I appreciate Valerie, since day 1 she has helped me through the process of getting into my new home despite some issues that happened she was able to get me into my new home.
It's hit or miss. Sometimes maintenance and the office are great other times they are horrible and I feel bad for having to call about things. The buildings are gross, laundry works 1/2 the time. No fire alarms in building 9, they have been ripped out of the ceiling. Rent is way too expensive and they nickel and dime you for everything. You have to pay 3.75 for laundry, parking passes are 16 for a couple and then rent. We were told we had certain things in our apartment but we don't. Overall stayed because this was the most affordable. Our lease will be up for renewal soon but I don't think we will sign again.
My experience with the modern has been extremely horrible, employees and managers are extremely rude. Freak out anytime you ask them to do their job. Trash and dead animals are in the parking lot. Charging me for things they shouldn’t. Never can get ahold of anyone.
When I first moved in I loved my unit and the property. Since then there has been so many changes in management. Stuff is being left undone, sloppy, messy. The crossing of people in some units, the cleanliness of the property isn’t the same. The up keep of the amenities at the property is not the same.

Not taken care of AT ALL! Pool has been filled and CLOSED since April, it's all changed up and I lost track how many different excuses residents have been given! Pictures on the website is a LIE! the grills they say they have are dirty, BROKEN and have NO GAS! Play ground is dirty and smells like dog crap! Look at the "whole" property and find a resident & ask them!

They don’t fix anything, they don’t enforce quite hours or anything else in the lease. They will tow your car even with a permit and they will ignore your calls if they don’t want to help.

My experiences as a resident at The Modern Apartments have been completely terrible, and the office management and broader Avenue5 regional management have done nothing to make the situation right in spite of multiple attempts contact them. Our issues have included an ongoing roach problem, a lack of hot water and heat in winter, poor management, and overall poor quality of the apartment and grounds. 1. We have been battling a roach problem for ~6 months, and the problem was made worse by multiple miscommunications between the leasing office and the exterminator. In addition, the roaches keep reappearing, apparently because the problem has not been properly addressed in our neighboring units. 2. We had inconsistent hot water and heat for much of the winter, while the boilers in our unit were being fixed. They were not fixed in a timely manner, and there was a solid one-month period this January when we did not have enough hot water for a single shower, and the building's heat went out several times. The apartment complex did not remedy this situation in a timely manner. To make matters worse, the water has been shut off completely three times since those repairs were fixed. 3. The transition of the complex to Avenue 5 ownership was not handled well and made life as a tenant more difficult. For example, there were two months when there was absolutely no ledger and one month where we didn't even receive a utility bill, so it was up to us to guess what we owed and write a check to the office. In addition, there were several times when I attempted to go talk to the office employees during business hours and all the doors were locked and shades were drawn, and nobody answered the door when I knocked. Finally, the new employees were not trained properly and weren't aware of how to handle simple things like guest parking passes. 4. I am overall very unhappy with the quality of the apartment complex. There is an excessive amount of trash lying around the grounds most of the time, the walls are incredibly thin, and the floorboards are very squeaky. 5. The staff is incredibly rude and regularly ignores tenant questions and complaints when you do manage to get in touch with them.

This place is ridiculous. I have had a MOLD PROBLEM in the master bedroom which happens to be my SEVEN YEAR OLD daughter and I. The room is continuously moist and humid if I don’t keep fans blowing all day and night. I have had to wash MY ENTIRE CLOSET OF CLOTHES WHICH IS EVERY PIECE OF CLOTHING I OWN FOUR TIMES IN THREE WEEKS. They didn’t go to find the real issue or offer for us to go somewhere while there is MOLD, we are living and sleeping around MOLD. They provided me with an OZONE GENERATOR instead of a dehumidifer. The Ozone generator is not for inhabited areas! It is extremely dangerous for our health and I not only have my seven year old here but my cat and my brother so naturally I inplugged it and went to the office where a very nice TEMP had to hear me flip out where she can’t do anything about it. Today is the third week I’ve had to wash my entire closet. They haven’t offered to reimburse my laundry fees or to search for a main issue. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME AND ITS DISGUSTING AND EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY. I am mortified with this experience and I was told I have to wait until MONDAY to talk to management. This is a SERIOUS issue and I don’t recommend living in this mold infested apartment complex as they don’t take care of serious issues like this because they don’t believe it’s an emergency. This is MOLD WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND PUTTING AN OZONE GENERATOR THAT EMITS OZONE LEVELS MORE THAN .04 PPM. LOOK THAT ONE UP. They are risking our health and I am told I have to wait until I get out of work tomorrow evening IF I can make it by 6 pm. I have a bag of moldy clothes to show this “management”. This has been going on for FAR TOO LONG. I am beyond mortified.
