Property Ratings at Monroe House
The managers Nathan and now Anna take the time to listen and help when needed. They care about the residents and want the best experience for their tenants. The maintenance staff are friendly, keep the grounds clean and are always eager to give assistance. They recently renovated my apartment kitchen and bath and I love it. Completed within two days and they cleaned up with care. I really like the upgrades to the pool area.
Property Manager at Monroe House, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such kind words about our team & community. We are overjoyed to hear about your 5-star experience. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!
We lived here 2 years 10 months and the carpet was at least 3 to 4 years old when we moved in; we brought this to their attention when we moved in that the carpet needed to be cleaned or replaced and it never was, ever. The countertops had knife marks that were as old as the kitchen. There was a huge gash in the kitchen floor from day one; which was never corrected or address ever. We sparingly used electric and our Electric Bill (American Power & Light) was $85 to a $150 plus. The original refrigerator ran and ran and never turned off; it finally stopped working the 1st Thanksgiving we were there and they replaced it with one that had a huge crack in the middle of the freezer. It still never cooled properly either, they still did not address the crack in the freezer ever, even till they day we moved out. There was mold everywhere they "tried to remove it" however they only did it from the outside they never removed any of the drywall or anything on the inside so it came back every 1-2 months. We called city code enforcement and they still did not correct the issue. When we moved out they tried charging $140.00 for carpet that was as old as the building and hey kept our $500.00 deposit. The Property Manger and Regional Manager both where very rude and unprofessional and created a very hostile environment. Both female managers at both levels seemed to have some type of prejudice towards our household. We requested to speak to upper management a number of times and they refused to let us speak to them or return our calls. A number of times we where told "don't speak to tenants".
I was looking for an apartment that's close to my job and came across this apartment. The apartment was 2beds/2baths and had just enough room for my brother and I. The complex itself wasn't open long, so EVERYTHING IN THE APARTMENT WAS BRAND NEW!! New stove, refrigerator and new toilet ( great for germophobes like myself!!) if you do not have your own washer and dryer, they do have a rental program. They also have garages you can rent as well. The area is well maintained and does not have a dumpster but a trash compactor. It has a small pool but considering that the complex is smaller it'll work. It was convenient to all of the shopping, grocery, restaurants and businesses with some that are walking distance like Chase Corporate Building. Close to I-270, US 23, I-71 and 315 junction so you can drive to downtown Columbus in 20 mins, depending on traffic.
