatisfied for all the money you pay for rent. ??
The good: - Really nice apartments, lots of amenities - Large workout facility - Walkable to mall, and restaurants - Nice wood floors that are easy to clean - Front office people are generally really good to work with. The bad: - Loud neighbors constantly playing music - People show up to the pool at midnight (when it's supposed to be closed) on a Tuesday and blast music. Happened many times during the summer. - Getting packages delivered here is a nightmare. - Slow to respond to service requests. Our washer won't drain. It's been a week, and they haven't contacted us about it. - Garbage often overflowing and outside the door - Parking is difficult - Apartment decided to do start a construction project on the windows/walls outside the apartment that went on for 3 months. They don't care about your comfort. - No overhead lighting - Extra light switches that don't do anything If you can put up with those things, or don't live in an apartment facing the pool, you probably won't have some of these issues. Like I said in the headline, mileage may vary depending on your situation. At the end of the day, these are really nice apartments.

Hello, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention. We would like to get more details about this; please reach out to us at your earliest convenience at ResidentCare@maac.com and allow us 48 business hours for a response.
If you don't know anything about property management you can move here and make a big mistake. They do not care about residents here and it is apparent with the lack of parking options for tenants versus the retail tenant NailTiki on site that never has business. They are too cheap to hire a 24/7 concierge to assist with resident needs after the inconvenient office hours. You won't be missing a thing if you choose another neighboring property, I know I won't be renewing my lease.
Property Manager at Mode at Hyattsville, Responded To This Review
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review our community. We strive to provide our residents with a comfortable and exceptional living experience, so it is disheartening to hear you are unhappy. We appreciate your feedback regarding parking and our office hours. We would love to talk with you further about your concerns. Please give us a call or come by our leasing office so we can discuss how we can improve. We look forward to hearing from you.
I have lived at Post Park apartments for 3 years. At first, I had no issues with the complex. We lived on the 6th floor in the back our first year. No bugs or mice. It was spacious and very clean at move-in. Then at the end of the first lease, we moved down two floors due to cheaper renewal rates. The move-out process was smooth. We didn't owe anything during this move-out (please remember this sentence while reading). However, our second apartment at this complex was disaster from the start. It was NOT clean. We had to re-clean our kitchen. We saw dead roaches in the cabinets. And low and behold, we got BEDBUGS! But Post Park did pay for the treatment and after the treatment we had no bedbugs. There was some break-ins for cars and apartments during our stay here. Luckily, we didn't have any experiences with this. The gate was broken almost every other week. So if you want a reliable gated community, this is not the place. Also, both apartments was a far walk to the trash which isn't terrible because I don't want to be near the trash compactor in case it leads to bugs, mice. And let's talk about management. We had new management every year. There was a different lady when I first moved in (loved her). Then there was different people when we signed up for the second lease (they were great). And then there was a new set of people at move-out (not great). And one more complaint about this place is WEED.The smell is so strong at night when I have to go out to empty the trash, gym, or just come in late. I sent an email to management but I still smell weed. It's gotten worse in the past few months or so. So we moved out on July 11 and our apartment was clean (much cleaner than move-in). They ripped us off when it came to charges. Remember I said to remember the sentence that said "we didn't owe anything during our first move-out". Well we moved the same items from that apartment to the new one and did the same thing in the new one, which is not damage the place smh. Here is a summary of the charges (wall treatment over $300, carpet stain $50). We had no pets and no children. We did have one small carpet stain near our trash can where something leaked from trash one day. The wall stains look like MINOR scrapings from items. If your dresser, bed, desk chair, storage containers TOUCH the wall, that's a charge! It looks like basic wall paint can cover some of those stains in the pictures they sent us. This place is fee-driven and money hungry.
Only If I could give 0 stars. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE TO MOVE IN HERE!!! I have been a resident at Post Park since July and consider my moving in here a big mistake ( unfortunately I am stuck with leaving here until next July). Let me start from how poorly the place is built. We live on a first floor with a carpet unit and our upstairs neighbors have hardwood floors, we can literally here every step they make, not to mention there is loud music from their unit all the time, and they move things in the middle of the night which results in us not being able to sleep. it is extremely annoying, I contacted the management office multiple time about our issue and nothing have changed. This building is advertised as luxury apartments but is nothing more than college dorm where people throw their trash in the hallways and it smells like weed everywhere. In my opinion, this is all due to poor management and just not following up when there as an issue. Second, there are ants all over the apartment from the very first day we moved in. Third, there was a mouse in the apartment and how there won't be when the hallways and staircases in the building are never cleaned. The only ones that are being cleaned are the main building ones no one cares for the rest of the property. So please do not make the mistake to move in here, unless you don't wanna be awaken every night from your neighbors and no one in the management cares to make a change or you don't want to eat your food with ants!!!
I moved to Post Park a year ago and since then I have had a total of 9 mice and 2 rats. I pay way too much to live in luxury with rodent roommmates. My roommate and I have called the exterminators every time and the put down sticky traps which the rodents joyful walk over. Management has done NOTHING but offer to pay for traps -_-
It's a decent size apartment with a huge closet. Neighbors are quiet. Rent is somewhat fairly priced. Parking could be cheaper.
I moved into the Post Park building in mid-August and it's been satisfactory thus far. Our unit is very roomy and it was in mostly good shape upon move-in other than some rust stains and a loose mirror in the guest bathroom shower. I really like the scenic green environment visible from the balcony in spite of the proximity to MD-410. I imagine the units overlooking that highway or the apartment's entrance road have a different experience but we definitely lucked out. The pool and fitness facilities are adequate and both are pretty quiet during off hours. I was surprised to find out that there are no public bike racks on the ground level of the building, which makes lugging my mountain bike in and out every day kind of a hassle. Noise levels aren't out of hand but on the occasion that children are roaming the hallways or a neighbor is playing loud music, it's pretty disruptive. The surrounding area isn't much to write home about, but the Metro being a 10 minute walk away makes DC somewhat accessible. It's also an easy walk to the mall and Target, though I wish I didn't have to cross the busy highway to reach the Giant grocery store and the PG Plaza station, which looks a lot closer than it actually is when you're getting there on foot. Since I'm a UMD student, I'll probably stick it out here until I'm done with my program but I don't think it would be my apartment of choice as a professional.
Post Park is the perfect location with amazing amenities, that is bus & Metro Accessible.
Great apartment, great staff, has everything a family or a single person may need.
New resident to Post Park and the grounds are lovely. Shopping is walking distance and the staff is great.
